On the first visit made very welcome with every member of staff speaking. Showed husband all lounges with super views from each. The bathroom was accommodated to suit requirements straight away.

Reply from Susan Derby, Home Relations Manager at Lighthouse Lodge

We agree here at Lighthouse Lodge, we all love the terrific views from our rooftop garden along with all of the lounges overlooking Liverpool Bay. There is no other place who can boast such a wonderful vista.

With everything else at our Home, good food, living surroundings and staff, it can definitely be called a "Home from Home".

Thanks again for your lovely review.

My mum came to Lighthouse Lodge initially for a two-week stay while I was away on holiday - at 93, she had been just about managing for a while with carers calling in to see her at home a few times a day but I was worried about leaving her while I was out of the country,
After a two week stay, it was clear that she was far better off at Lighthouse Lodge - it's a lovely environment with bright, airy rooms and en suite bathrooms. The communal areas are beautifully furnished and decorated.

More importantly, though, is how great the staff are and the daily activities that are arranged for the residents. The care is second to none - and the fact that there's always something going on that the residents can join in with (if they want to) has meant my mum has really blossomed in this environment. She's gone from spending far too much time on her own at home to mixing with the other residents, joining in activities and finding her sociable side again. Which just shows it's never too late!

Many thanks for your very kind words and your positive review. I will ensure that all the staff are made aware of your kind comments. They are as you say, 2nd to none and simply the best. My heartfelt thanks to all the staff and residents for looking after my father during his first-ever care home stay. My darling husband who suffers from young-onset dementia spent a week's respite in the lovely Lighthouse Lodge in New Brighton while I had a much-needed break. Everything about this place is excellent. It is brand new and in a great location overlooking the estuary from the terrace and the upper floors. It is very well equipped, the décor is beautiful, it is light and airy. The food is brilliant. The residents all seem happy and content. The place is safe and secure. The activities for residents are superb. But the very best thing about it is the caring and well-trained staff. I believe they have genuine love and concern for their residents and their kindness to the relatives is so much appreciated. I cannot praise them highly enough. Using a care home for my husband even for a short respite stay is a huge emotional step for me and it is such a benefit to my mental health and peace of mind to know that this lovely facility is there to look after him when I need it.

Chose this beautiful, stylish purpose-built home for mum as loved the space it provided, the environment and ethos it advertised-the right place for mum after 6 weeks in the hospital, and increasing independence problems caused by Alzheimer's. This was to be her lovely home for the rest of her life. We weren't to know this would only be 10 days
The care and love shown to mum, whom they had barely got to know, was exceptional. When she was ill, all was sorted, we were kept fully informed and went home knowing mum has looked after. When the end of life care was suddenly upon us, they didn't hesitate to reassure us they were happy to care for her. What I hadn't expected was not only did mum receive fabulous care, but we did. Nothing was too much trouble- advice, food and drink, checking on mum and us, having a chat and laugh and we could hear the on-going positive care with other residents.

Truly an amazing and outstanding home- just sad our relationship with them was so short-lived, Thank you x

My parents moved to Lighthouse Lodge from another care home. We are delighted with the care and attention that both my parents receive here. The staff are very attentive and are always pleasant and polite with my parents and my sisters and I.

I now have peace of mind knowing that they are being cared for as they should be. The fact that the building is light and airy with beautiful furnishings is an added bonus!

My family and I are extremely grateful to all the staff at Lighthouse Lodge for the wonderful treatment and care given to my Dad during his two-week respite stay. It was such a relief for us all to know that he was treated with such dignity and respect. This was a difficult time for all of us and we would like to thank all the staff for showing such kindness, not just to my Dad but also my Mum, myself and all family and friends. Everyone at Lighthouse Lodge was so professional, supportive and responsive and provided such a welcoming community feel. It was lovely to be able to call and speak to Dad and to see him enjoying the entertainment provided.

We will certainly keep in touch with the Lodge and would be very happy for Dad to stay there again in the future.

My mother has been extremely well cared for since her arrival at Lighthouse Lodge. Rather than rely on written information, the manager and staff have taken the trouble to get used to her needs, likes, dislikes, and other characteristics by close personal attention and regular contact with me. The atmosphere is informal and friendly, staff are always ready to talk to me and the design and layout of the building are outstanding. It is early days but my initial impressions are all extremely favourable.

We transferred my Mum to the Lighthouse two weeks ago after she had suffered a week in a thoroughly unsatisfactory local 'care 'home. This is the first time I have ever been involved in searching for a care home and have quickly realised it can be a bit of a lottery which can be extremely distressing if you're unlucky. Lighthouse Lodge is spotlessly clean, bright, airy and welcoming. Without exception, the staff could not be more friendly and attentive, not only to my Mum but her visitors too. It's such a relief to walk out after every visit feeling completely confident that my mum is happy and could not be receiving better care; such a contrast to the concern and anxiety I felt at the previous home. Great view over the Mersey too - think we've been lucky this time.

Our family could not have found a better place for our Uncle to call 'home'. We were worried about letting go of the reins initially as we have always been so hands-on with his support and care. However, we knew immediately from our own assessment of the Lodge and of the staff, along with our Uncle's feedback that he could not be in safer hands. The staff are absolutely brilliant, really professional and caring. They have taken the time and trouble to really get to know our Uncle and to gear their care, his dietary requirements and preferred activities to his individual needs. In the process, they have given us total peace of mind. The staff are very good at communicating and keeping us in the loop. The home is furnished and decorated to a very high spec, but most importantly the specification has been carried out with the residents in mind i.e dementia friendly signs, specific lighting and taps etc. Everything has been thought of to ensure residents are happy, healthy and safe.

My Mother in law has been a resident of Lighthouse Lodge for four weeks. Lighthouse Lodge is an ultra smart, purpose-built care home, with wonderful views overlooking the river Mersey. The outstanding facilities are equally matched by the outstanding care provided by the staff. From the management team, through to the whole of the healthcare and catering staff, nothing is ever too much trouble for residents and family alike. Lighthouse Lodge has raised the bar for standards of care in the UK and has quickly become a sanctuary of care and kindness for its fortunate residents. Thank you all for everything you are doing for my Mum in Law.

Since arriving at Lighthouse Lodge my mother has been given exemplary care. A home depends on the quality of its staff and here they are caring, very friendly and really helpful. They all go out of their way to make mum comfortable and to feel at home. She has settled in quickly and I have absolute confidence that she is being looked after well and kindly. The staff seem to work really well as a team and appear to get on well together so I do hope that they will stay. Visitors are welcomed and made to feel at home.

The building is new and is very well laid out with clean, pleasant and spacious rooms and very nicely decorated common areas. The lounge on the top floor has a wonderful view of the river Mersey. I don’t live locally so I’m particularly happy to leave mum in a place in which I know she will be safe and well looked after and surrounded by cheerful staff who feel like friends. Highly recommended.

The food is delicious and that the care taken with medical needs is excellent.
