Excellent welcome lunch was provided for me and three members of my family. Subsequent allocation of extremely well-appointed floor room assisted by welcoming member of staff. To date, my experience has been beyond my early expectation. I have every confidence that this will continue.

My father came for respite care. He received wonderful care. The staff are caring, thoughtful and reassuring. Rooms are beautifully appointed and the food is first-rate. The management listens to any concerns and act upon them. Nothing was too much trouble.

Wonderful home with high standards and an extremely caring, professional and committed staff team. Following an unexpected fall at home and admission to hospital, I knew Mum needed somewhere to rest and recuperate before returning home to us. From the moment I called Graysford Hall I was reassured and
impressed with the level of service I received. From the hospital assessment, the home met the high standards of comfort and support each resident receives from the amazing staff team, we could not be happier with the level of care Mum receives. Although having been there for only two weeks, Mum loves the home and has already made some good friends. She says the atmosphere is lovely as are all the residents and has nothing but praise for each and every member of the staff team. The food is great and the building facilities are first class. So happy we found Graysford and would not hesitate to recommend.

Very welcoming as soon as I went in with my wife I was greeted by the care manager and introduced to some of the residents. My room was first-class, spacious and it was more like a luxury hotel but being looked after by a good caring team. The food was excellent and the activities were well arranged
to suit all tastes and abilities. I would recommend this home to anyone who needs respite or permanent care.

Relocating mum to a new home began online. We then made appointments to view several possible homes in and around the area. Graysford Hall was streets ahead of all the others, ticking all the boxes we had listed. Comfort, care, polite staff and management. Light, excellent decor. The ability for ma
to make friends. Lovely fresh cooked meals. Our family can now say we have peace of mind that she is safe as we are scattered around the UK. Mum's delighted to be living in Graysford Hall. My father was initially accepted for a weeks trial to ascertain his dementia needs. The home extended his stay by a further week after which he was accepted as a full-time resident. The staff are always extremely efficient and friendly; whenever I call for an update on my father, it's never too much
trouble to put me through to a member of staff to inform me about his well being. He absolutely adores his food and enjoys sitting in the cinema room watching car restoration programmes. Graysford Hall is of a very high standard with extremely spacious and beautifully designed bedrooms, which can be personalised by each resident. What would be an idea for the home to consider is to send a weekly update to a nominated family member either via email or letter. This could include a brief description of daily events, food consumed, activities performed, showered etc. This would be beneficial to families whose relatives have dementia. To conclude; Graysford Hall is simply stunning with excellent facilities and outstanding staff.

Mum settled well for a two-week respite stay. The care staff were very kind and patient with her and always respectful.
We were able to visit outside her room and talk to her through a partly open window. There were no time limits to our visits, and although mum was mystified by why we were outside,
we could tell she was pleased to see us.
The management was flexible and allowed us to extend her stay at short notice. We were disappointed that it wasn't possible to have a more relaxed meeting with mum in the garden but recognise the constraints of managing a care home during the lockdown in the area.
We communicated with many care workers and management staff during the visit and occasionally felt that messages hadn't been passed on. It would have been useful to have had one key link worker to communicate daily information, both from and to us. Simple things like when she left, when if at all had she had a bath or shower? any medical issues? chiropody appointment, activities enjoyed.

My mum has just stayed here for two weeks following an operation. We knew about Graysford Hall after attending the Open Day and it looked fabulous and so Mum was keen to go here for respite. We couldn’t have chosen a better place and they far exceeded our expectations in every way. They are so kind,
caring and thoughtful and it was such a relief for me to know that Mum was happy and safe. Everyone from carers, cleaners, gardeners, chef and admin introduced themselves to her and couldn’t do enough for her. My mum has said the food was excellent and they easily dealt with her egg allergy, cooking special alternatives. They have handled COVID professionally and sensibly, Mum was tested and quarantined for two days pending results and although I wasn’t allowed into the place, I could see her and speak to her from her private patio wearing a mask and socially distancing. I regularly visit friends and relatives in different care homes in Leicester and would move them all here if I could!

At a very difficult time for us as a family, Graysford Hall met all our requirements to give our mum the best possible care. They have shown tolerance, empathy and respect which has afforded our mother the dignity she deserves in the last years of her life. The support for us as a family has been excellent
and I would happily recommend Graysford Hall to anyone considering care for a relative. It does not matter how nice a place looks if the ethos within it is wrong, however, the caring, supportive ethos of all the staff shines through like a beacon, making this a wonderful place for our mum. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.990)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.990) out of 10 for Graysford Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.804 for Graysford Hall is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.804
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.186 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Graysford Hall is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.4 = 0.486
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

My name is Sorina Tanasa, and I’m proud to be the Home Manager at Graysford Hall.

Originally from Romania, I completed my nursing studies before moving to the UK, where I began my journey in care as a healthcare assistant. After receiving my UK nursing registration, I worked as a nurse, then progressed to Clinical Lead, and in 2022, became a Home Manager. I’ve also had the responsibility of managing two care homes, which helped strengthen my passion for leading with empathy and ensuring the highest standards of care.

Caring runs in my family; my mother and grandparents were all nurses, and I’ve always believed that kindness, dignity, and genuine human connection should be at the heart of everything we do. Graysford Hall is more than just a workplace to me; it’s a community and a home. I’m here to listen, to support, and to make sure every resident feels safe, valued, and truly cared for.
