Mum settled well for a two-week respite stay. The care staff were very kind and patient with her and always respectful.
We were able to visit outside her room and talk to her through a partly open window. There were no time limits to our visits, and although mum was mystified by why we were outside,
we could tell she was pleased to see us.
The management was flexible and allowed us to extend her stay at short notice. We were disappointed that it wasn't possible to have a more relaxed meeting with mum in the garden but recognise the constraints of managing a care home during the lockdown in the area.
We communicated with many care workers and management staff during the visit and occasionally felt that messages hadn't been passed on. It would have been useful to have had one key link worker to communicate daily information, both from and to us. Simple things like when she left, when if at all had she had a bath or shower? any medical issues? chiropody appointment, activities enjoyed.

Short term resident due to a broken ankle on right leg. Left leg very weak so hoist etc required. Diet should be more closely monitored as very large weight gain does not help recovery.
Reply from Pradeep Patel, Home Manager at Graysford HallThank you for your valued feedback. It was a huge pleasure to look after your husband. The team at Graysford are very pleased to hear that his stay at Graysford was a success and he is back at home with you and back on his feet too. The chef is glad your husband enjoyed all of his meals at Graysford. Hopefully he has the strength and energy to continue his recovery at home and we all look forward to seeing you both at Graysford very soon.

My mum has just stayed here for two weeks following an operation. We knew about Graysford Hall after attending the Open Day and it looked fabulous and so Mum was keen to go here for respite. We couldn’t have chosen a better place and they far exceeded our expectations in every way. They are so kind,
caring and thoughtful and it was such a relief for me to know that Mum was happy and safe. Everyone from carers, cleaners, gardeners, chef and admin introduced themselves to her and couldn’t do enough for her. My mum has said the food was excellent and they easily dealt with her egg allergy, cooking special alternatives. They have handled COVID professionally and sensibly, Mum was tested and quarantined for two days pending results and although I wasn’t allowed into the place, I could see her and speak to her from her private patio wearing a mask and socially distancing. I regularly visit friends and relatives in different care homes in Leicester and would move them all here if I could!
Reply from Pradeep Patel, Home Manager at Graysford HallThank you so much for the amazing feedback Jayne. Mum was a pleasure to look after. The team at Graysford hope she is well. We look forward to seeing her in the future. I know the other service users appreciated your mum's vast knowledge of wine.

At a very difficult time for us as a family, Graysford Hall met all our requirements to give our mum the best possible care. They have shown tolerance, empathy and respect which has afforded our mother the dignity she deserves in the last years of her life. The support for us as a family has been excellent
and I would happily recommend Graysford Hall to anyone considering care for a relative. It does not matter how nice a place looks if the ethos within it is wrong, however, the caring, supportive ethos of all the staff shines through like a beacon, making this a wonderful place for our mum. Thank you.

We had lunch with our friends. OK. It was a lovely meal served in a small annexe of the dining room. The staff, from going in, to coming out were so pleasant, caring and helpful. It was a very enjoyable experience.

This home took my parents at short notice and were thoroughly helpful and professional throughout. This is a new home and is finished to an extremely high standard. All the staff are first-class people and are prepared to go the extra mile to see to residents' needs. I have been particularly impressed
by the quality of the care which has so far been faultless. My parents have similarly been most impressed by everyone at the home and the care and kindness that they have received.

Mum was due to stay at Graysford Hall for a two-week respite stay following discharge from hospital, but unfortunately only got to stay for two nights as she had to go back to hospital. I say unfortunately because Graysford Hall is so lovely, I was looking forward to her enjoying her stay - so much
so that I thought she might even like to live there. Put it this way, I cried when I was shown around during a pre-stay meeting - every elderly person deserves a care home of this standard. Not just the gorgeous decor, etc. but the care and attention of the staff.
The communication with the home pre and during the stay was so helpful and reassuring during what was a very stressful time. The personalised welcome was a lovely touch for Mum and there was nothing that was too much trouble - for Mum, me or my seven-year-old, who was treated to a private cinema screening with popcorn whilst we got Mum settled in. Mums back home now, which isn’t going so well so Graysford Hall may well still be her next home.
Reply from Peta Mandleberg, Commissioning Manager Premium Services at Graysford HallThank you so much for your lovely review. We hope your mum is ok, sad to hear she isn't, but are happy to assist you in the future. The kettle is always on.

'Wow' amazing, brilliant staff are fantastic. My mom stayed in for two weeks whilst we were on vacation. She was so happy and on our return, the staff including the chef, were there to say goodbye. The place is superb and would recommend to all. Thank you. My mum will be returning as a resident in the
near future.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.284)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.284) out of 10 for Graysford Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.745 for Graysford Hall is calculated as follows: ( (113 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 141 Ratings = 4.745
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.539 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Graysford Hall is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4. 11 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.4 = 0.764
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I am a people-focused professional with a genuine passion for care and supporting others. Originally from Manchester, I spent my early years surrounded by close family and friends before relocating to Leicester as an adult, where I found my calling in the care sector.

I strongly believe that every individual should feel at the centre of their own care journey. Supporting people to maintain their independence, dignity and sense of self is incredibly important to me. I am passionate about helping individuals feel valued, confident and respected for who they are.

Working with people from all walks of life is what inspires me daily. I particularly value the opportunity to listen, learn and share in residents’ life stories, experiences and memories. This person-centred approach is at the heart of how I work and why I find such fulfilment in my role.

My outlook on care is simple: treat people with kindness, respect and compassion, and you create an environment where everyone feels cared for and supported.
