The Tranby Park staff are always friendly, helpful, caring and supportive.
My mum has settled in very well and is happy there.
Facilities are new and modern.
The bedroom and communal areas are kept clean and tidy. It has a nice spacious garden and balcony.

My mum has just completed two weeks of respite care at Tranby Park Care Home. The staff and management could not have been kinder or more professional. Mum was treated with gentleness and respect throughout her short stay. I would definitely choose this home again for Mum, if needed, in the future.
It's like a five-star hotel! Thank you!

Since my mum moved here in 2021, my experience has been gained since then. We had carefully assessed and visited various homes before mum decided on this one. We are fortunate to have found that this is indeed an excellent home and my hopes for the care and support it provides have been met.
I have
the sense that the owners and managers of the home have a common interest in doing things well. The staff - across the board - are welcoming and friendly and it's evident that they are well-managed and operate as a team. In my own interactions with staff - of which there have been many - I always find them helpful, positive and happy to work through anything my mum or I need help with.
Combine this with the evident expertise in caring for and looking after residents with compassion and respect, there's not a lot more that one could ask for.

My grandma has lived at Tranby Park for over a year now, the home is lovely and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Grandma has dementia and can be quite unsettled sometimes, the staff are great and know just know how to comfort her. When we first moved her in, the staff and managers were so supportive
and eased our worries. There's lots of activities to do daily, Grandma loves going out on the minibus. Grandma's dementia has sadly become worse but she is safe and happy and surrounded by people who really care. A huge thank you to all at Tranby Park!

Both my mother and father came into Tranby Park in December 2019.
The home is a beautiful building with lovely rooms and plenty of space. Both my parents received excellent care throughout their stay, even through the difficult times of the Covid pandemic. The staff became their surrogate family when
we were unable to visit, and in particular gave them each very good end of life care as they reached the end of their journeys.
And beyond the care they gave, several staff showed my mother and father a genuine love which they, and we, really appreciated.
Thank you!

The thought of a family member having to go into a care home fills most families with dread, it certainly did ours. However, after all the support shown, not just towards my Grandma, but the whole family by Tranby Park, the process has been made a lot more manageable. We cannot thank you enough, your
level of professionalism throughout, has been faultless. Tranby Park is run by a team who truly care.

My experience of the care home is very positive. Staff are polite, helpful and caring. They work hard and I am happy with the care my mother receives. There are lots of different activities which staff try very hard to tailor to her needs. The atmosphere, facilities and cleanliness of the care home
all appear to be excellent. It is a great consolation for our family to have our mum so well cared for in her illness and struggles.

My sister was welcomed into Tranby Park when it was just opened and has felt at home there since that moment. She suffers from MS and is no longer able to live at home, and she has improved with the care she receives there. Even though there is no cure for MS and it is progressive, she is much happier.
With the continuing pandemic, the people there have been marvellous in taking exceptional care of the residents, making sure they feel safe, and particularly that they are not alone.

My mum is a resident here and I honestly believe it’s the best place she could be. All the staff are amazing and the home couldn’t be a nicer place for my mum to be. She is always getting involved with the activities and loves her meal times as the food is lovely. When I go to see her, I never think
of it as being a care home, more her home as she is so at home and settled in it. I would recommend Tranby Park to anyone and everyone.

We cannot recommend Tranby Park Care Home highly enough. Not only is it luxurious and more like a hotel than a care home but it has the most fantastic, efficient, caring, compassionate staff you could ever wish to meet. My mum transferred to Tranby from another care home and it is the best decision
we ever made. We could not have wished for a more person-centered approach to care. Every need and wish is catered for, there is a bespoke care plan to make residents feel at home and keep them safe. Likes and dislikes, what time they like to get up and what makes them happy and sad are all considered. Every decision is taken with full input from the resident and their families. Nothing is too much trouble and Mum absolutely loved every minute she was at Tranby. Mum, due to lots of health issues, eventually needed end of life care and she was so well-loved, looked after and cared for during her residency and her final days. Tranby Park sets the standard that all other care homes should aspire too. Thank you!

The care my mum has received at Tranby Park has been great. The staff are excellent and have become like a second family for mum. This has been really important during lockdown. I cannot recommend Yorkare Homes highly enough. We have used them twice, once for residential care for my mother-in-law and currently for respite care for my father.
From the first point of contact via telephone, through the process of settling in, through care and up to and including the handling
of the current coronavirus situation, I can only say that every aspect of Yorkare's operation is of extremely high quality.
From the receptionist to the catering staff, housekeepers and all the lovely carers, we are as a family, treated in a professional yet caring, friendly and supportive manner and I cannot praise the Yorkare family highly enough.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.512)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.512) out of 10 for Tranby Park is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.878 for Tranby Park is calculated as follows: ( (118 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 131 Ratings = 4.878
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.634 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tranby Park is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8. 11 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.8 = 0.859
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

My favourite part of my day at Tranby Park is my morning walk-around, when I can greet my colleagues finishing the night shift and welcome the day team. It’s a simple routine, but it sets the tone for the day and ensures we remain close as a team.

I hold NVQ Levels 2, 3 and 5 in Health and Social Care and have built my career step by step in the sector. Before joining Tranby Park, I was Deputy Home Manager in a large 84-bedded home, which gave me invaluable experience in leading teams and supporting residents. Becoming a Home Manager has been my biggest career highlight to date, and I’m proud to be in a role where I can make a real difference every day.

To do this role well, I believe it’s essential to have strong leadership and good communication skills, alongside adaptability, flexibility and the ability to build trust. For me, the most important part of being a manager is remaining approachable so that residents, relatives and colleagues always feel supported. In my role, I’m most proud of my fantastic colleagues, who work so hard to provide the highest standards of care.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, socialising, and going on holidays.
