I am proud to lead a passionate team to deliver personalised quality care for our residents at Rokewood, ensuring they live well in a safe and caring environment.
I started my journey into care when I was 17 years old, caring for my father before he passed. Since then, I have worked in various positions from Care Assistant to Commissioning Registered Manager and hold a level 5 in Health and Social Care Management. I was proud to be the Registered Manager of Rokewood Court when it opened in 2020, and I am very happy to be back as it remains close to my heart.
When I am not busy working, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, children and grandchildren. We enjoy trips away in nature. I have a love for animals and keep chickens, a cat named Simba, fish and a tortoise named Gonzo!
I qualified as a teacher in 2005, but my path changed in 2012 when I came to the UK and started working in the care sector as a care assistant. I have experience in both nursing and residential care homes which enabled me to gain more in-depth knowledge of differing care needs. I’m a great believer that no two residents are the same and that each has differing needs, desires and preferences.
I have developed through training and practice and besides being a care assistant, I have been an activity coordinator, and a team leader and I currently have over 3 years of experience as a Deputy Manager.
My biggest achievement to date has been occupying a position as Acting Manager in my previous workplace. It was a very rewarding position, full of new challenges from which I have learnt a lot and gained a good understanding of the management role in a care home which I look forward to bringing to Rokewood Court. I am currently working on my Leadership and Management level 5 Diploma, and I am using every opportunity to share my experience with the team and to get involved in our resident's care. I am very passionate about elderly and Dementia care which I aim to pass on to the rest of the team. The reason I started working with Rokewood Court and Cinnamon Care Collection is that we are all united and share the same values: passion, dedication and respect. I look forward to meeting you.
I am the Lead Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator at Rokewood Court, Kenley. I am responsible for putting together a timetable of activities and events for residents covering everything from physical, social, experimental, emotional/spiritual, creative/artistic, therapeutic and sensory activities.
I spent 37 years working as a library supervisor for the Borough of Croydon, where I managed teams at the Central Library and its 12 branches. I am a singer/songwriter/performer and have had a 35 year career performing in theatres and concert halls, having released 4 original albums of self-penned songs (all available on Spotify). I am a book author and have written and published 7 non-fiction books on everything from religion to history and biography. I am a recipient of the Diocese of Southwark’s Bishop’s Certificate and have been on Pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
I am married (23 years ago in Liverpool) and have girl/boy twins now age 16. I love good food and fine wine, good comedy and great music.

My name is Samantha Oliver and I am the Head Housekeeper at Rokewood Court care home
I originally owned a Childcare Recruitment Company but during Covid I decided to change careers and became a housekeeper at Rokewood Court.
I started at Rokewood in March 2022 and in December 2022 I was promoted to Head of Housekeeping. I enjoy the challenges day to day life brings at work keeping a 64 bedroom home clean and tidy and ensuring the residents feel like they are at home whilst staying with us.

My very first role after leaving school was training to be a qualified Nursery Nurse. After passing exams and working in a nursery school I decided working with children was really not for me so taught myself how to type and became an office worker. I now have many years experience of working within an administration role and have previously worked in a care home for another provider. I have been working at Rokewood since 2021 and love working here and being part of a wonderful team.
I have two daughters and two grandchildren together with a Jack Russell cross called Casper. I love reading and have been known to get through 4 books in a week. I also like to Travel, my favourite destination so far being Italy. I also like listening to music whilst doing housework.
