My focus is to ensure we have an inviting, safe and homely community for our residents to achieve their full potential and live happy and fulfilling lives. Ensuring we have competent and caring staff is essential in this regard and I will ensure that this is an approach that continues and maintains confidence in all our residents’ families and friends.
Experience.
I have worked within the Health and Social Care sector since Qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1981. My career has taken me through the pathway of older people’s care as a ward sister in the Acute NHS to being a University Lecturer with the University of Brighton, developing and teaching the degree in Gerontology programme. In the later years of my NHS career, I worked as Deputy Chief Nurse in an Acute Hospital Trust and Professional Head of Nursing within an NHS Mental Health Trust. On leaving the NHS, I came to the independent sector and have been a CQC Registered Manager for the past 14 years.

I have been married for 45 years and have very grown-up children! I have very eclectic hobbies including baking, pickling, reading, writing poetry, and playing my X-Box; I also enjoy Star Wars, Sci-Fi and fantasy. Never enough hours in the day!
