My great aunt had a four-week respite stay at Earlsfield Court and we can not recommend it enough. Thank you to all the lovely staff at the home, obviously the caregivers but also the chefs and office staff who always went above and beyond. The whole process was made very easy and the communication
between us and the home was great. My relative felt well looked after and said she is glad to know that there is somewhere she will be happy to move into if she had to make a permanent move into a care home.
Reply from Sandy Hamblyn, Home Admissions Advisor at Earlsfield CourtThank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to write this wonderful review. It is very much appreciated and we all enjoyed having your great aunt stay with us for respite.

To the Home Admissions Advisor, in case we do not get to see you in person and all of the amazing staff, we would like to convey our sincere thanks and appreciation, to you all, for everything you have done over the past two weeks. The attention to the resident's needs, the care given and the patience
shown, most of all, the understanding by the staff of his condition has been utterly superb, and for that again, we thank you all so very, very much!
Reply from Sandy Hamblyn, Home Admissions Advisor at Earlsfield CourtThank you so very much for taking the time to write this wonderful and kind review. We appreciate you were unable to comment on the community activities as dad was isolated and shielding in his room for the two weeks respite but so happy that we kept his spirits up with all our team visits and activities in his room. He was adored by everyone!

My mum has just returned home after a respite stay at Earlsfield Court after an operation. Mum thoroughly enjoyed her time at Earlsfield Court. Previously Mum was not keen to have a stay in a care home but the comfortable, modern surroundings, the friendly, knowledgeable staff and the delicious food
all beautifully presented on the plate, have won Mum over. She told us that the staff could not have been kinder or more attentive to her needs and she really appreciated that the chef came to ask her what she liked to eat.
Mum received 5-star treatment.
The home are very careful to follow COVID rules to keep everyone safe but following procedures, I was able to visit. On mum's birthday, the chef made a wonderful cake and the staff put up an individually painted birthday banner. We sat in the pretty garden and admired the flowers. Mum had a great birthday.
Thank you so much to everyone at Earlsfield Court, who made Mum's stay lovely. She is now very well rested.

My Mother-in-Law recently moved into Earlsfield during these very trying times. The management of the home were very helpful and understanding in helping us to prepare her room before her arrival so that it felt as much like home as possible, arranging for personal pictures to be hung on the walls and
personal items to be displayed in the room. Due to Coronavirus regulations, my Mother-in-Law had to undergo 2 weeks quarantine but the home were fabulous in giving extra special care during this period and allowing us socially distanced visiting to keep her spirits up. Since completing her quarantine, my Mother-in-Law has been enjoying meeting her fellow residents, exploring the five-star facilities within the Home and continues to be cared for to a very high, loving standard. We are delighted we have been able to move her to Earlsfield and she is already reaping the rewards of being a resident there.

Mum was a resident at another care home when she and I felt it was time for a change. Moving is always stressful at the best of times, but I cannot speak highly enough of the great help and care plan set up for Mum's move and quarantine period during an extremely difficult and challenging time. The
staff are incredibly supportive of both me and Mum's wishes and try to accommodate them as soon as possible, whether it is a food request, a small maintenance issue, or a simple question. There is humour and genuine care given, with a hug too if needed and any queries I have are answered promptly. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with true 5-star quality and the cinema room is fabulous. Mum said she felt like she had been on an outing when watching a film there. There is a restful feel to the landscaped gardens and the setting is tranquil. We have enjoyed afternoon tea there together.

The staff of Earlsfield have done everything they could possibly do to advise, inform and reassure our family prior to admission and to continue to do that especially now that our mum is in their care.
We were and are so impressed with the facilities, the fabulous food and the dedicated care and admin
staff who have been so reassuring during this time when we need to know mum will be and is safe and cared for.

From the moment we made our first enquiry on behalf of our mum about moving to Earlsfield, all the staff have been totally amazing. They showed patience and complete understanding of our concerns about mum and where she might live and answered every single question we put to them in full, believe me,
there were many questions!
We met all the staff that would be looking after mum over tea and cake many times and viewed the home on several occasions to select the correct room. We were also invited to have lunch to try the food, which is exceptional.
The home is just beautiful, the bedrooms are designed to make you feel relaxed and calm, all with en-suite shower rooms.
The love and care our very precious mum has been shown whilst she has been in Earlsfield, is exemplary. Nothing has been too much trouble for Mum or us.
We can't visit Mum at the moment, but are updated with photos, an app and can call anytime to speak to Mum or a carer for peace of mind at this very difficult time.
Top-notch!

Earlsfield Court is new and exceptional in every way. My dad moved in last week and he is very happy and looks well cared for. That means everything to me to know he is in good hands. The genuine care of the staff is exceptional at all levels. They are kind and go the extra mile. Nothing is too much
trouble. His room is tasteful and stylish, and he has a patio door looking onto the garden. There are activities and outings. The food is exceptional and all his needs are swiftly met. Staffing levels are superb. The staff communicate well with me and have made my family very welcome in his new 'home'. I truly highly recommend Earlsfield Court as a care home with a difference - it is five star.

I am so relieved and happy to know that dad is in such good hands. I am truly appreciative of all aspects, large and small of Earlsfield Court. I have interacted with many staff members over four days of helping my dad move in and get settled. Absolutely everyone has been genuinely caring and thoughtful
and helpful and respectful to my dad and me. In many small ways, which can make a big difference in the feel of a place, I find Earlsfield to be a friendly compassionate and professional care home. There is a good staff ratio to residents and service is not rushed. The home is tastefully furnished and appointed. My dad is pleased with the comfort and appearance of his room and is already feeling at home. The meals are exceptional too. The quality of ingredients, a variety of menus and the beautiful presentation of the meals is amazing in every way. I recommend highly without reservation.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.819)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.819) out of 10 for Earlsfield Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 53 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.819 for Earlsfield Court is calculated as follows: ( (517 Excellents x 5) + (92 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 619 Ratings = 4.819
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Earlsfield Court is based on 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 53 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: General Manager

About My Role:
As General Manager at Earlsfield, my priority is to ensure that every resident receives the highest standard of care in a safe, welcoming, and truly homely environment. I oversee all aspects of the home—from care delivery and staffing to operational and financial management—with one clear focus: ensuring residents live happy, fulfilled lives with dignity and respect.
I am passionate about building a supportive, compassionate team that genuinely cares for every individual who lives here. I believe that families should feel confident and reassured when they choose Earlsfield, knowing that their loved ones are not only well looked after, but truly valued.

My Experience:
With over four decades of experience in Health and Social Care, I bring both clinical expertise and leadership to my role. I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1981 and have dedicated my career to the care of older people—working as a ward sister in the NHS, a university lecturer specialising in gerontology, and later as Deputy Chief Nurse in an Acute NHS Trust. I also held the position of Professional Head of Nursing in a Mental Health Trust.

Since moving into the independent care sector, I have spent the past 14 years as a CQC Registered Manager, continuing my lifelong commitment to delivering exceptional care for older people.

A Little About Me:
Outside of work, I’ve been happily married for 45 years and have grown-up children who keep me proud. My hobbies are varied—from baking, pickling, and reading to writing poetry, gaming on my Xbox, and immersing myself in sci-fi and fantasy worlds (Star Wars included!).
There’s never enough time in the day—but I always make time for what matters most: the people I care for, and the families who trust us.
