I don't know where to start, this home is just utterly amazing! I cannot thank the staff enough for looking after my mother, who came here for respite after having a fall at home.
As soon as you enter this beautiful home, you are always greeted by a friendly staff member. It was so lovely to see the
management getting involved with all the residents, especially when the entertainment was on, instead of being behind a closed door doing paperwork.
I cannot fault this home at all; it's beautiful, the food is amazing and the entertainment is mind-blowing. Even my ten year old daughter was allowed to join in and she loved it so much she wanted to stay!
Finally, even though this home is outstanding, it wouldn't be without the dedicated, hard-working carers that work here. Earlsfield Court must be so proud of them and they were simply the best! Thank you so much.

As a family, we looked at over twenty care homes between us all. We chose this one because of the kind and caring team, the amazing food, and the fact there is always something going on. My step-mum loves it there. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew it was the right place for her. We were made
to feel so welcome by the home admissions advisors, who couldn't do enough for us. We were nervous about making a long-term decision, but we all agree it's the best decision we've ever made. We just wish we had made it sooner, she's in great health and is just loving life again. We're so pleased and we cant thank the team enough.

I never expected my mother to be resettled into a care home. She has the best 24-hour care at Earlsfield. Treated with dignity, amazing supportive staff and management. Wonderful food, cleanliness is brilliant and housekeeping great. She is offered activities on a regular basis, unfortunately, my mother
forgets this. I am so pleased we found a ground-floor room with a lovely garden she loves, her walks around the garden are less at the moment due to her general deterioration and she is very happy at Earlsfield Court. Thank you.

We inquired with Earlsfield Court earlier this year and we really loved their concept of providing a secure comfortable home for clients and in the same manner being able to assist clients to be socially active by means of organising programs such as having cinema nights, excursions and providing activities
designed to cognitively stimulate client interest. The well-thought-out programs and the presentation of the environment that creates an ambience that encourages curiosity made us choose them over other care homes. When the right time came to transfer my mother-in-law into their care, we received a very enthusiastic reception; the Earlsfield team provided great assistance and went beyond our expectations to make for an easy transition for my mother-in-law to settle into her new home. We appreciate the generosity of their time and accommodating our needs in preparation for the move, which made a huge difference to our experience. Highly recommended, the Earlsfield team genuinely cares!

Arriving at Earlsfield Court from hospital for a 2-week rest and respite I felt very welcomed and was shown into a lovely ensuite bedroom with door to patio and garden view. The medication I arrived with I handed to the staff to be administered by them regularly during my stay. The staff were always
on hand if needed or just to chat. The menus offered an amazing choice of food. I found the residents very friendly to chat with and joined in with their flower arranging, playing cards, or just sitting and chatting, or watching a film in the afternoon in the comfy cinema. Staff always seemed to be on hand to assist with walking in the garden, or just to sit and pass the time of day to anyone on their own. Thank you, Earlsfield and I really felt the benefit of my stay with you.

The home lives up to its luxury claims. My family and friend say it is like visiting an expensive hotel. The team here at Earlsfield are a class above other care homes. They understand and take care of the individual needs of residents. They make you feel safe and nothing is too much trouble. The quality
of the food is very high, always well presented so eating is a pleasure. The chefs are always willing to serve up any special requests. Visitors are treated to coffee and cake and you can even arrange a dining experience for them. My stay at Earlsfield has allowed me to rebuild my strength both physically and mentally. I would not hesitate to recommend Earlsfield to families looking for a care home or to their loved ones.

Earlsfield Court is excellent in every department except food. This is often due to poor preparation and serving. Hot meals sometimes arrive at the table just warm. There are too many 'foreign dishes' for residents in age groups 80/90 who would prefer a more 'English' diet. Apart from the food I am
very happy here.
Reply from Carolyn Tyrer, Home Admissions Advisor at Earlsfield CourtThank you so much, Reg for taking the time to write this lovely review, and thank you for sharing your wonderful views about your experience with us as a resident in Earlsfield Court. Regarding your feedback on our menu choices I have spoken to the chef, we do use a heat probe on all the food when it leaves the kitchen and when it is served in the dining room to ensure that residents do receive their food at the correct temperature, so we will be monitoring this moving forward. Our Chef is going to come and have a chat with you about the food and what you are unhappy with to see what we can do to make your experience an even greater one.

I have very good reason to be grateful for Earlsfield taking in, at very short notice, my sister and brother in law who were turned away at the very last minute by another care home in Bexhill which had already accepted them but then raised a technicality about an EpiPen which they were unable to resolve.
Since the couple moved into Earlsfield they (and I) have had nothing but praise for the staff, the facilities, the standard of management and care, and the food. I have had experience of many homes in the area, but I have never come across one as good as Earlsfield.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.819)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.819) out of 10 for Earlsfield Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 53 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.819 for Earlsfield Court is calculated as follows: ( (517 Excellents x 5) + (92 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 619 Ratings = 4.819
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Earlsfield Court is based on 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 53 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: General Manager

About My Role:
As General Manager at Earlsfield, my priority is to ensure that every resident receives the highest standard of care in a safe, welcoming, and truly homely environment. I oversee all aspects of the home—from care delivery and staffing to operational and financial management—with one clear focus: ensuring residents live happy, fulfilled lives with dignity and respect.
I am passionate about building a supportive, compassionate team that genuinely cares for every individual who lives here. I believe that families should feel confident and reassured when they choose Earlsfield, knowing that their loved ones are not only well looked after, but truly valued.

My Experience:
With over four decades of experience in Health and Social Care, I bring both clinical expertise and leadership to my role. I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1981 and have dedicated my career to the care of older people—working as a ward sister in the NHS, a university lecturer specialising in gerontology, and later as Deputy Chief Nurse in an Acute NHS Trust. I also held the position of Professional Head of Nursing in a Mental Health Trust.

Since moving into the independent care sector, I have spent the past 14 years as a CQC Registered Manager, continuing my lifelong commitment to delivering exceptional care for older people.

A Little About Me:
Outside of work, I’ve been happily married for 45 years and have grown-up children who keep me proud. My hobbies are varied—from baking, pickling, and reading to writing poetry, gaming on my Xbox, and immersing myself in sci-fi and fantasy worlds (Star Wars included!).
There’s never enough time in the day—but I always make time for what matters most: the people I care for, and the families who trust us.

Whether overseeing care plans, supporting families, or helping staff grow in their roles, everything I do is guided by one goal: ensuring your loved one is cared for with the same compassion and attention we would give our own family.

About My Role:
As Home Admissions Advisor at Earlsfield Court, I’m here to support you and your loved one every step of the way when considering a move into care. I understand how emotional and overwhelming this decision can feel, and I aim to make the process as smooth, informative, and reassuring as possible.

From your first enquiry through to move-in day and beyond, I’m here to provide clear information, compassionate guidance, and a listening ear—ensuring you always feel supported and confident in the choices you're making.

I genuinely believe that what makes Earlsfield Court so special is the people who live there. The care team here is exceptional, and it’s a privilege to see, every day, the positive difference they make in the lives of our residents. This truly is a place where individuals are cared for with dignity, kindness, and respect—and where families can feel peace of mind.

My Experience:
I’ve worked in the care sector for several years, most recently in Eastbourne with another care provider. Before that, I spent over 15 years in hospitality and independent living—always in roles where providing excellent service and supporting people has been at the heart of what I do.

This background has given me a strong foundation in understanding what families need and value during life’s important transitions.

A Little About Me:
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. I believe in the importance of strong relationships—both in and out of the workplace—and feel incredibly proud to be part of a care home that feels like a true community.

With over 27 years of experience in Sales and Marketing, including 18 years in the care sector, I bring both professional knowledge and heartfelt passion to my role. I’ve supported several luxury care homes throughout my career, helping families find the right environment for their loved ones.

I also previously ran my own home help and care consultancy service, which gave me first-hand insight into the daily needs and preferences of older adults. That experience has deeply shaped how I approach my work today—with empathy, attentiveness, and a real understanding of what matters most to families.

A Little About Me:
Outside of work, I enjoy keeping active by going to the gym, spending quality time with friends and family, and walking along the seafront with my dog, Bobby. I love good food, live music, and making the most of life’s little pleasures—something I’m always happy to share in conversations with residents and families alike.
