The Haven care home in Boston, operated by Black Swan Care Group, opened in 2020 following an extensive upgrade. The home is registered to care for up to 36 residents.

The home is beautifully decorated and has a homely atmosphere. It is named after the nearby river Haven, and throughout the home there are pictures reflecting the local area.

The Haven has two large communal lounges - one with a bar area, a dining room, a beauty salon for nails and hairdressing, and level access to an enclosed courtyard garden where residents can enjoy the warmer weather.

All 36 bedrooms are provided with ensuite facilities and are designed for single occupancy. Double rooms are available for couples, depending on the individual care needs of the residents.

The Haven provides home cooked, delicious meals which can be eaten in the dining room or in residents' rooms if they prefer. All dietary needs can be accounted for.

Activities co-ordinators provide a wide range of varied and interesting thigs to do, based upon the preferences of residents.

My father always said he would not want to go to a care home. We no longer could manage to care for him at home. He was admitted to the care home straight from hospital. Since being in the home, he tells me every day when I visit for a chat at the window how he loves it. Staff are so kind and look after
him very well; he has a laugh and a joke with them. It puts my mind at rest knowing he is well looked after. As I am not able to enter the home due to covid, I have not filled all of it in for a true picture. I only know my father could not be happier and said it was like a palace. That makes me happy.

Evangeline Girling

Joined: 2021

Evangeline Girling began her career in care after providing domiciliary care to her Auntie who was living with Dementia.
Drawing on her experience as a former special needs teaching assistant, as well as a mum and nannie - Evangeline learnt valuable skills and experience by providing person-centred care.
After joining the care sector as a care assistant, Evangeline was able to progress through the roles within the home from Carer, Activities Coordinator, Deputy Manager, and finally Registered Manager.
The Haven is the third home Evangeline has managed.
Evangeline says what makes The Haven stand out from other care homes is: "The genuine passion for care in every one of the staff team".
