My sister and I viewed quite a few care homes looking for the perfect place for Dad. After speaking to the management at Brushwood they immediately alleviated all of our concerns, and he was initially placed for two weeks respite, with a view to residential. Needless to say, he settled in amazingly, due to the specialised care from the excellent staff. Brushwood is filled with, loving, caring, and nurturing staff that go above and beyond especially during these very challenging times, for this, we as a family are truly grateful. A huge thank you to the staff on Austin unit, they have been a godsend to our family, always accommodating us with a chat, constantly updating us with our Dad's well-being, alongside video calls, enabling us to see and chat with him. This is such a relief, especially for our Mum. Dad always looks immaculate and the carer even finds the time to cut his hair! We can't express our gratitude to all the amazing staff. An outstanding care home! Thank you.

Since me mam arrived at Brushwood it’s a sense of relief. Me mam is very well looked after. Them staff are the best and the managers. I can sleep knowing me mam has the care and dignity she deserves. It’s clean, it’s local, it’s boss and me mam is happy and that’s all that matters.

My mum has been in Brushwood care home for 3 months. As a family, we are all so happy with the care and attention she is receiving there. We have noticed a great improvement in her well-being, she is now able to communicate with us a little, and her little smile is back.

I put this down to the amazing staff who, because of the Covid-19, have stepped in and treated all residents with the love and care that the families are unable to do in these sad times.

My sister and I viewed quite a few homes looking for the right place for our Dad. From the moment we met the management team, we knew. Dad was initially placed at Brushwood for respite in February for three weeks, and the care he received was excellent. They genuinely care for all the residents, and each member of staff we met treated our Dad with dignity and respect. We then, as a family, had to make the heartbreaking decision to place Dad into residential care, we knew the only place we wanted him to be was Brushwood. Fortunately, we were able to get him in on 11 August, and all the staff have been amazing in settling him in, in the middle of this pandemic when visiting is not always possible, facilitating FaceTime calls and telephone calls. We can’t thank all the staff and management enough.

As a family, our mum is our priority! So finding a dementia care home that really cares is so important, mum arrived from hospital during COVID having given up on life! But with genuine care and kind staff, they have brought mum back to us. This place is filled with loving, caring staff that truly enjoy their job and it shows from the top (Managers) right through to the cleaning staff (fab). Big thanks to you all.

My mum moved into Brushwood when her previous home closed. What a difference.
The home itself was purpose-built and it is run by extremely friendly, well trained staff. Mum seems to be happier in herself.
The rooms are more than adequate, well furnished and are ensuite.
I think the outstanding feature of Brushwood is the staff, they are warm, friendly, caring and nothing too much trouble to them.

All in all, Brushwood is an outstanding care/nursing home.

Fantastic caring home, couldn’t ask for better care for my mum. Knowing she is safe and well cared for in a lovely environment allows us to feel a sense of relief for her and ourselves. The nursing care provided is great and couldn’t fault them!

My mum contracted COVID in her previous home but seemingly recovered in their care. Sadly she required a hospital admission for other issues but tested positive on admission. She deteriorated significantly due, I believe, to the very nature of a hospital environment not being conducive to dementia patients. I was told mum could not sit let alone walk, was not eating or communicating and her needs were now too great to return to her original care home. Due to the arrangements around the discharge of COVID patients, I had a very short time to find provision which could only be found online due to the pandemic. I could not have chosen better for my mum. In less than a week my mum was sitting up, telling staff clearly what she did or didn’t like and back to enjoying her sweets! She had to be checked over at hospital last week and when the doctor called, she commented how beautifully turned out mum was - this is a testimony to how all my mum's needs and values are tended to by the team. Thank you.

This place was amazing in all areas. My mum had Parkinson's disease for 18 yrs, spent 6 months in hospital then needed specialised care, we visited a number of places across Liverpool but we felt none of them could fulfil my mum's needs. Some places even told us they couldn't cater for her needs. Brushwood was a godsend to us as a family, we got it all here, care, compassion, friendliness, clean, we felt good to know and see how well she was getting looked after. Sadly my mum passed away at Brushwood with all her loving family and friends beside her, this is the type of place we need in the south of Liverpool.

My mother moved to Brushwood following the closure of the Care Home she was in. I was extremely concerned about how the move to Brushwood would affect my very elderly mum.
I needn’t have worried; the staff helped my mum settle in and have given her the best care and attention possible.

She now seems happy and relates well to all the staff.

My Dad was initially in respite at Brushwood in February 2020 for 3 weeks, the care he received from all staff was outstanding, rooms are immaculate, food all freshly prepared, like a 5*restaurant, his clothes all clean and ironed, the staff took time to get to know my dad and you felt that the staff all genuinely cared for him, treated my dad with such care and compassion and we knew he was safe and secure. When we had to make the heartbreaking decision to place my dad in residential care on 11th August 2020 there was only one place we knew wholeheartedly that he would be cared for as he had been at home and that was Brushwood, he went into care during the pandemic and all staff have been amazing, we are a large family and are always calling up to see how he is doing, they always try to accommodate us with a chat to him, which means so much when we can’t see him like we did before. We know he is safe and being cared for and that means the world to us as a family.

My husband was in the home from December 2019 till March 2020. I would fully recommend this home the Managers, Nurses and Care staff all give 100% for the care to the residents . Also the way they treat family members on visiting is truly recommended.
My husband loved his big bed they gave him and the way they respected him. I will never forget the time he spent there it was like an extended family. The Nurses were exceptional while he was very ill, they kept me informed right up to when ambulance took him in hospital, and kept ringing me to see how he was during his stay in hospital right till the end. I will never ever be able to thank them all enough for the care they gave to myself and my husband.

Thank you all from the whole family.

Brushwood is a credit to all the staff who work there, form the Manager downwards. Dad's room is spotless and does not have the smell usually associated with care homes. He is always clean and well dressed. The staff are very attentive and caring. The food is prepared on-site and is plentiful. I would fully recommend this home.

My Dad has been a resident of Brushwood since the beginning of December after having been in several other care facilities. Our family could not be happier with the care our dad has received from the staff at Brushwood. They genuinely care about the residents and whilst the home itself is beautiful, clean and the facilities are so much better than any other place we have seen, it is the staff who make this place. We cannot thank them enough for looking after our Dad. We have had a year of upset, trying to find him the best possible care which I believe we have found at Brushwood. Thank you all you are amazing.

We can't praise the staff at Brushwood enough. My dad has been there since before Christmas on the Roger McGough wing. We are welcome at any time and we have observed and heard first hand how the staff treat the elderly residents and their visitors. They are genuinely caring and we can't believe how lucky we were to get dad a place in this care home. This applies to both the day care and night care staff. I know how difficult it is to leave someone you care about in the care system but they have made our situation so much easier to cope with.

When we entered, it was so welcoming, I tried to book a room but no luck. Everybody was so friendly, we were amazed. My sister spent most of her time in the hospital crying but it was lovely to see her happy. The staff were so attentive. They sang along with the TV old songs which my sister loved and joined in. She is blind but they included her in everything. It was an answer to my prayers to see her happy. Thank you to all the staff.
