I spent a very pleasant couple of weeks in St Lauras after a hip replacement. One of my friends has been resident since the beginning of January, and they have coped magnificently with her needs - she was very stressed when she went there and has recently had shingles around her face and eye, spreading into her hair. The girls are so kind and look after her so sensitively. They are normally very welcoming to visitors too (not at the moment!). I can't sing their praises enough and my friend's circumstances are very difficult for them to cope with - who can and cannot contact her - and they deal with it very efficiently. St Lauras has only been open for a few months, and I cannot think of any improvement which could be made to the appointment of the place - I think they have thought of everything! I can't rate any of the options anything but excellent from my own experience and my friend's.

We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
- Outstanding - The service is performing exceptionally well.
- Good - The service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
- Requires Improvement - The service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
- Inadequate - The service is performing badly and we've taken action against the person or organisation that runs it.
- Not rated - we have not yet rated this area of the service, this is normally because the assessments we have carried out have been focused on other key questions.

Meet the Team (1)

I started my career within the care sector at the age of just 19. I have undertaken almost every role within a home - from Domestic and Kitchen Assistant, to Care Assistant, Senior Care Assistant and Engagement Lead. Through doing so, this has cultivated my storied success, as well as my appointment to Home Manager at St Lauras Care Home in Kings Langley. From this, and as I tell all of my staff, there are no limits to progression: from responsibility and personal development, to training and further education - I empower the people around me to be the very best that they can be, regardless of their age, health or confidence. And by doing so, they in turn deliver the exceptional care that the home continues to pride itself on.
At St Lauras, the highest standards of care, kindness, compassion, empathy, and person-centred values are at the heart of all we do. With open arms, we welcome you to join our ever-growing family.
