If you chose a care home based in England, you may be eligible for NHS Funded Nursing Care (FNC), which helps cover the cost of nursing. This is worth £254.06 per week and is usually paid directly to the care home.
Covid restrictions have now been lifted and happy to welcome family and friends from 10am onwards without an appointment. Portway House ask that meal times are avoided between 12.30pm - 1.30pm & 4.30pm - 5.30pm.

My name is Ann I Started employment at Portway House in January 2021. I qualified as a nurse in 2007 following many years as a carer. I have experience of working in many care settings, including hospitals, district nursing and care homes. I have achieved management roles in my past and gained a lot of clinical knowledge.
My name is Napa I joined Portway House in May 2020 as Senior Carer. I really enjoy working at Portway House Specialist Care Centre. All the team are really supportive, In December 2020 I was promoted to be a Senior Care Co-ordinator. I am so grateful I was given the opportunity to join the family of Superior Care Group.

My name is Claire. I started employment as head Chef, previously working at our sister site Newbury Manor in November 2019. I've been a Chef since leaving catering college with general chef and pastry chef qualifications, I have previously worked in hotels, restaurants and corporate catering. I was given a great opportunity to work over at our newly built site when it first opened its door in February 2020, I find working at Portway House fulfilling and enjoyable.
My name is Jackie I started employment in July 2020 with Portway House, before I was a singer entertainer working at pubs and clubs. Occasionally doing care homes. When covid hit and it was apparent singing in pubs and clubs was no longer, I decided to think about a career change and decided that I would look into being a Activity Co-Ordinator in a care home as this would utilize a lot of my skills.
When I was introduced to the team at Portway House, I knew it was the place for me. I am really pleased when I was offered the position. The staff and the residents quickly become very important to me. I love working at Portway House, its giving me the opportunity to grow and learn every day and gain knowledge I wouldn't have just singing in pubs and clubs.
It can be very lonely and isolating being on the road as a singer. I have got to really know people and built real friendships and I am really grateful to be given this opportunity. . I want to build on this and grow with a great team of people at Portway.
