Sadly, after many years as a visitor to Court House for multiple family members, the standard of care provided has deteriorated. There appears to be a significant lack of investment in both the training and support for the staff and in the facilities and equipment. These have been reported and official
investigations are in progress.
Reply from Sarah Soley, Deputy Manager at Court House Care Home

We're sorry to see that your review was negative, we would have liked to discuss this with you directly however despite our requests we have had no response from you. We can assure you that all training is refreshed regularly and we actively engage our staff with new training offered by various stakeholders throughout the year. We are always looking for training that can be delivered by our in-house trainers to further improve the skills for all staff. All equipment is maintained as per their service agreements and investment throughout the home is always ongoing when needed. We have already invested in all the communal areas with new furniture, new flooring and furnishings and work is set to commence on our new purpose built unit in the old Bredon Unit, this will be only the first phase of major investment for all three units. We have and will continue to respond to any concerns raised with the home.

Mom was admitted to hospital Dec 2024. I was informed that she was very poorly and needed palliative care. She was returned to Portway House (her home) and at the start of Jan 25 she was slowly picking up. The staff at Portway were so supportive and she is now back to her usual self. I couldn't wish
for a better home for my mom. I have so much peace of mind knowing how well they look after. They are always to listen to me also, if I'm having a bad day. Thank you with all my heart.

Overall good.
Sometimes no interaction with residents, sat apart in the lounge, which makes it difficult to talk to each other.
Residents need to be out in the fresh air now weather is nice, too much sitting inside.
Reply from Lavinia Tudora, Home Manager at Warrens Hall Care Home

Thank you for taking time to share your feedback .We are pleased to hear that your overall impression is good ,and we appreciate your observations regarding residents interaction and time spent outdoors. The residents recently enjoyed spending time in the courtyard ,and as the weather continues to improve ,we have a number of outdoors actives planned to make the most of the sunshine.Thank you once again for the comments ,they will be passed on to the staff at Warrens Hall.

I had no previous experience of other homes. My wife has been here for just over 3 months, where she has had 2 visitors every day.
The staff are very friendly to us all, especially my wife.
After having several weeks in hospital it has been a great relief that my wife is now being cared for.
Sincere

Carers are always friendly.
I think Mom has missed getting around in her wheelchair since she broke her finger. I understand she has received a new safer one, but I don't think she's been in it yet.

Portway House Specialist Care Centre is full of very caring staff. The manager is always there to help with an open-door policy. She is always ready to listen to anything anyone has to say and offer help and advice. The deputy is one in a million and will always go the extra mile to help staff, residents
and family. The care and all other staff are brilliant at what they do, very caring and all work to a very high standard. Once you have been to Portway in any capacity, you will never forget it.

My sister went to live at Court House Care Home after a stroke left her very ill and unable to look after herself. The first months following her stroke were extremely difficult and distressing for everyone to experience, but the care and attention to her needs by the staff was truly exceptional. Gradually
with their unstinting care, she improved enormously and became the healthiest and happiest that she'd been for years. Communication with the team has always been great, we've been kept informed of any changes in her health, medicines and moods promptly. The level of compassion and genuine kindness shown to my sister has been exceptional. We will always be grateful to the staff for helping her achieve her best life and one that she genuinely enjoyed.

I came here from hospital, I have been here for 3 weeks. Portway House is very big inside with 3 floors for different people. There are activities for all people to do in different ways. It's very well looked after the cleanliness is spot on. I'm waiting for a permanent bed. I thought to myself is this
the place for me? But you know what made my mind up simply it was the people who work here. Carers Nurses Managers activity planner. They put a smile on your face every day. They are the easiest going have a chat with and a laugh with and make you feel very welcome. I think that's the best thing ever being in a different place that's what you need. Comfort and friendly staff. Makes a world of difference. It's hard at first being in a care home but the rooms are lovely nice-sized en suite. Press the buzzer if you need help or a cup of tea. Recommended 10 out of 10 by me. Happy Days.
