The staff at Portway House Specialist Care Centre were fantastic in looking after my mom. During her stay, staff kept us informed on her progress and cared for her with dignity. I would highly recommend it to others.

My mom settled very quickly onto Portway House. The room is very comfortable and she enjoys watching the TV supplied. If she requires company she has a lovely lounge to visit. She enjoys all her meals and is looked after by all the staff excellently. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff if anytime I have questions that need answering. Would definitely recommend Portway to anyone. It is a very clean and modern care home. Gives me peace of mind my mom is being cared for brilliantly.

In the time my husband has been in Portway House, I have found all staff and nurses very polite, caring and helpful. Even the building and all the surroundings are really comfortable. I have been into my husband's room and it has everything he needs and is what every person would expect in a very fine hotel. And my thanks go to everyone who works there. Regards to them all.

This home is excellent. My mother couldn't have had made a better choice to stay at Portway House Specialist Care Centre. The staff were warm, friendly and made my mom's stay very comfortable so a big thank you to all the staff who looked after my mom. Hopefully, she won't be back, but if she ever did, I know she would be well looked after. Thank you again from myself and my mom.

My mom was transferred to Portway House after being in the hospital for 4 weeks. Whilst in hospital she was diagnosed with COVID-19 which made my sister and I very anxious. Mom has Parkinson's dementia so this was also a concern as she wouldn't understand what was going on and we couldn't be there to reassure her. From the first telephone call with the nurse, I knew she would be fine. She went 'out of her way' to make sure that my anxieties were alleviated. Every time we rang to speak to a member of staff they were kind and supportive and couldn't do enough for us. They arranged for my sister to wave to mom through the window as she hadn't seen her for 5 weeks. We also had a video call set up but unfortunately, mom was admitted into hospital the day before. The care and support to mom was excellent and the support to my sister and I was amazing. I have no issue in recommending this placement to anyone. Many thanks to everyone, carry on the good work.

When my mom went to Portway she was a very poorly lady with no interest in living, she had given up on life. Within a week my mom had her spark back, she was laughing and joking, full of praise for the staff - she really was a different lady. Portway gave us our mom back. Mom was very happy and content at Portway, and they will never know what that means to me, I am so grateful to them.

I can't praise Portway enough for the care given to my mother. She was so happy there. All staff are amazing. They couldn't do enough for her. They also were very good to us when we were allowed to visit (before lockdown!) I'm sure there must have been times they were very busy but they always had time for us. We must have been a bit of a nuisance with endless phone calls! Thank you, Portway for the wonderful care given to my mother. I know she loved her time with you. She loved you all! Portway is a beautiful, clean and welcoming home.
