Mere Hall Care Home, which opened in October 2020, includes an in-house bar, a full beauty salon and hairdressing room, and terraces from each floor with spectacular views overlooking Hornsea Mere. The Home is on a 2 acre site to allow large gardens, with bowling green, allotments and private seating areas. The facilities are used on a daily basis by visiting friends and family, and in the varied activities program run by the dedicated activities team 7 days a week.

Residential and Dementia care is provided for both permanent, respite and day care, in separate areas of the home. Dementia care is provided in the Haven area. The Haven includes its own dining and lounge areas, including an activity room and large terrace, with residents supported by a dedicated dementia care team and manager.

All bedrooms are large, with some premium bedrooms of over 20sqm each, and all include a full ensuite wet room, plus 4 premium suites that have been specially designed for couples/siblings but can be used individually also. The ground floor bedrooms include doors out to private patio areas.

My husband was admitted to Mere Hall Care Home after discharge from hospital. The building and all rooms were beautiful decorated and clean. The staff, carers, cleaners, chef, kitchen, laundry, secretarial staff, porters, in fact, everyone, was understanding and caring. Mere Hall deserves credit for
the way patients are treated. All the activities during the day were very much appreciated. Thank you everyone.

Mere Hall Care Home is a fantastic care home with great facilities but it is the staff that makes the difference. They are amazing and care for your relatives as if they were their own. Our Dad went into Mere Hall in August 2021, initially for respite care, however, due to the skill of the staff it
became clear that he needed specialist care and he moved to The Haven. There he received exceptional care to cover his range of disabilities. All the staff are professional but have the human touch, always looking to give Dad the best care and support he neeeded. This made the family feel happy in the knowledge that was he safe and well cared for. Even through the difficulties of Covid they have managed to keep everyone safe. They have activities every day both in the morning and afternoon that stimulate the mind as well as the body. Even at the end of his life he was treated with utmost respect and dignity. The family would highly recommed Mere Hall.

Mere Hall is an exceptional care home, the facilities are the best we have come across when looking for a suitable home for our family member. The room we chose was reasonable in price, very roomy and finished to a very high standard with a large, practical ensuite. The care that all the members of
staff provide is second to none, nothing is too much trouble for them. Grandad turned 97 whilst he was at the care home, and they threw him the most wonderful little party, much to his delight! Any questions you have, all you have to do is call or visit, and someone updates in a very friendly and helpful manner. As a family, we felt better knowing that our loved one was in such a good caring environment. It's with great sadness that he wasn't able to enjoy the care home for more than the 6 weeks he had left with us. Grandad was always treated with the utmost dignity and respect, right till the unfortunate end. I would highly recommend this home!

The care, compassion, support and service is of the highest standard at Mere Hall. All members of staff communicate well and you do receive a very warm welcome at all times. The quality of care is outstanding and it is a huge relief to know your loved one is so well looked after within a homely environment.
The organised activities for residents are well thought out and offer a good range for different skills and enjoyment, giving a fun time and ensuring social independence. The care home setting itself is spacious, bright, warm and homely. With many pleasant areas, great outside area and attractive gardens, a bar and hairdressing salon. Perfect! What is there not to love?
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Mere Hall and is a great asset to the local area.

Mere Hall is an outstanding care home, purpose-built, luxurious and extremely comfortable. En suite bathrooms are practical and spacious. The staff are professional and without exception, kind and caring. Care is tailor-made for the needs of each individual resident.
Some ground floor rooms have french
windows onto a patio, allowing for socially distanced, but personal visiting. There is also a visiting room with a perspex screen to protect both resident and visitor.
After a spell in hospital, my mum is making a steady recovery, meals are tasty and nutritious and the cooks are able and very willing to cater for individual needs.
I highly recommend this care home!

My parents have been in this care home since the end of October and during that time the staff could not have been more helpful towards the care of them both. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and they are always very pleasant and smiling. The property itself is like a 5* hotel, the rooms are
spacious and immaculately clean, as is the whole of the home. People's comments are it will be expensive but for the class of the place and the standard of 24-hour care, believe me, it's not.

My aunt (and my uncle until his death in December) became a resident at Mere Hall during the latter part of 2020. I live in the south of England, and I have not been able to see my aunt during the pandemic. Having always been extremely close to her (and indeed my uncle) I have rung Mere Hall each day,
as this has been my only form of contact. I know carers are busy people and not once have I been rebuffed and told they are too busy to take a call. If for any reason it has been a problem, they have taken my number and called me back. This has been vital to me and my mother, to be able to have that connection with our loved ones.
When my uncle was dying, the carers were not only extremely sensitive but, kept us fully connected and well informed.
Although my review is ‘from a distance’, I am comfortable in the knowledge that my aunt is being extremely well cared for, as I know my uncle was, and that gives me and my mother great comfort.

Although very expensive, the facilities are excellent with the home being very like a hotel but with carers to look after your family members. The care that they provided for my uncle was outstanding in his final days. They were very kind and considerate, keeping family informed and ensuring that appropriate
help was called for as needed and my uncle’s comfort and dignity were maintained at all times. My aunt continues to enjoy being cared for at Mere Hall and comments that the food is lovely and that she is very well cared for. During the current circumstances, the visiting room has been very useful for keeping in contact, and the staff are always very friendly and helpful when I ring to speak to my aunt.

This care home is expensive, no getting away from that, but there's an old saying that you get what you pay for which, in this case, is very true.
Though my mother has only been resident at Mere Hall for a few months, she was previously at another home in the same group, which was of an equally good
standard.
