Following the death of my father, my stepmother suffered a somewhat protracted period of hospitalisation, and we were advised that she would not be fit enough to return to her beloved family home and that residential care was needed.
We checked out many homes in the Salisbury area, but the Old Sarum
Manor was by far the best and most appropriate for her care and well-being.
She has wonderful facilities, which are second to none and is extremely comfortable and relaxed in her new surroundings. She has everything she needs and more besides. This has been a traumatic episode in her life, but one which she has adapted to very well through the support she has received from the Old Sarum Manor.
The staff are magnificent, and nothing is ever too much for them to assist with. They are warm and friendly and, without a doubt, are prepared to go the proverbial extra mile to ensure the happiness of my stepmother. Without a doubt, this organisation has the right people in the right professions.

My daughter and myself are delighted with our choice of care home for my husband. Our hope was that he would be happy and he is. The team are very caring and the atmosphere is always upbeat. The activities team work hard organising activities for everyone's different needs. The cleaners do a good job
and are always friendly, kitchen staff prepare excellent meals if my friends and I need this type of help I will look no further than Old Sarum Manor.

We found staff to always be helpful, upbeat and happy. Any request we ask for has always been accepted with a smile and dealt with. Facilities are plenty - particularly like the garden room with access to the grounds. Like that access is available to all floors and residents are welcome to roam. Everything
is very clean and looked after - nice modern facilities. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to any of my nearest and dearest. Thank you for all you continue to do.

My mother has been in here for around 18 months ever since she was widowed. They have always provided a first class care environment with the wellbeing of the residents being their primary focus, often going above and beyond what I have experienced elsewhere.
Recently my mother was admitted to hospital
after a subarachnoid haemorrhage and on her return the care attention and provision of extra aids to allow her to live a normal a life as possible have been second to none.
I am often consulted to see my views on new ideas and if I feel they are suitable and always kept informed of what is happening.
I would whole heartedly reccomend this home to anyone.

This care home is very well appointed with spacious rooms and areas for social and recreational activity. Access is allowed to a pleasant garden area. Staff are attentive and do their best for a 102-year-old who has had to recover from two bad falls. Visiting is very flexible and the laundrette and
podiatrist are within the package. A physio is also to hand. Integration is encouraged by the staff with other residents. The staff are pleasant and very helpful at all levels.

Mum has been a resident since early May 2022, we were thrilled then with the level of care and we are still as thrilled now! Mum has settled really well, it took a few weeks but the patience and kindness of the staff made it a smoother process. Of course, I felt guilty leaving her but I never doubted
the commitment towards the care that was provided. Every week we receive a schedule of the week's activities which are varied, there's something for everyone. Weekly menus are on display and the quantity and quality are excellent. Residents are encouraged to eat together but it's not mandatory, they are encouraged to join in with activities but not forced and they are treated with dignity at all times. Yes as others say, it's not a cheap option but it is a flat fee, no extras and in comparison with other care facilities around the area, is very competitive. Good quality doesn't come cheap in any walk of life and the care sector is no different, you pay for what you get. Highly recommend!

My friend was admitted to Old Sarum Manor in January when it became apparent that she could no longer manage alone at home as her short term memory and her coping skills were deteriorating. Her brother and sister-in-law and myself have Lasting Power of Attorney. I am a retired nurse and have experience
of working in Care Homes as well as the acute health care sector. I was very impressed with my initial visits to Old Sarum Manor when we were looking for long term care for my friend. The staff are all very professional, kind, courteous and helpful. The accommodation is beautifully furnished and decorated and 'homely', with a high standard of housekeeping. Residents are treated in a respectful and considerate manner. There are many, varied activities on offer, both within the home and visits arranged to other venues. The staff are very aware of the needs of the resident and also of the resident's family and friends. It is never an easy decision to move a loved one from their own home.

Mum has been at Old Sarum Manor for 5 months now. Because of her dementia, she gave them a lot of trouble at first, but they coped with great patience and kindness, and she is more settled than I could ever have hoped. The food is fantastic too and has given her back her appetite.

It wasn't easy moving my mother, who has dementia and restricted mobility, during Covid restrictions. She moved from outside of UK and had been in her previous care home for almost 5 years. The staff at Old Sarum Manor could not have been more helpful or welcoming. After several travel cancellations
- when it happened at short notice, Mum's room was ready and matters such as getting her registered with a GP/NHS/naming clothes etc were dealt with swiftly - special thanks to the staff. Initially I visited daily, but I need not have worried about Mum settling in! Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff. The activities planner changes weekly and residents can participate as much or as little as they want - mum's favourite activity is watching others do them! When I collected Mum from her previous care home, she looked disheveled, distressed and uncared for. She looks so much better now! clean, cared for, hair and nails done and she's very happy. Thank you Old Sarum Manor!

Mum has been a resident since January 2022.
Mum is safe, well cared for and happy.
The standard of cleanliness of the place is very high; it does not feel like a musty old nursing home! It’s more like a feeling of a 5-star hotel. It’s quiet and has the right level of activities for the residents.
The residents are encouraged to socialise together, and the staff do seem to encourage the residents to come out of their rooms, even if it’s just to eat their meals in the restaurant.
The care, on the whole, is excellent, a real effort is made to provide friendly, quality care.
I am very happy to recommend Old Sarum Manor for your elderly loved ones; it is certainly not cheap, but it’s a premier home with cheerful and attentive staff who do seem to genuinely care.
Any issues which have arisen have been carefully listened to and quickly addressed.
I can now visit my mum, have a cup of tea and a chat and spend quality time with her.

Our father realised he needed to move to a care home following a stroke which left him dependent on personal care to help him, something almost impossible to organise as he was living in a cottage in the middle of nowhere.
The first care home he moved to initially seemed fine but it soon became clear
that it was falling short in many aspects of care, in particular providing dignity. We, therefore, had no option other than to move him and thank goodness we did. Old Sarum Manor is an absolute 10 out of 10; the care provided is second to none. Residents' needs and dignity are most definitely put first and foremost by all the staff, and the building and environs are absolutely beautiful with excellent facilities. It is extremely well managed by the team and nothing is too much trouble. When our father first moved in he was depressed and demotivated, but he is now so much happier, confident and at peace and I can't express how grateful we are to all at Old Sarum Manor for this.

My mum’s care is excellent. The staff are compassionate, caring, friendly and helpful. The activities are well thought out and well run, giving Mum a varied day with lots of stimulation. The facilities are exceptional and just like a hotel! Bedrooms have lots of space to add their home comforts to make
them familiar. The ensuite is a wet room with storage for all their toiletries. I have to travel for over an hour to visit my mum, and I’m always made very welcome and have the opportunity to dine with Mum if I want. Really nice to sit and have a cup of tea with Mum or take her out for the day.
I highly recommend this care home and have already recommended one of Mum’s friends, who is currently trying out some respite. All the staff in this home, work really hard and love what they are doing, which makes it so much easier to relax in the fact that Mum is living in a lovely home.

Mum has been a resident since May 2021 and is very very happy here. The staff are caring and so very thoughtful. We lost my dad recently, and due to 'family politics, Mum wasn't taken to the funeral. But the staff stepped in and ensured she attended her husband of 70-years funeral. We can never thank
them enough for their actions that day.


The food is excellent (and my mums can be a very particular eater), the rooms are spotless, and the staff are angels; they actually care about their residents.


Old Sarum is the best care home in the area, and I can't praise or recommend it enough.

The staff here are all incredibly friendly, working hard to ensure every resident has the very best care. The owners are very hands-on and immediately available for a chat at any time. My father, who has Alzheimer's, is definitely in the right place being looked after with empathy and love. The home

Old Sarum Manor is wonderful. My dad (who has Alzheimer's) tried another care home, but then we found Old Sarum Manor and couldn't be happier. The staff and management really go the extra mile to create a friendly, caring and stimulating home for their residents, and a welcoming environment for their
families too. It is beautifully decorated and has lots of different social spaces for residents to enjoy, wander between, and enjoy quiet time or social experiences. There is a great set of daily activities, which residents really enjoy, including baking, garden bowls, gardening, quiz night, movie night in the cinema and trips out. The recent BBQ with families was lovely too!

My mother-in-law went into Old Sarum for an initial 2-week stay just to see how she would get on, as she is a very independent lady but was starting to find things a bit tougher, so we thought a short stay may be best, before this, we had looked at many local facilities in the area, and to be honest,
most were quite good, but this stood out far better than any other, this place is a little gem.
All the staff are all really caring and friendly and take real pride in their jobs.
The home lends itself to be being in a five-star luxury hotel from the decor to the foods to the entertainment and the all-inclusive package is exactly what it says, all hairdressing drinks (including alcohol in the Sky Bar) day trips out, the list goes on, all in the price you pay, which to be fair is really good also.
I would highly recommend a visit if you are looking to place loved ones into a caring facility as you will not be disappointed here.

Michael started his career as a Care Assistant, working with the elderly over thirty years ago. This has become a vocation, supporting people to maximize their quality of life. He then went on to work with People who had experienced brain injuries, where he progressed to Senior Care Assistant, and to Deputy Manager. Michael has also worked closely with people in the community, as well as in care homes. He was promoted to Home Manager where he worked in the private sector with vulnerable adults.


Michael has continued to develop his skills and training by working in several private organisations as a Manager. He has also been a Regional Manager working for a small care group, supporting people with learning disabilities within the community. Michael has come to Old Sarum Manor after working for an organisation for eight years.


He is passionate about care and supporting people to maximise their full potential. Michael is committed to developing services and helping people to feel fulfilled, developing a sense of belonging and pride in their home.
