No words can describe the care and attention my Dad received at Old Sarum Manor. Right from the beginning of his stay until the sad time of his passing. Everyone was so kind, helpful and professional. Keep up the good work. Five stars.

Mum has been a resident since early May 2022, we were thrilled then with the level of care and we are still as thrilled now! Mum has settled really well, it took a few weeks but the patience and kindness of the staff made it a smoother process. Of course, I felt guilty leaving her but I never doubted the commitment towards the care that was provided. Every week we receive a schedule of the week's activities which are varied, there's something for everyone. Weekly menus are on display and the quantity and quality are excellent. Residents are encouraged to eat together but it's not mandatory, they are encouraged to join in with activities but not forced and they are treated with dignity at all times. Yes as others say, it's not a cheap option but it is a flat fee, no extras and in comparison with other care facilities around the area, is very competitive. Good quality doesn't come cheap in any walk of life and the care sector is no different, you pay for what you get. Highly recommend!

My friend was admitted to Old Sarum Manor in January when it became apparent that she could no longer manage alone at home as her short term memory and her coping skills were deteriorating. Her brother and sister-in-law and myself have Lasting Power of Attorney. I am a retired nurse and have experience of working in Care Homes as well as the acute health care sector. I was very impressed with my initial visits to Old Sarum Manor when we were looking for long term care for my friend. The staff are all very professional, kind, courteous and helpful. The accommodation is beautifully furnished and decorated and 'homely', with a high standard of housekeeping. Residents are treated in a respectful and considerate manner. There are many, varied activities on offer, both within the home and visits arranged to other venues. The staff are very aware of the needs of the resident and also of the resident's family and friends. It is never an easy decision to move a loved one from their own home.

Mum has been at Old Sarum Manor for 5 months now. Because of her dementia, she gave them a lot of trouble at first, but they coped with great patience and kindness, and she is more settled than I could ever have hoped. The food is fantastic too and has given her back her appetite.

It wasn't easy moving my mother, who has dementia and restricted mobility, during Covid restrictions. She moved from outside of UK and had been in her previous care home for almost 5 years. The staff at Old Sarum Manor could not have been more helpful or welcoming. After several travel cancellations - when it happened at short notice, Mum's room was ready and matters such as getting her registered with a GP/NHS/naming clothes etc were dealt with swiftly - special thanks to the staff. Initially I visited daily, but I need not have worried about Mum settling in! Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff. The activities planner changes weekly and residents can participate as much or as little as they want - mum's favourite activity is watching others do them! When I collected Mum from her previous care home, she looked disheveled, distressed and uncared for. She looks so much better now! clean, cared for, hair and nails done and she's very happy. Thank you Old Sarum Manor!

Mum has been a resident since January 2022.
Mum is safe, well cared for and happy.
The standard of cleanliness of the place is very high; it does not feel like a musty old nursing home! It’s more like a feeling of a 5-star hotel. It’s quiet and has the right level of activities for the residents.
The residents are encouraged to socialise together, and the staff do seem to encourage the residents to come out of their rooms, even if it’s just to eat their meals in the restaurant.
The care, on the whole, is excellent, a real effort is made to provide friendly, quality care.
I am very happy to recommend Old Sarum Manor for your elderly loved ones; it is certainly not cheap, but it’s a premier home with cheerful and attentive staff who do seem to genuinely care.
Any issues which have arisen have been carefully listened to and quickly addressed.
I can now visit my mum, have a cup of tea and a chat and spend quality time with her.

Keep up the high standards, Old Sarum Manor!

Our father realised he needed to move to a care home following a stroke which left him dependent on personal care to help him, something almost impossible to organise as he was living in a cottage in the middle of nowhere.

The first care home he moved to initially seemed fine but it soon became clear that it was falling short in many aspects of care, in particular providing dignity. We, therefore, had no option other than to move him and thank goodness we did. Old Sarum Manor is an absolute 10 out of 10; the care provided is second to none. Residents' needs and dignity are most definitely put first and foremost by all the staff, and the building and environs are absolutely beautiful with excellent facilities. It is extremely well managed by the team and nothing is too much trouble. When our father first moved in he was depressed and demotivated, but he is now so much happier, confident and at peace and I can't express how grateful we are to all at Old Sarum Manor for this.

My mum’s care is excellent. The staff are compassionate, caring, friendly and helpful. The activities are well thought out and well run, giving Mum a varied day with lots of stimulation. The facilities are exceptional and just like a hotel! Bedrooms have lots of space to add their home comforts to make them familiar. The ensuite is a wet room with storage for all their toiletries. I have to travel for over an hour to visit my mum, and I’m always made very welcome and have the opportunity to dine with Mum if I want. Really nice to sit and have a cup of tea with Mum or take her out for the day.

I highly recommend this care home and have already recommended one of Mum’s friends, who is currently trying out some respite. All the staff in this home, work really hard and love what they are doing, which makes it so much easier to relax in the fact that Mum is living in a lovely home.

Mum has been a resident since May 2021 and is very very happy here. The staff are caring and so very thoughtful. We lost my dad recently, and due to 'family politics, Mum wasn't taken to the funeral. But the staff stepped in and ensured she attended her husband of 70-years funeral. We can never thank them enough for their actions that day.

The food is excellent (and my mums can be a very particular eater), the rooms are spotless, and the staff are angels; they actually care about their residents.

Old Sarum is the best care home in the area, and I can't praise or recommend it enough.

Thank you for all your support and help in difficult times.

The staff here are all incredibly friendly, working hard to ensure every resident has the very best care. The owners are very hands-on and immediately available for a chat at any time. My father, who has Alzheimer's, is definitely in the right place being looked after with empathy and love. The home is welcoming, spotless, and the food delicious.

Old Sarum Manor is wonderful. My dad (who has Alzheimer's) tried another care home, but then we found Old Sarum Manor and couldn't be happier. The staff and management really go the extra mile to create a friendly, caring and stimulating home for their residents, and a welcoming environment for their families too. It is beautifully decorated and has lots of different social spaces for residents to enjoy, wander between, and enjoy quiet time or social experiences. There is a great set of daily activities, which residents really enjoy, including baking, garden bowls, gardening, quiz night, movie night in the cinema and trips out. The recent BBQ with families was lovely too!

My mother-in-law went into Old Sarum for an initial 2-week stay just to see how she would get on, as she is a very independent lady but was starting to find things a bit tougher, so we thought a short stay may be best, before this, we had looked at many local facilities in the area, and to be honest, most were quite good, but this stood out far better than any other, this place is a little gem.
All the staff are all really caring and friendly and take real pride in their jobs.
The home lends itself to be being in a five-star luxury hotel from the decor to the foods to the entertainment and the all-inclusive package is exactly what it says, all hairdressing drinks (including alcohol in the Sky Bar) day trips out, the list goes on, all in the price you pay, which to be fair is really good also.
I would highly recommend a visit if you are looking to place loved ones into a caring facility as you will not be disappointed here.

Thanks again everyone for making a tough decision easy.

My husband was in for a period of 2-weeks for respite.
I can't recommend Old Sarum Manor enough. It had a very caring and considerate staff; they all took time to help and encourage my husband, which was not an easy task at times - I know. It was a calm and reassuring atmosphere.
Even one of the owners of the residential home, who was very present on the floor and not just in his office, showed remarkable care and interest in all the residents.
The facilities were outstanding with 3-course lunch and dinner, or something else if needed. Also, coffee, tea, sandwiches and cakes are on-demand, even for me as a visitor. I even had supper with my husband and a glass of wine on one occasion included in the price.
The room was very comfortable with a wide bed, TV and plenty of space.

If and when my husband needs another visit like this or maybe longer necessary, I will not look any further than Old Sarum Manor.

Good:
Nice new care home with great facilities and an all-inclusive package.
Kind and attentive carers.
Easy to access
Good food.

Hair, nails and drinks included.

Bad: We were very disappointed that the lovely manager left her role soon after my Nan's arrival, she was a major reason for us choosing Old Sarum Manor over others.

No telephone in her room, so when we call reception, they tell us they will get a phone taken to her and they will call us back, sometimes this can take a couple of hours and on several occasion, callbacks have not happened at all despite being told they will.

When it became apparent that mum couldn't cope with living on her own anymore, we started looking at all the care home options in the area. We thought we'd found the ideal home but thought we'd look at one more, which was Old Sarum Manor. Now we are really happy that we did, for we can't imagine anywhere else matching the standards here. The building seems more like a luxury hotel than a care home, with so many facilities and activities to keep mum entertained. The staff are lovely and look after her so well, it is heartwarming to see. The food, well, it's superb. Every little detail seems so thought out and it's that attention to detail that impressed me right from the word go. I just can't fault Old Sarum Manor and know we couldn't have found anywhere better no matter how hard we tried.

Mum recently moved into Old Sarum Manor Care Home. She says she is so happy and well looked after, which is reassuring for us as a family during the current Covid climate. During these challenging times we still ‘communicate’ with Mum through Facetime, telephone and visits in the specially-adapted Garden Room. Staff give well-informed updates on Mum’s health issues and needs. Their Facebook page is an added bonus with up-to-date photos and news of residents, staff, and activities. The staff are extremely accommodating, caring and dedicated, and treat Mum with patience, dignity and respect. In keeping with what I have so far seen, I am confident that Mum’s room, and the home itself, is beautifully furnished to a very high standard, always tip-top clean and oozes class and style. Meals are nourishing and well-presented - kudos to carers, catering staff, and all team members who are an asset to the home! I highly recommend this care home - it emanates a ‘wow, just wow' factor in all aspects.
