Excellent care provided for my mum. The rooms are lovely, and the staff are very attentive with hourly checks done, including helping with having a drink, repositioning in bed and sitting and talking with Mum.

From the manager to the staff, everyone has been helpful, and the care has been great for my brother. The best nursing home I found in Shrewsbury by a long way to look after my brother. I think the food could be a little better, but apart from that, it's 99% perfect at this point, and he is getting better - he was not in the last nursing home.

My mother has dementia, and the staff are excellent with her. Nothing is too much trouble. Have a choice on the menu, also will make something else if they don't like. Communication is very good; you can talk to them, make you feel like it's all one happy family. Always drinks and cake are available, which are excellent.

Overall Experience

From day one, Mum was made very welcome, nothing has been too much trouble, and all staff are friendly, knowledgable, caring and approachable. I am reassured that Mum is in very competent hands and am so grateful that I can leave Mum without worrying about her care. We have flexibility when visiting or taking Mum out. The facilities in the well-led and well-managed home are very good. Mum always talks about what lovely meals she has eaten, how helpful everyone is, and she feels like "royalty".

Review from Pat D (Sister of Resident) published on 26 January 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My sister is a resident of Oxbow Manor. She is disabled and also has dementia. She is totally dependent on the care staff. We are most impressed with the nursing care she is receiving. Everyone is caring, kind and professional. When she first arrived, she was quite withdrawn but is now more alert, responsive and happy. This is due to the wonderful care she is receiving. Her room is light, bright and beautifully clean. The care staff make sure she eats, drinks and has everything she needs. Nothing is too much trouble. Every member of staff is friendly, approachable and professional.

Meet the Team (1)

Michelle Maidan
Michelle MaidanJob Title:Home Manager

I joined Oxbow Manor in 2022 when the opening opened, having heard excellent recommendations from care staff who had worked for other Care UK care homes. Their values are important to me and are ones I share; fulfilling lives, quality, personalised care and supporting a team whilst recognising their hard work!

I have 30 years’ experience in the NHS working as a Registered Nurse and Independent Prescriber, as well as experience as a Clinical Lead in another local care home. To ensure I carry out my role to the highest standard, I ensure everything I do is done with care and compassion, and with an approachable attitude. I find that good communication with the team is paramount for success.

In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, macrame, reading and spending time with my Cockapoo Bayley!
