We are so pleased with the service and care we have experienced at Brackley Care Home. When our 85 year old, great friend and "pretend Grandma" became suddenly ill recently, we were soon overwhelmed by having to try to provide full care for her. The manager at Brackley Care Home was amazing and provided
us with both excellent advice, assistance and a lifeline when we needed it most.
Our friend was quickly able to move in for respite care and within a couple of days, she was eating, sitting up and becoming much brighter. The team have been amazing in getting our friend re-engaged with life and getting stronger by the day. The facilities are brand new and look more like a hotel than a care home. Despite the pandemic we have been able to visit in a safe and Covid secure way. We feel very comfortable that our friend is protected and safe.
Thanks to the whole team for a wonderful job!

When my aunt required respite care we found the Brackley Care Home through a mutual friend. We have been delighted with the level of care and dignity with which my aunt has been treated. The home has a feeling of a hotel and excellent attention to detail. The staff are nothing short of fantastic. We
would not hesitate in recommending Brackley Care Home.

The home and staff are amazing, the home is bright, cheerful and welcoming just like the staff from caretakers to management. In my mother's own words 'this is the best and they make the best cup of tea!'
It is so lovely seeing my mum so happy and settled, and the icing on the cake was seeing that
someone had taken the time to shape and paint her fingernails. Thank you.

Very reassuring to know that Dad is being well cared for. I feel it's important for dementia sufferers to be mentally stimulated, the manager and her team provide this in full for Dad. He regularly gets involved with singing, gardening, baking, quizzes, dog walking and exercise classes to name but
a few activities. Great place and would wholeheartedly recommend.

My mum was one of the first residents at Brackley Care Home when it opened in 2020.
It has obviously been a difficult time with the pandemic, however, the staff have been doing everything they can to make my mum's home a special and enjoyable place.
The quality of the facilities is excellent; as is
the food... from what we can see in the photos and hear from my mum, my mum was a cook, so she knows what good food is all about.
The variety of activities on offer is excellent, always something to do and get involved with, my mum loves gardening and crafting.
I know my mum is looking forward to a time when she can get out and about with the staff and venture further afield.
Thank you.
Reply from Sheena Croston, Manager at Brackley Nursing HomeThank you for your lovely review. We are all looking forward to our trips out and have already made many plans. Your mother and myself are especially looking forward to our trip to Le Manoir and were very excited to hear back from the management to try and coincide our visit for when Raymond Blanc is in. We will, of course, have to have a visit to Marlow first to purchase our new outfits!

My dad has been in Brackley Care Home for a month now on respite care. The care home has been brilliant in every way, from receptionist, nursing staff and management. They have met all needs I requested, especially the most important one of communication.
I can’t rate them high enough.

My aunt was the very first resident in Brackley Care Home needing nursing care. From the many meetings with the manager during the build and in preparation for my aunt's arrival, we have been impressed with the commitment to make this my aunt's new home. Since her arrival in November 2020, she has been
very well looked after and as her nursing needs have increased, nothing is too much trouble for the team. This was a significant move from a care home in Bournemouth to one closer to her family, but my aunt has stated this was the right move for her. Her health is not improving and we now have daily discussions with the staff to work together to provide the best care possible. The location is lovely and peaceful and being opposite the brand new Brackley Medical Centre, the ability for a GP to pop across the road to visit is a great advantage. My aunt's new home is like a 5* hotel but with staff who are interested in their guests and are prepared to go above and beyond. Well done to all.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.898)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.898) out of 10 for Brackley Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 66 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 65 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.898 for Brackley Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (717 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 778 Ratings = 4.898
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brackley Nursing Home is based on 65 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 65 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
