My father spent a short period of time in Brackley Care Home in a respite bed. I was incredibly impressed with all aspects of the experience, liaising with the home prior to his arrival. The friendliness and compassion of the staff during his stay and of course the place itself, which was beautiful
and modern and clean. I would quite happily recommend the home to others, either for a short-term stay, or as a long-term resident. Very, very impressed.

Sadly, my family suffered the loss of my mother recently at the care home. She came to them an extremely unwell lady on palliative care. From the moment she arrived, they took the most amazing care of her and of us. They have handled everything with such love, care and compassion. We will always be
eternally grateful to them. Nothing was too much trouble to them. I'm so glad they were there. Our heartfelt thanks to them all.
Reply from Sharon Wassing, Manager at Brackley Nursing HomeThank you for this lovely review and we appreciate you taking the time to do this at such a difficult time for you and your family. We would like to thank you and your family for the privilege of entrusting the care of your mother to us.

Caring staff, are thoughtful, friendly, respectful and engage well with residents. The facilities are excellent and the environment is wonderful. The activities programme is imaginative, with something for everyone and several times a day. Most of all, visitors are welcome at all times, in fact, it
feels like home for me too!

Every time I visit my mother, I think the bubble may have burst with how well she has settled into the home, but it most certainly hasn't and she continues to be very happy and contented, more than I could ever have wished for. I know this is down to the efforts of all staff. For that I am ever grateful.
Mum greets everyone with fondness and as if she's known them for years and is joining in the activities regularly. My mother has dementia and has greatly benefited from the stimulation provided by the care home and despite our reservations about moving her, has flourished. Since the initial enquiry and the day my mother moved in at the end of June 2022, the care and attention from all the staff has been amazing and all my questions and concerns have been addressed. It took us a long time to decide to move Mum into a care home and I'm so glad we waited until we found such a lovely one.
Reply from Sharon Wassing, Manager at Brackley Nursing HomeI am so pleased that you are happy with your mother residing at Brackley Care Home. We do understand that it is not an easy decision to make, placing a loved one in a care home. We are really glad that we were able to dispel your fears and concerns. Thank you for the lovely review.

I live in the USA and have had excellent communication with many members of staff via email and phone. It was great to finally meet everyone. The staff were incredibly helpful and answered a variety of questions I had about Dad's care. I was able to join Dad in the daily 'sparkle' activity, where residents
were encouraged to participate and also have lunch with Dad. I was made to feel very much at home and welcome during my visit and was very impressed by the professionalism of the staff.

I visit two other care homes regularly in Northamptonshire. Each time I come to visit my cousin, I thank god that she is here. The staff are wonderful in their care of her. She is always presented clean and well cared for. She continues to show her happy disposition. Although often confused, it is evident
she is happy, contented and well settled into the care home in Brackley.

The Brackley Care Home has been a real from home for my mother-in-law. The staff are all quite amazing in their kindness and dedication to their job. This goes beyond just looking after the resident, but also the comforting and support to the family. I can recommend this care home to anyone looking
for the ideal home for a loved one.

My husband has been staying for a short period of post-operative care. We have been impressed by the bright, friendly atmosphere and can-do attitude. The surroundings are very attractive and my husband has made excellent progress here. I have appreciated the opportunity to take lunch with my husband
and can vouch for the high standard of cuisine. The care staff have been helpful at all times. There was a small issue with one medication running low over the weekend, which was resolved- otherwise 100% full marks.

My mum-in-law seems content and 'at home' in Brackley Care Home. Mum was always a bit of a 'social butterfly', so moving here means she can still enjoy her favourite musical activities, whilst in a safe and caring environment. It’s convenient for visiting and the staff give a warm welcome to the home.
I have sampled the food on a couple of occasions with Mum e.g going in for a lunch together and then at the Platinum Jubilee Celebration and both times, it was varied, beautifully presented and tasted lovely.

Such a very difficult decision we had to make for our mum to go into care. My sister and I have shared Mum's care for over four years, however, Brackley Care Home is so lovely. All the staff are so caring, having been through some very difficult times with Covid. We know our mum is well cared for and
really loved. Our mum is one very special lady, and she is treated with compassion, care and loads of love. Thank you all.

Lovely care home. The grounds and facilities are exceptional. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The care provided for my elderly father was excellent. He liked the food! Would definitely recommend, if you are taking the difficult decision to place a loved elderly relative into care. Thank you

Mum moved into Brackley Care Home in January and since then I have seen her flourish under the care, companionship and kindness of the staff. She regularly joins in and enjoys the activities and has even had the opportunity to take part in two trips out. The moving in process was professional and considerate
and the staff worked hard to navigate the covid protocols efficiently. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process. Thank you for allowing me to be a daughter again.

My mother was a health care professional all her working life, finishing her nursing career as a senior nursing office for the district nursing team in Southport. Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.898)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.898) out of 10 for Brackley Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 66 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 65 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.898 for Brackley Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (717 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 778 Ratings = 4.898
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brackley Nursing Home is based on 65 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 65 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
