other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Lovely environment, warm and friendly. Pretty and comfortable décor. Excellent care, frequent activities and parties for residents with family and friends welcome. We are so happy seeing our mum relaxed and well cared for.

A well deserved five star rating. The home is well equipped and well maintained, staff are competent, caring and a cohesive team. Both our parents have dementia, moving to Heathlands recently. My father is blind with mobility issues and is treated with dignity and respect when helped with self-care
tasks he can no longer do. He is happier than he has been for a long time.


My mother who experiences a lot of confusion is helped by a team who are dedicated and enthusiastic in their knowledge of how to help people with dementia who feel scared and isolated by their experiences. Already she has been calmed and when very confused is able to calm down and self-help with some gentle phrases of reassurance that the care team have repeated to her. When she has a good day there are homely gatherings where she can join in a range of activities in a normal and recognisable way, which also reassures her. Social services and mental health team also feedback to us this is a very good care home.

We have been pleased to see how our mother has thrived during her time at Heathlands. She has flourished mentally and physically and the managers and staff are caring, approachable and helpful. It does feel like her home now and our mum says she is happy to be there.

When we moved my aunt to Cambridge, we were expecting her to move into an extra care flat, as that was her wish (she is fiercely independent) and what she could afford. To ease the transition, we brought her to Heathlands on a respite care basis, while she was assessed by a social worker. She settled
in quickly and it was a huge relief to see my aunt happy, stimulated, relaxed, clean, warm, eating well and receiving her medication regularly.
Staff have always done their utmost to accommodate my aunt's wishes, care for her, entertain and humour her and protect her dignity (ageing is cruel). Without exception, the management, care, admin, domestic and lifestyle staff have been kind, personable and respectful towards my aunt and also to us whenever we have visited.
The care assessment eventually concluded that my aunt's physical and mental condition was such that she needed residential care. All credit to the staff at Heathlands, by that point my aunt actively wanted to stay there.

My father was a resident at Heathlands House Care Home for six months. I was very happy with the care he received and didn't see or overhear anything I wasn't happy with whenever I visited. He was warmly welcomed and helped settle in and his move to the nursing floor was managed very well. The staff
were very professional, warm and respectful to my father and to the whole family, particularly in the weeks before he passed away.

I cannot recommend Heathlands highly enough. My mother moved there at the end of June from an (extremely expensive) care home which had provided very poor levels of care. The transformation in my mother was outstanding. She had been diagnosed with dementia in March, and her language had deteriorated.
However, within three days of moving to Heathlands, her language was improving and soon returned to normal. The defining feature of Heathlands is that they really care for the patients. All the staff are friendly and welcoming to patients and visitors alike. My mother was extremely well cared for and much more content for the final months of her life. A huge thank you to everyone at Heathlands House.

My father-in-law was in the Heathlands family between March and until his death in September 2022. Although he was anxious about going into a home, the staff at Heathlands made his transition so easy. They helped make his room homely and familiar, they cared for his every need and encouraged him to
be happy in his new home. The management team and the staff were so empathetic, caring, and supportive to my father-in-law and to us as family members. In his last few days at the home, the nursing staff could not have done more to make him comfortable and pain-free. Thank you to everyone at Heathlands.

Dad is very well cared for at Heathlands House, he enjoys the social atmosphere while receiving the personal care and attention he needs. Equally the staff are all so friendly with us when visiting Dad or on the phone, they have helped me set up Dads phone and portal, and are always ready to help Dad
make phone calls. Dad invited us to join him in the carol singing, a super evening with carols, mince pies and mulled wine, giving us all a great memory.

I have worked for Care UK previously and began working at Heathlands House in 2022.


I’ve seen the high standard of care for residents and great teams. Everyone is very committed to ensuring that every resident is happy and cared for.


My favourite part of the day is the mornings, when I walk around the home, checking everything is ok, and chatting with residents, relatives and my colleagues.


I am very passionate about delivering person-centred care, I love seeing a smile on the resident’s faces when you have made a difference in their day. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
