Snowdrop Place is a beautiful home, designed for those looking for quality residential care along with a dedicated and supportive community for those with cognitive impairment and living with dementia.

Their luxurious facilities combined with highly trained and caring staff ensures that each and every individual is given quality attention. Many of their staff are responsible for instilling values of respect and dignity. Their person-centred approach will be reflected across all aspects of life within the home including life enriching activities and the day to day enjoyment of social interaction and community living.

After a significant medical procedure, my father enjoyed a brief period of respite at Snowdrop Place.
Upon our first visit and tour, we were struck by the cleanliness and comfort of Snowdrop Place, resembling more of a luxurious 5-star hotel than a typical care home. The staff exhibited friendliness
and professionalism in abundance.
My father's room had a lovely view of the garden, and he received excellent care and attention throughout his stay.
During our visits, the inviting front reception provided a pleasant space to relax, with the added perk of self-serve coffee and the temptation of irresistibly delicious cake.
Without hesitation, I would wholeheartedly recommend Snowdrop Place to others in search of a high-quality care home experience.

Mum has always loved dogs and I knew she enjoyed the regular visits from the PAT dog to the care home. Then recently I saw a photo of her with the dog and she is beaming. It means such a lot to know she has these moments of joy. As a family, we really appreciate all the carers and activity coordinators
do to bring this joy into the lives of the residents.

I cannot praise the staff or facilities at Snowdrop Place, near Hedge End in Hampshire, enough. They cared diligently for my elderly mother who arrived at Snowdrop at a very difficult time in her life. The staff at this care home were both compassionate and patient with my mother during her ten weeks
of respite care, which enabled her to go back to her flat after fully recovering from a badly broken hip and a serious urinary infection.

My friend's mother didn't want to leave her home of 45 years; however, needed additional support prior to an operation. She immediately made some special friends. The staff are amazing; they made her feel special and very much loved. It's a beautiful, kind, caring environment which cannot be recommended

Absolutely excellent. The care is fantastic; it's such a friendly, caring community (family connections). My mother came for respite before her op, and she looks/feels 100% better. It's done her the world of good. If she needs 100% care, it will be here!

Mum first came to Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home for respite care in 2021 but after six weeks decided she wanted to stay. She has become more mobile and certainly enjoys listening to the entertainers/singers who come to the care home. The staff employed to organise activities work hard to encourage
all residents to join in. Mum's favourite has to be the weekly bingo session (as long as she wins). The recent summer BBQ was a big success and as usual, the food provided from the kitchens was delicious. Visitors are made welcome and there are always coffee and biscuits available. To top it all, Mum was taken along with others to the cricket ground to watch a match in August. This was a pastime that she frequently enjoyed over the years.

Mum has really thrived over the last 4 weeks and aside from the usual activities the highlights were the Hawaii themed barbecue for residents and families and the day long outing to watch Hampshire beat Leicestershire at cricket.
The manager and staff really produced a maximum effort and Mum, not famous
for giving praise, was highly delighted. When Mum is happy I am very happy.

Mum has been at Snowdrop Place Care Home for approx 18 months, during this time my sister and I have got to know the staff and we cannot fault a single member. From the wonderful reception team to the amazing care team, we can't thank them enough. Nothing is too much trouble to keep Mum safe, comfortable
and happy and she is treated with dignity and gentle kindness at all times. The housekeeping staff are lovely and keep the premises immaculate, we also think the chefs are amazing too, preparing a lovely selection of freshly cooked food.

Always greeted by a smiling face at reception. My friend tells me she gets on well with everyone. In my experience, while visiting I have felt nothing is too much trouble. It's like a 5* hotel with added care. Well done to all, keep up the good work.

All the staff from carers, housekeeping, kitchen staff and management are all excellent, nothing is too much trouble always have time for a chat with us as a family or my mum who is a resident. They take fantastic care of her and she is really happy at Snowdrops.

Have always bent over backwards to accommodate my mother who has been difficult all her life, sadly now even worse with dementia. The good news is we always have a laugh with staff no matter how bad the day has been. Thank you all for being so kind to her.

From the moment I first entered Snowdrop Place, I was treated with respect, kindness and consideration. The food was always fresh, well-cooked, tasty and well-presented, one small comment would be not enough green veg broccoli, cabbage etc. I was happy and felt safe for the seven weeks I resided there.

My family and my father had a bad experience regarding previous time spent in another care home so we were all hesitant when having to explore options for my father whilst my mother had an operation. However, we need not have worried from the moment I visited this wonderful care home until the moment
we left we, as a family, were treated with the utmost care and respect. We could rest knowing that our father was well cared for and that time was spent with him to ensure that all of his needs were met both physically and emotionally. The staff are all amazing and we could see how they cared and are passionate in their work. The manager met with my mother and me prior to dad coming in and recommend us sending some photos so that they could make a book to help support the transition from home to the setting. We did this and the impact that this had was amazing. We would not hesitate to recommend it and will be back for further support.

I have been pleased with the standard of care received by my mum since she's been a resident.
Sure there were a few teething problems to be expected.
Mum is content there and I have comfort in knowing shes warm, fed and looked after

First experience of life in a care home was positive. At all times I felt safe.
The staff were welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and although at times they seemed short staffed this did not alter the service provided. The food was varied, imaginative and well presented.
My room
was comfortable and spotlessly clean, no one entered without knocking the door. Activities have encouraged me to resume knitting and learning to crochet. You get what you pay for and award is five stars.

I stayed at Snowdrop Place for 2 weeks of respite care. My initial impressions were that the home was offering a five-star facility including a five-star menu to match. However, the food offered at mealtimes sometimes failed to match this. Although I was able to choose my room I was not informed that
scaffolding was to be erected outside. I was not able to use the sink properly due to a faulty sink plug, not rectified during my stay. The staff who cared for me were very kind, caring and helpful but working under extreme pressure.

Hi, my name is Gemma and I am the General Manager here at Snowdrop Place.


I have worked in the healthcare sector since 2015, in both public and independent services. As an experienced General Manager, I qualified as a registered Adult nurse in 2006 from the University of Southampton School of Nursing and Midwifery and then began my nursing career in the social care sector. My love for working with the elderly came like many, from looking after my grandmother in my teenage years.


I am extremely passionate about delivering exceptional, person-centred care to residents and ensuring high standards of support. Residents should have the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest. I enjoy working with residents, their loved ones and the staff team here at Snowdrop Place.

Hi, my name is Nicky and I am the Deputy Manager here at Snowdrop Place. I have a lot of experience working in this field, beginning in 2022 when I began as a part-time carer. I am passionate about my role within the home and team and I love interacting with the residents daily. It brings me joy to make a difference in their lives and to give back to the community in any way that I can.


Outside of my work, I have a busy life as a parent of three teenagers. They keep me on my toes and make sure that I am always on the go.

Outside of work, I love to cook much to the delight of my family and friends, we also enjoy travelling and experiencing different foods, it also gives me a chance to practice my Spanish.

I’m on hand to meet and chat with you, answer all your questions and support you through your decision to seek the perfect home, that offers person-centred care, companionship, well-being and life-enriching experiences whilst enabling the protection of independence and individuality. We really aim to make your journey as easy, stress-free and comfortable as possible as a team.


My career has spanned various sectors, all based around customers, care and people. With a family, I also enjoy making the most of life. Hello, I'm Rachel, and I feel incredibly grateful to be working as Part of the team at Snowdrop Place. As a part of the activities team, I take immense pride in contributing to the life enrichment and day to day routine for our residents. Being able to spend quality time with them, participate in events that they cherish, and encourage their involvement in activities that they love brings me an immense sense of joy and fulfilment.


When I'm not at work, I love to indulge in two of my favourite hobbies - reading and taking my furry friends for long walks. Matilda, my adorable basset, and my rescue dog Massie, are my constant companions. They keep me active and entertained!

Hi, my name is Ashley and  I feel extremely proud to be a part of the Snowdrop team.


I started my journey with Barchester Healthcare as a carer through their sponsorship programme. My role included providing compassionate care to patients and ensuring their daily needs were met with utmost care and attention.


As time went by, I was given the opportunity to develop my skills and progress professionally.


I was also given a chance to become a dementia champion. This role is special to me as it allows me to use my knowledge and experience to support patients with dementia and their families. I strive every day to make a positive impact in their lives and help them to live with dignity and respect.


I am grateful for the opportunities that Barchester Healthcare has given me, and I am proud to be a part of the Snowdrop team.
