Queens View Harbour Care Home located in Troon is a brand new purpose-built home that opened in July 2021 that offers exceptional levels of Residential, Nursing, Respite and Dementia care for the elderly.

Lovely team, very clean, good rooms, mother happy, resident events - lots of fun. We looked at multiple care homes in Ayrshire / Scotland and absolutely nothing compares. Also, it doesn’t have that smell one tends to find in care homes.

My Mum moved into Queens View Harbour just before Christmas. It is an excellent facility, and she has settled in really well. She has dementia, and gets very anxious but the team are well trained to help her and make her feel safe. The standard of the nursing care is very person centric, this, and the
well organised social activities have made an immediate difference to my Mum. She is much less anxious than before, and says that she feels safe and happy in Queens View Harbour. The facilities and activities in the home are excellent, well thought through and extremely high standard. The location is great, being very near the centre of Troon and overlooking the sea. All in, a much easier transition than we had hoped for, in a brilliant environment. A big thank you to all the team, brilliant culture.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Queen's View for six months now and from the minute she stepped through the door, the staff have been fantastic, demonstrating nothing but care and kindness toward her, making her feel welcome and ensuring that her needs are met. There is a happy atmosphere and
nothing is too much for the excellent staff. The coffee shop and lounge areas are lovely, where visitors can have tea or coffee with their loved one or sit and relax in one of the quiet public areas. The Activities Coordinators plan and execute activities that are designed to stimulate the residents with 'fun' being a big part of what they do. It is good that visitors can join in with some of the fun too! These two ladies are exceptional! This is an excellent facility and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is having to make the difficult decision of putting their loved one into residential care.

I think this is an excellent care home. My mother in law is happy and well cared for. There is always a genuine welcome when we come to visit. In my opinion, Queens View sets the standard to which all care homes should aim, it is excellent. I cannot comment on value for money since I don’t know what
it costs.

My gran is very happy here. Staff are lovely, always well taken care of. Always feel very welcome on visits. The staff put on a dinner for my gran’s birthday which had lovely food, Prosecco and tea for no extra charge.

My mum has been a resident in Queens View Harbour Care Homes since September 2022. During this time I feel the staff have made every effort to help Mum integrate with the other residents and meet her needs with considered care. In January 2023 my mum became quite poorly and it was a very worrying time
for everyone. During these weeks, the staff couldn’t have been kinder. The compassion the care team showed to us as a family and the consideration and kindness of the care we witnessed Mum receiving was second to none. We couldn’t have asked for more. As hard as it is to have to make the decision to place a loved one into care, I know that Mum is now safe and well looked after and know we chose the right care home in choosing Queen’s View Harbour.

There are no words that can describe the overall care and support my sister in law is receiving since she was admitted to Queens View. The staff members look after her with tenderness and compassion. As a family, Queens View Harbour has kept us fully briefed on her progress and we thank them for that.
The ambience of the care home surpasses what you would imagine a facility like this can provide. From residents lounges to the cafe and cinema. Absolutely fantastic. Finally, it is impossible to single out individuals who look after her. Everybody does their bit to ensure she is kept safe and well and the reactive way they can attend to her individual needs is amazing. The management team are so approachable and communicate on a regular basis about her care. Can’t praise everyone highly enough.

My mum has been in the home 6 months. She has dementia. On each occasion I have visited, Mum is clean and well cared for. She has been to church services, yoga, played games, listened to ukulele band, danced with the wonderful activities coordinators. Every season of the year has been celebrated - hallowe’en,
bonfire night, Christmas, Burns day, Valentines. As a family, we had a beautiful pre Christmas meal with her and on her birthday, the staff brought a cake and sang happy birthday. We continue to make happy memories with Mum. They listen to any worries we might have and ask if there’s any improvements they could make. We have always found the staff approachable and full of smiles and fun. Best of all, Mum is happy and settled.

Queens View Harbour Care Home provides a very caring and dedicated service to residents. The staff are friendly and welcoming and go above and beyond to ensure that residents’ needs are met. The surroundings, both in public areas and within residents’ own rooms, is of the highest standard whilst creating
a very homely atmosphere. The ‘Cafe’ provides a relaxing area where residents can meet with their visitors and enjoy a tea or coffee. My friend has participated in a number of the activities on offer which provides an opportunity to make new friends. The general ambience and high level of care reassures me that my friend is enjoying the best possible care at this sensitive time of her life.

My 78-year-old mother is recovering from a fall and broken leg, with complications relating to other conditions, not least advanced Parkinson's. She has benefited to an extraordinary degree, having been resident within Queens View Harbour for 12 weeks. From meeting with the Home Manager in my mother's
own home prior to admission and to the attention and unfailing good humour of her senior carer and her team the experience, care and outcome end to end have been exemplary. The resident-centred values are a constant throughout the home - recommended without caveat or hesitation.

My dad recently became a resident of Queens View and from the initial visit until he moved in, I have nothing but praise. The decision to place a parent in a care facility is such a difficult one but the staff at Queens View have made it so much easier for us. The care and kindness shown towards my

My mum only spent a few short weeks in the Queens View Harbour Care Home. During that time the care, compassion and kindness she received from all members of the care home team were exemplary. The same kindness was extended to my whole family and the support they provided at the time of my mum's passing
was just wonderful. I am so glad that we were able to have my mum in the care of this wonderful team in the final weeks of her life.

In my role as a private carer, I am frequently asked by family members to assist someone who is either a full-time resident or on a short stay (respite) within a care home setting. On this particular occasion, I was assisting someone who was taking a short break at Queens View Harbour Care Home. The
home was easy to find with plenty of parking at the rear. On arrival, we were greeted with coffee and cakes and made to feel very welcome. The room was spacious and bright with a view of the sea. The staff were friendly, attentive and approachable. The activities available throughout the day encouraged my client to make the most of their stay. The on-site amenities, which included a self-service coffee lounge, a hair salon, a cinema room and private dining lounges for residents and guests, were excellent. In comparison to the many other homes where I have worked, this is by far the best in terms of the quality of care provided and the home-like environment. My dad had respite care at Queens View Harbour; he had the most wonderful care. The staff are warm and friendly, and they took the time to get to know my dad. He is quite shy but was encouraged to join in with activities, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We hope that he will eventually go back to take up
full-time residence, but in the meantime, I have nothing but gratitude for everyone at Queens View Harbour.

My mum was in Queens View for four months from September 2021 until January 2022 when she sadly passed away. The care and attention she received during that time was second to none. One of her highlights was getting her hair done and having a gin and tonic at the same time. The cafe downstairs with
tea, coffee and cakes is a lovely place to go and sit with your loved one during visits. All the rooms and facilities are kept immaculately clean. The staff at Queens View are all kind and compassionate, but also light-hearted and friendly. In Mum's last days, the palliative care provided was all we could have wished for and we cannot praise the staff highly enough.

One year ago my husband moved into his new home - Queens View Harbour Care Home. He was one of the first to do so. It is a beautiful home with stunning views over the harbour and coast. Everything is perfect - the decor, food, facilities, cleanliness and social interaction. My husband was diagnosed
with Alzheimer’s in 2013 and this is his 9th year on his journey. His needs are great and the carers are wonderful, treating him with kindness, respect and dignity. I visit most days and as such have got to know the staff very well. I can see that my husband’s needs are being met and when I leave I do so in the knowledge that he is in safe hands. Thank you to the manager and the whole team for the wonderful job that you do.

Mum has dementia and we reluctantly had to accept she could no longer live independently. As soon as Mum moved into Queens View we saw a marked improvement in her mobility, general health and level of contentment. The facilities are outstanding, staff are always friendly and helpful and there are many
activities organised. We can now relax knowing Mum is being so well looked after. Any health issues are dealt with immediately, including accompanying Mum to hospital when I couldn’t. I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone looking for a place, for a loved one.

What a fantastic place. We have complete peace of mind knowing that our mother is being looked after in a safe, happy and caring environment. Moving a parent into a care facility is never easy, but the management team at Queens View Harbour made the process as simple and understandable as possible,
dealing sensitively and comprehensively with all our questions. Without exception, the staff at Queens View Harbour are kind and attentive, treating our mum in a personal, caring and compassionate manner. The facilities are excellent throughout, befitting a top-end hotel with every conceivable need catered for. There are frequent events and activities which keep Mum occupied, engaged and happy, while still being able to carry on with most of her existing social activities and engagements.
We are always welcomed and feel very much part of the Queens View Harbour family when we visit. We could not be happier with the accommodation, facilities and level of care that our Mum is receiving at Queens View Harbour.

Maggie’s wonderful organisational skills and team management bring a much-appreciated level of professionalism to the home and she enjoys her role and the friendly environment and loves making new friends with the residents and their families.

Liz joined the Queens View Harbour Administrative team in October 2021 and has brought with her a wealth of administrative and organisation skills to the home. Liz’s previous roles include Manager, Head Receptionist, and Wedding Co-ordinator with 2 prestigious West of Scotland Hotels. Liz’s IT and organisational skills have helped shape the backbone of the supremely well-organised and excellent record keeping which the home has benefited from since she started. With her friendly smile and willingness to assist with any query big or small, she is a huge asset to the team.

Linsey joined the Queens View Harbour Reception Team in 2022 after trialling early retirement and deciding it wasn’t quite for her just yet. Linsey comes from an administrative background and gained a Degree in Admin Management and Marketing. For the last 20 years, she has worked as a PA and Admin Manager for a private hospital in Ayrshire and has had a long career dealing with NHS and private Consultants, GPs, Care Inspectors and has a wealth of knowledge required for dealing with both the public and professionals within the community. Being from Troon, Linsey is loving meeting friends old and new who pass through the doors of Queens View Harbour and she has found working with the residents to be an absolute joy.

Brenda Haywood

Job Title: Receptionist Joined: 2022

Brenda joined Queens View Harbour Care Home in October 2022 and has become a much-liked and respected member of the Reception Team by residents, staff, and visitors alike. Brenda previously grew up in Ireland and then went on to live and work in New York and then London. Brenda and her family have spent a number of years in Abu Dhabi and returned to her husband Ian’s home town of Troon last year. In Abu Dhabi, Brenda was a Sales Manager for a Cleaning Company. Brenda loves to travel but is enjoying being back in Troon where she likes walking along the beach in her spare time. With her lovely smile and sunny personality, Brenda is a welcome face and a very valued member of the QVH team.
