Mum is very happy at Canterbury House, Faversham. We know she is secure, well cared for and her needs are met. The 'day' staff are particularly kind and caring.

My mum has been in Canterbury House for just over two weeks & they have exceeded our expectations. We know not only is my mum so very well cared for, we know she is safe and fed (she loves the food!). I love that they have so much for the residents to do, even when they are a bit reserved to join in. They just don't give up encouraging them. My mum initially came on respite but we knew very soon this was a great place for her to call her home.

Value for money - difficult to answer this question it seems very expensive.

My concern - If a certain member of staff is on another shift, the activities for that day do not happen or are sketchy. Occasionally the activity eg. 'small animals' visit is very engaging for the residents, they come alive, even the residents who don't usually join in.

When visiting the resident, I was warmly welcomed by all reception staff. The resident I visit is always cared for with all individual needs. The cleanliness, food and drink are all excellent. I never need to worry when I am not with the resident as she is in very safe hands. I would definitely recommend Canterbury House, such an exceptional care home.

Excellent facility - Reception area has seasional displays teas coffee refreshment readily available. Amazing like walking into a hotel. Connection between staff residents and visitors, caring and kind. The garden room - sky bar and lirary are great areas to sit and socialize with residents. The only negative is the name - Canterbury House - I am asked where is it - Canterbury, no Faversham.

From first contact with Canterbury House, Faversham I have been impressed with the professionalism of staff and the facilities. My mother has been met with respect and empathy and this has really helped her settle in. She has some specific needs and these have been met. We have met with team leaders, both chefs and noting we have needed has been an issue. Mum is always the focus and the staff always address her rather than me so she is included and can be part of any situation considered. I have heard good things and this home & staff live up to the feedback. Very impressed nothing is too much trouble.

Upon visiting Mum after being out of the country for a few months, it was nice to see familiar faces greeting me like a family friend. The home was still a warm & friendly place. The only change was within the management team, which seemed to be running smoothly. When I took Mum out for the day and we returned it was nice to hear her say "I'm glad to be home". Thank you to everyone involved.

The care home has been welcoming and friendly. All the staff in every area have been helpful and kind. The room has been pleasant and comfortable to stay in. The help with personal care has been very good when it has been needed. Extra help was needed, and given when there was a problem with my wound, the staff were very kind and got medical assistance. The residents were also welcoming and friendly. The activities and pampering have been enjoyable. Hair and nails - very good. Lovely to go outside & see the planting and walk in the grounds. Mealtimes have been really good. Food & company were lovely.

Living in another county, I only get to visit my mother at different times of the year, but on each visit I found the staff accommodating, and impressed with their ability to remember all the residents names! The rooms are services daily, and cleaning is a constant. However sometimes on arrival it can take several minutes to enter the building in nobody is on reception and someone has been sitting just inside the doors unaware of us trying to enter. Overall it is a warm caring establishment and a joke can be shared with the staff too!

My father has to be taken to hospital the day after he became a resident. I cannot fault the way the care home staff dealt with this. He was reassured all the way and I had frequent phone calls to keep me updated. He was back in his new home the next day and able to start the settling in process. Whilst most residents seem to enjoy watching TC in the lounge it is nice that there is somewhere quiet that is available for him to sit and read his book, whilst still being in a communal area. I find this comforting to know that he is not isolating himself in his room.

Staff are kind and caring but often very stretched - more staff would be better on dementia floor. Management is good and responsive to any queries or concerns.

Laundry service has improved, however cleaning is not always ideal e.g food under sofas in lounge for several days, residents toilet needs more frequent monitoring (hard to keep up!). Overall the experience is positive and my husband is happy and well looked after.

My partner has been in Canterbury House since November 2021 but recently his condition (parkinson's and dementia) has deteriorated. The staff have all coped with him very well, they are caring, compassionate and very helpful. They keep me informed of any changes in his condition, and of any OP visits. The manager is very approachable and always happy to answer question and discuss his care needs. The whole staff are lovely to me when I visit and I am confident that my partner is in good hands is treated with respect. Very happy with everything at Canterbury House.

My 97 year old mother to Canterbury House six months ago, initially on respite after a hospital visit. Despite being incredibly anxious initially mother has settled well and is very proud of her room. She partakes of many of the activities arrange and particularly enjoys games and knit and natter group. She enjoys the food and eats well. Mum recently told me that she finds all the care staff are good to her and treat her well. As a family, we are pleased with the way mum has settled in and is flourishing.
