I cannot put into words the relief we felt to find my mother-in-law in such a clean, well-organised and happy care home. Most importantly, the level of genuine concern for her levels of comfort and happiness shown by the carers was quite exceptional - second to none! We live abroad and can now relax knowing that she is being looked after so well.

Thank you for leaving this review. Choosing a care home is a big decision especially when you are living so far away. I am delighted to know that you are happy with the service that we provide and that you can relax, knowing that your mother-in-law is in safe hands.

Wonderful care home which is light and spacious. Tastefully decorated with lots of different seating areas. Attention to detail is amazing and a great deal of thought has been given to every aspect of the home; from the table linen in the dining room, wide corridors, the interesting objet d’art and pictures on the wall to the delightful tea-room. It even has a resident’s cinema and there are lots of activities.

The staff are incredible - so caring, good-humoured and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. It’s obvious that the care and well-being of the residents is paramount and visitors are given a warm welcome. This care home in my opinion is a five-star establishment! My mum has settled in well as a result of the truly amazing staff and terrific environment. I would have no hesitation in recommending Canterbury House Care Home and its exceptional team to anyone.

This purpose-built facility ticks all the boxes. Unfortunately due to Covid some of the activities had to be cancelled.

Overall Experience

Having stayed in one of the rooms for eight nights when my mum was very poorly over the Christmas/New Year period I can confirm that Canterbury House Care Home has the feeling of a lovely hotel but with a family atmosphere. I was made to feel so welcome. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable (thank you housekeeping) and the resident’s laundry is done with great care. I can also say that while I lived there the cheerful, good-humoured staff remained the same at all times. Both the day and night staff are compassionate, professional, good-humoured, patient and caring every single minute of every day. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum was never treated as just another resident. The staff took the time to get to know her and I feel they really, truly cared about her. I am completely humbled by everything they do every day and take my hat off to them as they are not often shown much gratitude! I feel so lucky to have found Canterbury House and can never thank the staff enough for what they do.

Amazing, caring, friendly team. Absolutely first-class in every way. Mum felt very well looked after and never once said she wanted to go home. She made new friends, mixed with other residents which she would find hard normally to do. Very kind and caring to all visitors too.

I am literally blown away by Canterbury House and its wonderful staff. My mother has recently moved into what we were hoping would be her permanent and final new home. This is always a very difficult process and one that I have found particularly difficult but the manager and staff at Canterbury House have been absolutely amazing and supportive. My mother has only been there a very short time and is very settled already and everything Canterbury House do is genuinely caring, professional and incredibly reassuring. The premises are brand new and the facilities are amazing. The residents have a range of social activities and wonderful meals served to them every day. It's a beautiful home in every way. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
