My wife has now been in the care home for over 2 months and has settled in well thanks to the friendly atmosphere of all the staff. When I visit, all the staff have made the effort to call you by your first name, which is good. Management keep me up to date with my wife's needs and moods which puts
my mind to rest that her needs are being cared for. In the first few weeks, we had a few complaints regarding general cleanliness, this has now been attended to.

It has been good to be part of the start of this care home. All brand new - delightful decor! Staff are warm, caring and ensure the welfare of the residents is paramount. As a visiting relative, I feel welcomed and am confident that my beloved mum is being well looked after. Catering could be upgraded.

When I first walked through the doors of Alma Barn Lodge, I felt not only the people but the building wrapped itself around me - I knew there and then this was the right place for my friend and the family agreed. My dear friend spent her final days being cared for by people that really cared, she loved
her room and the beautiful views.

My Mum went for respite care at Alma Barn but realised very quickly that her quality of life would be greatly improved by becoming a full-time resident. This decision became apparent very quickly, not just because the home is a lovely building but the helpfulness of the staff and the atmosphere you
feel could not be faulted.

Excellent care home, lovely people to deal with across the board including customer relations, admin, nursing, and resident care. Looked for a local care home after my mother became unable to live independently through ill health but lived 200 miles away. Alma Barn Lodge Care Home stood out and they
have been a joy to work with and arranged for my mother to move there, where she is very happy. There is a family atmosphere with all the staff knowing the residents by name, knowledgeable about their likes, and having an active interest in their health. The residents are treated with such care, kindness, and dignity. I feel my mother has been looked after to a very high standard. I'm informed when there are any changes to mum's health, and I feel very comfortable talking to the Customer Relations Manager and the nursing staff about any matters at all. They are very active in getting any additional medical attention including district nurses, doctors, and hospital. Brilliant care home, lovely people, happy mum!

Sanjeev Kanoria (MBBS, FRCS, MBA, PhD)

Job Title: Owner and Chairman

Sanjeev is a doctor, scientist and entrepreneur. A liver transplant surgeon who has worked at some of the best liver transplant centres internationally, Sanjeev received a category 1 PhD from University College London, for seminal work in reducing liver injury. He has published numerous scientific papers on liver transplant and robotics in major scientific journals and was an invited author for the chapter on liver diseases in the oldest and most well-known textbook for surgery, the Bailey & Love surgery textbook, read by thousands of surgical students around the world.


Sanjeev received an MBA from London Business School and worked at McKinsey & Co in London. Along with his wife, Sanjeev is the owner and Co-Founder of Advinia Health Care Ltd with 3,300 care home beds in the UK providing high-quality care to those living with dementia, or needing nursing care, and providing employment to more than 3,000 people.
