It was a very difficult decision to move our Mum into permanent care, but as her Dementia took hold we all recognised she needed 24 her care which we were unable to provide. From the outset, Lakeview Grange has treated Mum with dignity and respect. The Home is very welcoming - all staff go out of their
way to chat and acknowledge us.
Mum is extremely happy in her new environment (she has been at Lakeview for just over a year). she is regularly taken out and about. There are a variety of activities to join in with over the course of the week. Family suggestions are taken into consideration and help is always there if and when it is needed.
Thank you Lakeview Grange!

My mother moved into Lakeview 6 months ago and I cannot fault the care and the kindness from all the staff. The cafe area where residents can invite relatives and friends and offer them refreshments maintains dignity and independence. All the rooms are beautiful and well-maintained, I would highly recommend
Lakeview Grange.

Moving my partner who has a serious memory problem into a care home was not totally unexpected but was precipitated by a fall at home.
Right from the start of my first investigative visit and then the subsequent need for a rapid admission -I cannot praise the team at Lakeview enough - they have been
exemplary during this extremely difficult time of moving someone does not realise or accept there is a problem which I can no longer manage.
Total professionalism and importantly assessing and being aware of my partner's personality and individual requirements ensuring that her day is well spent doing things that are appropriate and enjoyable to her. (In fact, a far better job than I have done or could do)
The team's support for me has been unstinting and very welcome. The staff are always friendly and helpful creating a calm friendly atmosphere.
The property, facilities and catering are excellent and live up to brochure and website descriptions.

I was able to visit Lakeview Grange in the summer of 2024 for my sister who was moving here from Surrey. My niece and I had an immediate good feeling here, It was on first impressions really ideal, spacious tastefully presented rooms, a feeling of warm welcome, as it has been as I found myself suddenly
here with a foot injury following a fall in my flat. It is extremely well run with willing and friendly staff to fulfill every need and also while always busy nothing is too much trouble and it has a very pleasant quiet tranquility at all times.

Upon identifying Lakeview Grange based on convenient location for transferring our relative to be nearer to us for visiting on a more regular basis, we have been very impressed and made very welcome. The facilities available are excellent for all needs, food is cooked on the premises and always looks
appetising. Weekly programme of activities is available with varied content to suit everyone. We have identified Lakeview as a happy peaceful environment enjoyed by residents, family and staff.

Lakeview Grange is very much the best of the best in every respect. The staff are so caring and go out of their way to see you are comfortable and have all you need. The response to the call button is rapid and faultless. I was here for four weeks in 2023 and have no hesitation to spend 2 weeks here
in 2024 as my husband is away and I refer to the place as a five-star holiday hotel. Thanks to all the staff for my care.

My wife and I were most impressed with our introductory tour of Lakeview Grange and that has been confirmed since we moved in for a few weeks. The quality of the furnish throughout the accommodation is repeated in all the facilities. This is also reflected in the excellent standard of the food and the
active support of the staff.

I chose Lakeview Grange for my aunt after looking at several Care homes in the area. She had a fall and fractured her hip and was in hospital for a couple of months. I was advised that she could no longer live alone. From the first contact and visit, I was very impressed. I was also nervous about how
she would settle in as she had been a very independent woman. I needn't have worried. She has been treated with respect and dignity from day 1. The staff are lovely and very attentive, the facilities are luxurious and the food is marvellous. Just as importantly she is very happy and content. There are plenty of entertainments and after a little encouragement,t she often attends. She was 100 this year and the staff kindly gave her a lovely afternoon tea with some bubbly and she felt like a queen for the day!
I have recommended Lakeview Grange to a friend for her father and she is also very happy with his care.

My Mother was a resident of several (expensive) care homes (not local) and this one at Chichester is the best, where I have another relative. I have also viewed many more when selecting. Lakeview Grange is still the best. They have adapted well to our resident and even taken on an outing, which they
enjoyed. The staff are all very helpful and have patience.
- Did not agree with initial 'lockdown' for resident for his first month! Not enough parking and deliveries should be in a separate area.

I was delighted by the kind and professional care I received at Lakeview Grange. Having broken my ankle very badly I knew I would not return home until I was able to weight bear after surgery. After a horrendous short stay at an alternative nursing home. It was so comforting to receive such a warm and
thorough admission procedure to ascertain my needs and these were met throughout my 3 week stay. Without exception, the carers were kind, prompt and professional. The room was luxurious and the food was very good. I am so grateful to everyone and will miss them!

I couldn't have been more pleased with Lakeview and its staff.
My mother needed respite care after a major heart attack and she was looked after very well both by the staff and the contractors (particularly the physio) such that she has been able to return home much earlier than any of the family could
have expected. The admission process was slick enabling us to move Mum from a cardiac ward quickly and easily. She made many friends whilst there and it would be fair to say she will miss being there.
It was such a weight off the family's mind to know that she was well looked after and really enjoying her time there.

My uncle was a resident for nearly a year and was treated with dignity and respect, the staff took their time to engage with him at every opportunity and he was stimulated and happy. There was a lovely French carer, not sure of his name now who was particularly wonderful with him. The whole place feels
like a hotel, not a care home. The dining room dressed wonderfully, the food excellent even wine and in doing so it treats the elderly like valued people, not in-patients. The entertainment schedule was varied and they even have a cinema room and guest dining room to use. I just can't fault it, was wonderful knowing he was being cared for so well in such a lovely environment and just a shame he couldn't have stayed longer.

My experience with Lakeview Grange has been nothing short of fantastic, starting right from my first contact with them, through the admission of my mother over a year ago, and continuing to last week, when they hosted her 100th birthday party. Living overseas, I rely on good communication, which get
regularly by email and by video call chats with my mother, which the staff facilitate. On my visits, the staff always remember me and are very warm and friendly. The home is absolutely immaculate, beautifully designed, decorated, and maintained, and could easily be mistaken for a 5-star hotel. Not only the carers, but all the other staff too, are very helpful, personable, competent, and provide excellent care - they are clearly not just "doing their job" but are committed and genuine. The food is excellent and varied and cannot be faulted. No care home is cheap, but I can't imagine a better setting or a better staff at any cost.

My father has only been in Lakeview for a month but has really improved since living here. The staff are absolutely amazing, so respectful, so kind, so patient and encouraging. I can't speak highly enough about all of the staff at Lakeview. There are activities every day which are well run and thought
out and the lady is very encouraging in getting the residents to join in and socialise. The interior design and layout are fabulous, more like a five-star hotel with everything you could need to be comfortable and we really enjoy the cinema facility and coffee area with homemade cakes every day. The gardens are well maintained, the bedroom is clean, spacious and light and Dad enjoys all his meals. This is a lovely place, is more like being in a community than being in a care home. I would like to thank every single member of staff who has helped with Dad's care - you are amazing and an absolute credit! Thank you so much.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.929)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.929) out of 10 for Lakeview Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 61 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 61 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.929 for Lakeview Grange is calculated as follows: ( (671 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 719 Ratings = 4.929
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lakeview Grange is based on 61 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 61 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I ensure Lakeview Grange remains compliant with rules and regulations whilst ensuring that the residents’ experience remains a positive and happy one, ensuring that residents have access to daily activities and are able to pursue their day freely and with choice.

I have worked in care for 5 and a half years. I spent a year and a half as a Bank Care Assistant and then a Care Assistant before moving up to becoming a Senior Care Assistant for a year. Following this I was a Head Of Care for 3 years before I then made my move to Lakeview Grange to become one of two Deputy Managers.
I am an individual who stumbled into care following graduating from the University of West of England with a degree in Business Management with Economics, and have now worked in care since. I am passionate about ensuring that everyone receives the best possible care they can have, whilst also remaining happy and safe. In my spare time, I enjoy watching multiple sports as well as socialising with my friends and family.

Job Title: Home Admissions Advisor

In my role, I work with families and friends who are looking for a care home for their loved one. From the moment they make their enquiry for care to when they move their loved one into Lakeview Grange, I ensure their journey goes as smoothly as possible by supporting them every step of the way for a smooth transition.

I started my career in care as a retirement housing manager in Central London, and for the last 20 years, I have supported Home Admission Advisors with training in care homes across the country. In the last 3 years, I have stepped down from a regional role and decided to focus on just one care Home, hence my role at Lakeview Grange. I treat every family with dignity and respect and will go above and beyond to ensure family members receive the support they need in helping them to make the right decisions for, what can be a very emotional experience.

Born in South London and now living in Chichester with my partner. Between us, we have four children who have all flown the nest.

My family mean the world to me, and I try to meet with them as much as possible. Being happy with a positive attitude is my attitude to life.

Job Title: Activities Co-ordinator Joined: 2023

My role involves creating a varied and exciting Activity Plan reflecting residents’ individual hobbies and shared interests, with daily physical activities (including ‘Zing’ our in-house exercises) and chances for new opportunities.

Maintaining old, and building new, relationships are vital, and we welcome visitors, volunteers and local groups.

Equally key for wellbeing is getting out whether in and around Chichester or using our accessible garden.

Activities also encompass cultural and religious beliefs, as well as National Holidays and events. As a whole Home, we will celebrate with fun ‘Theme Days’ involving food, music, art & craft and Fancy Dress and competitions.

For the last 7 years, I’ve been a Care Home Activities Co-Ordinator, where I completed my ‘Active Engagement’ Apprenticeship. Before, I cared for my dad (who was blind and terminally ill) and then my Mum (who had physical disabilities and Dementia). Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked in many Social Care sectors as a Carer, Manager and qualified as a Master of Social Work.

With my Degree in English & Drama, I write and perform in a Theatre Group, I’m in various Choirs and volunteer at my Community Cinema. I love ‘Nostalgia’ and Classic Cars - sharing a ‘Moggy Minor’ with my partner. We also share our cat and dog, and a love of history, travel, pub quizzes and being by the sea.

Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor Joined: 2025

I support the Housekeeping team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.

I have worked for over 25 years in the Care sector in the West Sussex area. Over the past 5 years
I moved to Scotland with my husband, where I was offered the opportunity to run the housekeeping department for a 5-star hotel. Client expectations were very high, and I enjoyed the challenge to maintain a well-presented hotel that had an extremely good reputation. I had the pleasure of meeting top celebrities like Robson Green and Rick Astley.

My family are my world. Married for 42 years and lucky to have 3 wonderful children and 4 amazing grandchildren.
When I do get some ‘downtime’, I like to read, shop until I drop, and book holidays abroad.
