Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
This care home is the best I have ever encountered and I have visited many. I wanted to place my elderly parents 95 and 89 years of age in respite care whilst my husband and I took a 2 week cruise. The moment I walked in the door and was met by the general manager I immediately knew it was the place
for my parents. I was met with such a warm professional welcome. My parents stayed for 2 weeks in March 2023. The care staff were fantastic. Kind and caring. Nothing too much trouble. The food was excellent. My husband and I were invited to lunch on the day we collected my parents. Truly delicious and well presented food.
My parents thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and I can honestly say I would have no hesitation in recommending Lakeview Grange Care Home to anyone. It has the best environment, care, staff, and activities. A big thank you for looking after my dear parents so well. We will see you all again in the future. A five star experience. Excellent.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother received a tremendous welcome when she started her respite stay at Lakeview Grange just over two weeks ago with flowers from the team and special memories from home, such as family photographs, already in her room. With her mobility and general health having deteriorated since her first visit,
the general manager and staff have all shown their determination to help her to recover physically and rediscover her spark. They have encouraged her to walk as much as she is able, join in all activities and always have time for a chat and a laugh. She has already made terrific progress and I cannot thank everyone enough for the care and attention they have given mum and every member of the family who has visited. Mum appears happy, comfortable, motivated and healthy in her new surroundings and her only concern seems to be how long she is allowed to stay. I was delighted to inform the general manager that she would like to become a permanent resident. Thanks to a truly dedicated team.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My relative moved to Lakeview Grange this week, this could have been a very difficult time for them but the welcome received made them feel so much more relaxed and happy. Whilst of course it is still early days I have been very impressed by the management and staff at the home and any request has been
dealt with promptly and with understanding.

As a family we are looking forward to seeing how the activities engage with my relative and whilst I have not witnessed yet, from the initial interaction from the Activities Coordinator who actually wrote to my relative before she moved in introducing herself, this too, bodes well.

Food and hospitality so far have been excellent. Well done to General Manager and his team!

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.931)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.931) out of 10 for Lakeview Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 63 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 63 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.931 for Lakeview Grange is calculated as follows: ( (694 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 742 Ratings = 4.931
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lakeview Grange is based on 63 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 63 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2020

I have worked in the care industry for 20 years and have held a range of positions from Carer to Registered Manager. I have always worked in elderly care, including Dementia and Palliative care. I have held the position of Home Manager for the last eight years.

I love the satisfaction of making a positive difference, however great or small, in the life of someone less able than I, whatever stage of life they have reached. Outside of work, I have a fiancé and three children that keep me busy. I also enjoy cooking, gardening and reading.

I ensure Lakeview Grange remains compliant with rules and regulations whilst ensuring that the residents’ experience remains a positive and happy one, ensuring that residents have access to daily activities and are able to pursue their day freely and with choice.

I have worked in care for 5 and a half years. I spent a year and a half as a Bank Care Assistant and then a Care Assistant before moving up to becoming a Senior Care Assistant for a year. Following this I was a Head Of Care for 3 years before I then made my move to Lakeview Grange to become one of two Deputy Managers.
I am an individual who stumbled into care following graduating from the University of West of England with a degree in Business Management with Economics, and have now worked in care since. I am passionate about ensuring that everyone receives the best possible care they can have, whilst also remaining happy and safe. In my spare time, I enjoy watching multiple sports as well as socialising with my friends and family.

Job Title: Home Admissions Advisor

In my role, I work with families and friends who are looking for a care home for their loved one. From the moment they make their enquiry for care to when they move their loved one into Lakeview Grange, I ensure their journey goes as smoothly as possible by supporting them every step of the way for a smooth transition.

I started my career in care as a retirement housing manager in Central London, and for the last 20 years, I have supported Home Admission Advisors with training in care homes across the country. In the last 3 years, I have stepped down from a regional role and decided to focus on just one care Home, hence my role at Lakeview Grange. I treat every family with dignity and respect and will go above and beyond to ensure family members receive the support they need in helping them to make the right decisions for, what can be a very emotional experience.

Born in South London and now living in Chichester with my partner. Between us, we have four children who have all flown the nest.

My family mean the world to me, and I try to meet with them as much as possible. Being happy with a positive attitude is my attitude to life.

Job Title: Activities Co-ordinator Joined: 2023

My role involves creating a varied and exciting Activity Plan reflecting residents’ individual hobbies and shared interests, with daily physical activities (including ‘Zing’ our in-house exercises) and chances for new opportunities.

Maintaining old, and building new, relationships are vital, and we welcome visitors, volunteers and local groups.

Equally key for wellbeing is getting out whether in and around Chichester or using our accessible garden.

Activities also encompass cultural and religious beliefs, as well as National Holidays and events. As a whole Home, we will celebrate with fun ‘Theme Days’ involving food, music, art & craft and Fancy Dress and competitions.

For the last 7 years, I’ve been a Care Home Activities Co-Ordinator, where I completed my ‘Active Engagement’ Apprenticeship. Before, I cared for my dad (who was blind and terminally ill) and then my Mum (who had physical disabilities and Dementia). Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked in many Social Care sectors as a Carer, Manager and qualified as a Master of Social Work.

With my Degree in English & Drama, I write and perform in a Theatre Group, I’m in various Choirs and volunteer at my Community Cinema. I love ‘Nostalgia’ and Classic Cars - sharing a ‘Moggy Minor’ with my partner. We also share our cat and dog, and a love of history, travel, pub quizzes and being by the sea.

Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor Joined: 2025

I support the Housekeeping team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.

I have worked for over 25 years in the Care sector in the West Sussex area. Over the past 5 years
I moved to Scotland with my husband, where I was offered the opportunity to run the housekeeping department for a 5-star hotel. Client expectations were very high, and I enjoyed the challenge to maintain a well-presented hotel that had an extremely good reputation. I had the pleasure of meeting top celebrities like Robson Green and Rick Astley.

My family are my world. Married for 42 years and lucky to have 3 wonderful children and 4 amazing grandchildren.
When I do get some ‘downtime’, I like to read, shop until I drop, and book holidays abroad.
