A very caring and well run home. Staff are dedicated and cheerful, keen to help and listen to any concerns. Plenty of activities arranged from musical acts to nursery children visiting to Chinese supper nights. Family are involved in all decision making and kept up to date with any changes or issues. GP visits are weekly and infections etc are picked up and dealt with quickly. Dedicated nurse is a point of contact for your relative and are happy to discuss how they are and if there is anything they need. Rooms are lovely and cleaned thoroughly. Mum is calm and contented.
Nursery children one week, a Chinese supper night the next - our Wellbeing and Lifestyle team do enjoy keeping everyone guessing, so it's good to know the variety lands well. Being kept properly in the loop matters just as much, and we're pleased that having a familiar point of contact has made...
I am writing this review on behalf of my Mum. She stayed in Lovells for 2 weeks for respite and to see how she got on. She will need a further period of respite in September for longer and I have no doubt about booking her into Lovells again. Mum surprised us all by thoroughly enjoying her stay. It isn't easy to let a loved one go. The staff were very friendly, polite and professional. They went above and beyond to make Mum welcome and comfortable throughout her time there. She had a lovely room (apartment) which catered for all of her needs. Lovells doesn't present like your everyday care home. It feels more like a luxury hotel. The staff clearly enjoy what they do and treat the residents like real people. It feels more like a family set up. There is always plenty to do. You can get involved or not in the activities. There's a hairdressers, a beauty bar and a coffee area. I have to particularly thank Jasmin, Marla the Manager and the Nurse for their kindness, support and feedback.
Handing over your mum's care for a fortnight is a big step, so hearing that she surprised you all by thoroughly enjoying it is about the best news we could have had. We're glad she could dip into the activitie, and that the whole place felt more like family than a care home; that's very much the...
Mum has been at Lovell Place for 2 years. Despite having lived in her family home for over 60 years the care and support shown by staff has continued since the day she moved in, making her feel respected & special. She calls it her home and loves spending time there, enjoying the activities provided and the modern, clean and friendly environment. I enjoy visiting her in the home 3 or 4 times a week and always feel welcome. Any comments by me or Mum are always taken seriously and any ailments/illness treated so caringly. We could not have chosen a better place for Mum to spend the remainder of her time in this quality care home. I do often recommend it to others. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Lovell Place
After more than sixty years in her family home, hearing that your mum now calls Lovell Place hers is the highest compliment we could be paid. Two years on, it's lovely that the welcome still feels the same for you as well, whether it's your first visit of the week or your fourth. Knowing you both...
From the very beginning, the team have been friendly, helpful and caring. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the home is always spotless, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble.
It's a huge reassurance to know there are nurses on site 24/7, especially as Dad's diabetes needs to be closely monitored day and night. The nurses have provided lots of information and have gone to great lengths to really help us to get better control of this - something we've struggled with for a long time.
There are plenty of activities for Dad to enjoy and, above all, he is happy, relaxed and making new friends!
We couldn't be happier with Dads' decision to stay. I would highly recommend Lovell Place to anyone looking for a lovely, hotel-like environment with professional and genuinely caring people.
A respite stay that turns into a decision to stay for good says everything - your dad clearly feels at home here, and that's exactly what we hope for. It's especially good to hear that having nurses on site around the clock has brought real reassurance, and that they've been able to work alongside...
A very nice suite of rooms which made the respite care so much easier for my Mum. She had her own lounge and a small kitchen, in addition to the en suite bedroom. Very friendly staff and a nice cafe downstairs.
What a lovely thing to read - thank you. Respite is often a big step for a family, so knowing the suite worked so well for your mum, with her own lounge and kitchen alongside the en-suite bedroom, means a great deal to us. It's wonderful too that she found the team friendly and enjoyed the caf. We'll happily pass your kind words on to everyone at Lovell Place.
I have loved my time here. I didn't think I would experience the older people here was friendly and very welcoming ever day. The staff cannot do any more than they do. Nothing is too much. The people working in reception are very friendly and are always happy to help. Overall the staff and everyone else has helped me settle in.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your kind feedback with us. It means a great deal to our team and we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We wish you all the best at home.
Mum stayed at Lovall Place for 2 weeks whilst we had a holiday. She loved it. It was her holiday. Five star all inclusive. It was 6 weeks ago and she is still talking about it. I think she's looking for a job as she spends a lot of time recommending it to all her lady friends. Special thanks to all the staff who she can't speak highly enough. Now she can't wait for us to be off on holiday again !!! For those who can remember..she was Maggs the sherry queen. Oops now I'm in trouble !!
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your kind feedback with us. We're truly delighted to hear that your Mum had such a positive and comfortable stay, and that her experience with us was an enjoyable one. It means a great deal to our team to know that we were able to make her visit a pleasant one. We look forward to welcoming her back again in the near future.
Lovell Place was recommended to me, and I can now see why. I would not hesitate to recommend it to other families in similar situations.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. We're so pleased to hear that your mother has been welcomed with care and compassion at Lovell Place. Supporting both residents and their families during times of transition is incredibly important to us, and your kind words mean a great deal to the whole team. Thank you again for your recommendation.
I went to the Harpist evening last night. I was great! Lovell Place put un a fantastic event for the Residents and us relatives. There was wine, cheese and biscuits plus mince pies during the break. The harpist was super. She played a mixture of carols, and present and even some classical. My wife has Alzheimer's and loves singing so she was very happy! So was I!
The staff as always we helpful and welcoming and looked after the residents' needs amazingly well.
Thank you very much for your kind and valuable feedback. We are truly delighted to know that you and your wife enjoyed the event.
It is wonderful to hear that the residents appreciated the music and singing. Creating joyful and engaging experiences is very important to us, and we will be sure to...
Excellent, friendly + very professional staff at all levels. Well managed. A lovely, caring place to stay for respite. Will certainly recommend it to anyone.
Thank you very much for your feedback. Im delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, and I will certainly share your valuable comments with our team.
The staff are caring, compassionate and professional. The home is a safe and happy environment.
We are delighted to read your review and will share your feedback with all of our team.
We are hoping to return again later in the years to recharge my batteries. We cannot thank the staff enough fir the care and attention we received.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're delighted you both felt comfortable and cared for during your stay. It was a pleasure having you, and we look forward to welcoming you back when you're ready for another well-deserved recharge.
My Dad came for respite care at Lovell Place when unfortunately he was much worse health wise than anyone realised. Lovell place responded on a Saturday evening to a request for this respite care and this had to be agreed very quickly, within a few hours, as he was coming from near Nottingham to Bristol on the Sunday. Lovell pulled out the stops and welcomed my Dad in. Another home failed to give a decision. Getting Dad to Bristol quickly was essential and Lovell place responded quickly.. Thank you. Dad was not well at all but still he was made as comfortable as possible, for example they were able to get him a more comfortable sofa chair quickly. Dad was only with Lovell place for a few days however they cared for him and made him feel as welcome as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. It was a privilege to be able to support your father and you as a family. We pride ourselves on delivering the very best care and support so thank you for acknowledging this.
The care was excellent, all the staff went above and beyond, they were so kind to us when visiting. The faciltities were excellent, food as good as any five star hotel. I would recommend this nursing home to everyone.
Thank you for your wonderful 5 star review which will be shared with all the team at Lovell Place. It was a pleasure looking after your loved one and even though she was only with us for a short period of time she did become a big part of our family and is greatly missed by all the team. It was...
First impression of the care home was modern, clean and welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you Lovell Place for making Mum and Dad feel at home during their three week respite stay which gave Mum the rest that she truly deserves.
Thank you for taking the time to complete such a wonderful review for our home. It was our pleasure to have had mum and day stay with us and I know initially Dad was not too sure if he wanted to come but to see him smiling within the first couple of days and embracing his stay to the full was...
My Dad is an avid gardener so leaving his garden for 3 weeks was hard but he was able to potter around the gardens actively taking part and encouraged by all of the staff/homemakers this meant that my Mum could sit and read (which is what she likes to do) without worrying about my Dad as she knew that he was safe.
Both my parents loved being there and described it like a 5 star hotel.
When they went back home after the 3 weeks my Mum described herself as being refreshed and had already decided that she was going back there soon for another 'holiday'.
It was a pleasure to have had mum and dad stay with us and to see how they both enjoyed their stay. Dad helped us greatly with advice and help in the gardens with attending to the pots, raised flower and herb beds. Mum enjoyed reading her Kindle in the Bistro and it was wonderful to see them both...
Mums last few days after her stroke were as comfortable as they could be. The whole family would like to thank all the wonderful staff.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review on our home. It was a pleasure to have mum and dad stay with us and they are greatly missed by all the team and residents. Your review will be shared with all the team at Lovell Place.
Much needed respite care provided for dementia. Lots of activities and facilities, rooms very nice, like hotel rooms. Any concerns raised were answered professionally. Would use again.
What a lovely review to receive. It was wonderful having your mother stay with us, and to see her embrace the activities and outings which were taking place during her stay was truly great to see. I know that the visit to the Alpaca Farm was one that she really loved. We would be delighted to...
Very happy with dads care here. He is confused at times and the carers are very kind and gentle with him. He has been out in the garden and use the restaurant sometimes. They check on his welfare regularly, which is very good.
What a wonderful review to read. Dad has settled very well since arriving with us and it is lovely to see him enjoying the facilities in the home and making new friends. Dad has a great sense of humour which everyone loves and always has a smile on his face. It was lovely to see dad recently...
From the moment we stepped into Lovell Place we knew it was the home for mum. Everyone we spoke to was so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately mum was only with you for 10 days, but the care she received was outstanding the compassion, empathy and kindness was exemplary. The support given to us as a family was excellent. Thank you Lovell Place for looking after us all at such a difficult time.
Thank you for your review which we know was written at a difficult time for the family. We are so pleased to read your wonderful review and the exemplary care provided to mum is a testament to our wonderful staff here at Lovell Place. It was a pleasure to have met you all and thank you once again for submitting your review. Wishing you and the family all the best for the future.
