Wow! It took a long time to look at care/nursing homes, and then I found Shoemaker! What a find! My mum was recovering from a double hip replacement and had spent two months in hospital before I knew she needed 24-hour care that I couldn't give! From her arrival, she was made to feel so welcome and has continued to settle in and adores all the staff who have been looking after her! I can't thank them all enough - she has settled far better than I thought she would, and for the first time in many months, has started to eat properly! She is happier and healthier than I've seen her for a long time, and I just want to say thank you to everyone at Shoemaker Place for making my Mum happy and of course, me!
Thank you for your lovely words, it is a pleasure to look after your loved one and we are so pleased that she has settled in well. Thanks again for your review, these are so helpful when starting out as a new service! Kind regards
The staff and management couldn't do enough for my husband. He was treated with dignity and kindness. In fact, my husband says he wants to go back there again. Praise indeed.
Hi there; we are so thrilled that your loved one enjoyed his time with us and we are really looking forward to welcoming him back. Thank you so much for your kind review; this really helps us as a new care provider. Kind regards from all at Shoemaker Place.
Team park at its best! From the manager and deputy manager to senior carers, chefs and activities coordinator, they all pull together and go the extra mile to ensure caring with compassion and professionalism is foremost. My parents celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary in Shoemaker, and it was absolutely wonderful (with) my father, at the grand young age of 94, even gave a speech of thanks... there wasn't a dry eye in the lounge! Just superb - thank you all at Shoemaker.
Once again, I will pass on your kind words to the team!
Moving to Shoemaker has been the best move for my dad. From the day he moved in, he was made so welcome, which helped him to settle in - a lot sooner than expected. All the staff at every level are professional, caring, supportive, and so easy to talk to and will always make time for a chat when I visit. I now know that my dad is being well cared for in a setting that is like no other care home I have ever visited.
We are delighted that your dad is very happy and settled here with us, as we...
Mum has settled quickly at Shoemaker Place. The care staff are amazing and have made Mum feel very loved and part of their family. The home is outstanding, and the facilities are second to none. It is state of the art, clean, luxurious and homely. Mum is enjoying the food and the company. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and Mum looks relaxed and happy whenever I see her. Mum has dementia but feels reassured, safe and happy there. It’s wonderful to see her look so well and settled in so quickly. Thanks to the manager and the great team for being so welcoming, thoughtful and caring during what is a very stressful time for our family.
We are very proud of the team and all that they are striving for in delivering a person-centred care approach to our residents.
Deciding that I required respite care for my mum was a very big decision, so finding a home she liked was imperative. Recently opened, Shoemaker Place was just the best that we could have hoped for. From the moment we first looked around, Mum absolutely loved it. We were both bowled over by the beautiful interior and facilities. The manager who showed us around made Mum feel so relaxed, and from therein, she was excited to be going to stay for a few nights. I was still worried about how she would be once there without me, but I needn't have been as when I collected her, she was beaming from ear to ear. In her words - she had had a fantastic time. Once home, she chatted non-stop about all of the staff and how wonderful and attentive they are and all of the fun activities she had done. She has been back another couple of times and really looks forward to going. Such a huge relief for me to know how happy mum is when she is there and that her care is in excellent hands.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so grateful as these reviews really help us to thrive as a new care provider. We are thrilled your loved one enjoys her time here, and we can't wait to welcome her back! Kindest regards from the team
My dad has been in Shoemaker Place for nearly a week now, and I cannot speak highly enough of the management, staff and facilities. From the initial phone call and subsequent tour of the excellent facilities, myself and my mum and dad have been hugely impressed with the level of service and care received. My dad was very tentative at the thought of going into a care home, but the excellent staff at Shoemaker Place have turned those doubts into a very positive experience for him, treating him with dignity and respect. Many thanks to everyone!
Thank you for your review. These are so helpful in helping us to thrive as a new business. We are delighted your loved one has had a good stay and hope that if you needed support again, you would come back! Kind regards.
My welcome into Shoemaker Place was very kind and warm. The staff are all excellent and do everything they can to help me. I am in a very comfortable room, and I enjoy my meals. Every effort is made to welcome my partner when she comes to visit me. There is excellent liaison with my GP surgery to manage my health needs. A very high standard in all areas. Cannot praise everyone enough. Excellent!
Hello to both of you, many thanks for this wonderful review. We are so pleased that Shoemaker Place is living up to your expectations. We strive to ensure we deliver individual and personalised care, and we are so pleased that we are meeting all your needs.
My first impression of Shoemaker Place was a purpose-built, very well-designed and beautiful decorated building. The staff are very professional and friendly, catering for all residents on an individual basis. The food is exceptional. as I have visited at mealtimes and also the Jubilee party. Bedrooms have everything - TV, easy chair and lovely views. Frequent entertainment is arranged in the form of quizzes etc. Really lovely place!
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so grateful as these reviews are paramount in promoting our service. We are very happy that you are delighted with the care your loved one receives. Kind regards.
Dad has only been a resident for a month, but I can already see a change in him. He's calmer, chats easily with team members, enjoys his meals and joins in with group activities nearly every day. It's great to see him more engaged with life - and a big weight off my mind.
The home itself is light and airy, well planned and nicely furnished - but it's the caring, capable and approachable team members that make all the difference.
Dear Chris, many thanks for your very kind words, which we will pass on to the team. We are so grateful, as these reviews really do help us to thrive as a new care providers. We are delighted that your loved one has settled into Shoemaker Place, and we are pleased you feel he has settled here. Kind regards.
