Been very impressed since our initial visit to the home. Not only is it appealing to the eye, the staff and managers are always available if there are any concerns, which are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Thank you for your kind review about Chartwell Manor.
Your Dad has been a delight to spend time with. The team enjoy learning about his past work and hobbies, especially when he explains his drawings and artwork. He keeps promising to try and teach me how to draw and is very patient.

It has been lovely to get to know you all as a family and you are always welcome at Chartwell Manor.

Chartwell Manor has done a phenomenal job of taking care of not only my only my grandmother, but the wider family members. From the moment we stepped into Chartwell Manor, the warm friendly staff have guided and supported us through the journey from hospital stay to admission and beyond.
My grandmother is well cared for, engaged and has improved in both health and well being since moving in. The residence is warm, well maintained and purpose built for the needs of the people it serves. The meals are excellent, offer a varied choice and staff are on hand to take care of dietary needs as they change. The rooms are well appointed and kept spotlessly clean.

The residents are kept stimulated by a wide variety of activities, games, meals all season and holiday appropriate. Visiting is as much for my mother as it is for my 7 year old. I enjoy my visits very much and can see the benefits to my grandmother. Thank you Chartwell Manor!

My mother had a rather serious accident and after 3 weeks in hospital was discharged to Chartwell Manor. On the day of arrival, delays in the discharge process meant we didn't arrive at Chartwell until late afternoon; the staff had all waited to meet mum even though their day had officially finished. This caring approach has been evident in everything we have experienced with the staff and management at Chartwell Manor, it's been so comforting for both mum and us. Every member of the team have been so supportive, particularly at time when mum has been confused and tearful as a result of her dementia symptoms.

All the family visits are met with a smile from the reception staff and Hazel, Gemma and Tracy could not have managed mum's transition more effectively. We are so grateful for all their efforts and the time spent helping mom recover from her accident. Mum is in a kind, supportive and comfortable environment at Chartwell and we can't thank them all enough.

My step-dad moved into Chartwell Manor in May 2025. We chose it due to the excellent facilities, social engagement team and the staff. We weren't disappointed. From the outset they made dad very comfortable and welcome. His room was decorated with his pictures and the staff did everything possible to make him feel 'at home'. It was a big adjustment for him and unfortunately, he didn't always make the best of all the opportunities but even in this, the staff were encouraging and understanding. The nursing team was great too, always willing to answer questions and ring me with up to date info.

Even when dad began to get frail and confused, the staff were always on hand to help and kept us fully informed. My only negative is that the local doctors surgery were very slow to communicate and slow to offer solutions to his problems. They could do with improving their lines of communication with the carehome in my opinion.

It was a big decision for your stepdad to move into the home, but it was lovely to see him build new friendships while maintaining his links from home. His love of photography was evident with his amazing pictures in his bedroom, which all told a story about his life and past which we enjoyed sharing.

From the initial enquiry by telephone, and then a visit to Chartwell Manor, we were confident that this is a first-class care facility.
After two months, we have found Chartwell Manor to be a well-managed care home with a team of caring, friendly yet professional staff at every level.
It is a welcoming, bright, modern building, well-furnished, warm, and spotlessly clean. The layout allows residents their privacy, while providing communal areas, including the dining room, lounge and bistro, for residents to socialise. Meals provide delicious, nutritious choices to suit all tastes.
An extensive, varying range of activities are on offer for the residents throughout the week. As well as this there are visiting professionals, they include a physiotherapist, a chiropodist and a hairdresser.
There are no unreasonable restrictions on visiting which contributes to the welcoming family-feel of this care home.

My mother is very happy here and we are delighted that she is so well cared for.

My Mum has been resident in Chartwell Manor for just under two years now. She has Alzheimer's and initially came into home after a series of falls at home and then a two week stay at hospital. When she was at her own home, even though carers would visit, she was progressively getting more depressed and lonely as the disease progressed. Since joining Chartwell, mum's whole demeanour has changed - she now is a happy soul who enjoys being part of the community. The care, compassion and committed nature of all the staff - from the management, the carers, the housekeeping staff - really is second to none. I feel completely at ease with Mum's care and know that she is in the best place she could be. If there are ever any issues I am always kept informed.

My sister who suffers with Alzheimer's went into Chartwell for 3 weeks respite and wanted to stay . The difference in her is remarkable , she is so happy, she joins in all the activities, which are well planned and stimulate her. She has people to talk to which has improved her communication. All staff are so caring and cheerful. The place is spotless and there is always a welcoming smile when you go in for a visit. I am so glad we found Chartwell and thank them for putting a smile back on my sister's face and giving us as a family peace of mind

Hi I just wanted to write to comment with regards to my mum's care at chartwell manor in Aylesbury . My mum lived in Swindon I live in Buckinghamshire she had a fall earlier in the year so upon leaving hospital in Swindon we were reluctant for mum to go back into her apartment as she was very weak after a long stay in hospital so my daughter and I made an appointment to look around chartwell manor with the hope to pop mum in there for respite . Literally from the telephone appointment to arrange a viewing up to present date ( September ) everyone from management / carers /maintenance / nurses / cleaners /entertainment team and reception ! We were made to feel special and as if mum

Would be treated well there . Mum left hospital and was quite poorly but the staff all looked after mum so well that her respite turned to permanently living there , a huge move for mum but I've never known mum so content and happy Thankyou to everyone you have given my mum her life back

After asking our Auntie how would she feel moving nearer to us, she was in a place in Eastbourne, it was a yes almost immediately. So had a list of places that would be her forever home to visit, went to Chartwell Manor, and whilst waiting to go in, a lady in front of me said she had looked at probably 8 places, and this one shone above the rest. Met the manager who spent a lot of time showing me around, and room options, immediately knew this place was the one, took Husband, whos reaction was "of course this is where she should be". Our auntie only arrived on 5th July but i was able to go into her lovely room to place a few bits, previously, until we could bring all of her personal stuff. The manager was so helpful with what documents we needed from her care home. and being able to move her in on a Saturday was a godsend. Cant praise the team enough, it really feels like an extended family.

Thank you

My mum decided at very short notice to give up her home... We looked at several care homes and Chartwell Manor was by far the best. Warm and welcoming, caring and full of fun. The manager and her staff create a real home for the residents.

Mum is much healthier, she has put on weight and is often too busy to see me!

My aunt was made to feel extremely welcome as soon as she arrived at Chartwell Manor. She quickly settled and took an active role in the wide range of activities that were on offer. Her room was very clean and well positioned and the facilities were excellent. She was always treated with the utmost care and respect and she felt valued by the whole team at the home. In the last few days of her life her care was exceptional and she really couldn't have had better support and love from the staff.

My aunt was resident at Chartwell Manor for 17 months and from the day she moved in was made to feel part of their strong community. She was able to personalise her room so really felt like it was her home.
The many activities provided for the residents take account of individual interests and abilities, and staff are always happy to arrange visits and events.

During her time at Chartwell Manor the staff provided my aunt with respectful and compassionate care. This was particularly evident when her physical health deteriorated, and I cannot thank them enough for making her final days so comfortable and peaceful. It was clear from their actions that they really do care about the residents and their families.

I received a call from a senior carer to update me on how my mother was following a bad night. I told the carer I would visit the following morning but having put the phone down decided I wanted to see mum myself. I arrived at the home and was as always greeted in a very welcoming way. I made my way to mum's room to find the senior carer who had called, with her back to the door and hence unaware of my presence. She was showing mum such gentle care and making sure her sheets were tucked in to keep her feet warm. Knowing this is how she is treated when no one is around was a wonderful thing to observe. I listened to staff interacting with the residents over supper and yet again was so impressed to hear their compassion and care. A visit that made me realise Chartwell Manor is a very special place.

My father has been a resident at this home for 12 months and I do not use the word home loosely as this is now his home. From day one it has been the perfect place for him and meets his extensive needs 100%. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is kind, dedicated, caring and above all compassionate about their residents. Nothing is too much trouble and every need is met. If there have been questions or concerns they have been listened to and acted on. The facilities are more like a hotel than a care home but from the moment you enter you have the reassurance that your loved one is treated like family and this is not a hotel but more like a family home. Family and friends can visit as much as they like without restriction and coffee and homemade cake is always on tap! Obviously if Dad had a choice he would still be living at home, but reality is sometimes cruel so we have been blessed to have found Chartwell Manor where he will reside happily for the foreseeable.

I feel compelled to write a review to express my husband's delight during yet another fine activity at Chartwell Manor, a music event held every two weeks, performed by a wonderful guitarist.
They include all participating residents with an eclectic repertoire, he is especially sensitive to my husband who used to be able to play guitar. It's truly a wonderful participating session.
My husband has had a long term illness, it is both gratifying and comforting to know that he is being cared for by carers who always have his best interests at heart. I visit each day and see that he is respected and cared for in a dignified way.

Obviously there are times when I have criticised someone or something but the manager without hesitation always addresses any problems with fairness and sensitivity.

Thank you for your comments and support, the music event is such a hit in the home stimulating all who live here, and we continue to offer as our community event monthly.
