My mum thoroughly enjoyed her visit to Squires Mews for 2 weeks' respite. The home is beautifully decorated, and the garden areas are very relaxing.

Thank you to all the staff for making her feel welcome.

Heidi and her team at Squires Mews demonstrate a caring attitude, a strong work ethic and attention to detail in everything we have seen since mum moved in some nine months ago.

All families taking the big decision to place a loved one in their care should be reassured of kindness and patience - and that's accompanied by a sense of security - so important to us as we do not live locally.

We receive a weekly activity calendar that we circulate to trusted friends, so they can arrange their visits around the daily events mum enjoys.

It is the best decision this family has made, ensuring mum is in a comfortable and safe place, where she's made new friends and enjoys an active, and fun life.

Sincere thanks from us..

Fantastic, clear explanation of the care mum is receiving. Mum is clearly monitored each day and we were made aware of the activities she attends. Great facilities on site. Good selection of food, and great surroundings.

I cannot thank everybody at Squires Mews for the care my father is receiving. His circumstances have changed since the new year and all the staff have helped us adjust. I would also like to thank Avery for accommodating my father and his care package. If only the NHS could be so considerate. I would have no problem in recommending Avery and especially Squires Mews. They are a credit to your company.

I couldn't be more pleased, everyone and everything is better than I could have hoped for. My wife has altziemers and the staff have excelled in caring for her. My biggest worry ,always that she would be content and happy , the staff have gone out there way to make sure that all is well, they have got Sue involved in activities that I could not do in the last 3 years

A big thank you my me and my family

The first time we visited, we were struck by the friendliness of staff and residents. There was a lovely, happy atmosphere, and there was a buzz around the place.

The bedrooms and facilities are spotlessly clean. The range of activities provided for residents are varied and staff are keen to involve everyone.

My mother was a resident at Squires Mews for 18 months and over this time. She was well cared for by all staff and enjoyed herself. She made many friends with other residents and members of staff. We her family were always made to feel welcome whenever we were visiting, and never felt that we were an intrusion on the daily routine of the home.

After our family tours around Squires Mews my dad was warmly welcomed. Both he and us as a family have been supported by reassuring updates on how he has settled in. He is content which is a great reassurance. We enjoy our visits using the garden and coffee lounge. Dad has engaged in the offered activities.

Mum came into care in January 2024 and, after a long search, we found Squires Mews. For the first time since we lost my Dad, she's been happy. This place is wonderful! We brought our 98-year-old Aunt to Squires Mews 8 months ago and have been delighted with the move. The residents, staff, and facilities have exceeded our expectations and - as our Aunt says - "It's more like a 5-star hotel than a care home.".

So it's 5 stars from us!

My partner could not have wished for a more enjoyable and relaxing stay during her three weeks of respite care. The management and staff made us most welcome on our arrival, and couldn't have been more attentive throughout my partner's stay. I have not seen a home in a higher state of cleanliness. Should she need further care we will not hesitate to return to Squires Mews.

Entering Squires Mews establishes an immediate welcome alongside esteemed professional staff. The overall ambience is one of a soothing atmosphere creating excitement and interest. Rooms are clearly identified, each offering opulence throughout. Safety is utmost in the staff's care with their voices delivering a cheerful, comforting yet approachable tone, inviting trust. Staff are clearly aware of residents' needs and constantly achieve an extremely proficient level of care, informing and liaising with family thus offering assurance and two-way respect. Staff demonstrate personal interest and show compassion toward my mum-in-law. Throughout each day there's a comprehensive variety of activities on offer all differentiated thus catering for a wide range and delivered by enthusiastic, friendly and encouraging staff, making residents feel joyous in their motivation and achievements. Personal hygiene is fulfilled to the highest standard by the carers, whilst being constantly vigilant regarding possible health dangers. As many of the staff provide skilful attributes behind the scenes e.g. housekeeping deliver laundered clothes and maintain cleanliness throughout. Dietary needs are catered for by staff delivering support and reassurance to ensure Mum-in-law's health needs are met. Josie ThomasJob Title:Customer Service ManagerJoined: 2015

Josie has worked for Avery for 8 years, initially at Head office, then moved to Squires Mews in January 2023.

Josie loves working and meeting new residents and their families and getting to know them. Moving into a care home is a big step for the resident and the family so it’s nice to be the welcome face and the point of contact and being able to reassure both parties. Customer service is paramount and I believe doing the little things goes a long way. This could be the welcome gift, remembering details about the family and what is important to the resident means we listen and care. Josie loves her job as Customer Service Manager and hopes this shows in her daily work.

She recently started the Squires Mews Choir and is all for her residents having a good time.

Working in a caring environment no matter what role we Lead; we have the reward of getting to know our residents. Soon to be 59 residents, who they are, their families, their likes and their dislikes, their favourite tipple or tune to sing along to. This is what Char promotes to her team -"We can work, and we can have fun and spend time talking as we work".

Seeing residents smile is what makes Char's job worthwhile, it can be a life-changing experience from what they are used to and if we can make that step a little easier for both residents and their families to feel supported and welcomed, we can ensure that we can all add a little shine to each other lives.
