A truly outstanding home from home. My Gran is currently staying here (she has even become an internet sensation), and she has come on leaps and bounds. The home is beautiful and the staff are phenomenal, kind, and patient. There's always something going on be that a live singer, something arranged
in-house, or a trip out. The whole package is five stars.

Mum has been at Copperfields Court just 10 days and already her life has been enriched. She has 'visited' Italy with an Italian meal, she has fed Alpacas at a BBQ in the sunny garden and has been taken to the near by shopping centre. The manager is amazing and her wonderful team can not do more to make
Mum comfortable and happy and the family so welcome.
Mum's room is lovely with a door leading to the garden and the facilities include a cinema, hairdresser, nail bar and shop. I'd be very happy to live there, the food is amazing!
Reply from Eve Balcombe, Home Manager at Copperfield CourtThank you for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review. To hear your mum's life has been enriched in such a short space of time, is amazing and inline with Oyster's core values. We always strive to provide an excellent level of care personally and environmentally. I will share your review with the team.

My mum moved in yesterday, and today was my first visit. Very impressed from the minute we walked in the door. Warm welcome, very helpful. Given a guided tour and every question answered. Beautiful rooms and the whole place is new, fresh, clean and appealing. Very happy after my 1st visit.

I cannot fault the staff and care that has been given to my mother-in-law since her respite stay began. From what I have seen, the staff encourage the residents to join in with various activities or meals but they don't force them in any way. The residents can be as sociable as they want or could stay
in their rooms if they wish. When we have visited, there have been activities taking place - a cheese and wine (non-alcoholic) afternoon with painting, a singer, a film and a cream tea. The staff are so thoughtful and cannot do enough for you. My mother-in-law can't get over how lovely it all is - she has loved having her hair done and has used the accessible bath which she's not been able to do for some time. Her room is really spacious and she has been able to personalise it so that it feels more like her own. She has yet to go outside into the gardens but it looks lovely and there's a bench directly outside her French windows which I'm sure she'll use at some point.

We have been wowed by Copperfield since the first contact with the manager. She was so helpful at what was becoming a stressful time. All the staff are so kind and caring from the chefs, laundry, maintenance man, front of house and of course the carers. The facility is a home from home and more like
a hotel than a care home making it a lovely atmosphere, not only for the residents but also their visitors. They also take the residents out, my Mother in law has been to the local shops and the seaside all in one week! Highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

Our Mum has only been in Copperfield Court for 12 days and moved there following a spell in hospital and a proactive Assessment Unit. She decided that at 91 it was time for her to be looked after and her reaction on entering the house was "I can't believe it, this is just like a hotel.". She is very
happy and the staff are so friendly and can't do enough for the residents. Being a brand new build the facilities are exceptional as you would expect. That said Mum has settled in very well and her care is a comfort to us all. The staff team makes us all very welcome and are exceptional with everything they do for residents and visitors.
Reply from Eve Balcombe, Registered Home Manager at Copperfield CourtThank you for taking the time to leave us a review. This is an amazing care home the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The care there is second to none my friend is being so well looked after. I would highly recommend this care home.
The home itself is very clean and feels more like a hotel. The food on offer is delicious and family and friends can
join the residents for lunch or a meal. The activities for residents are great and residents are made to feel welcome to all activities on offer.
Residents are able to go on visits or to the local shops if they wish to however the home has a shop where residents can purchase items at no cost to them such as snacks, toiletries, etc.
A hairdresser is available for those residents wishing to have their hair done, there is even a hairdressing room.
It's an amazing place where everyone is treated with care and dignity.

The home is like walking into a hotel. All the staff are warm and welcoming. The residents are treated like normal human beings and are very well-stimulated. I have already noticed a big difference in my friend as she is experiencing a lovely quality of life here. They even welcome the guests with a
freshly baked cake. Over the last few months, I viewed lots of potential homes and this is the only one I would highly recommend to loved ones looking for full-time care.

Overall good but down to his disability my husband had difficulty using chairs and toilets because they were too low. I would suggest you have a stock of chair raisers and raised toilet seats for taller residents who find the current ones difficult.
Reply from Becky Crichton, Copperfield Court at Copperfield CourtThank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that your overall experience was positive. We apologise for the difficulty your husband faced with the chairs and toilets. We are looking into having a stock of chair raisers and raised toilet seats to better accommodate taller residents and those with similar needs. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will use it to improve our services. Thank you for choosing our care home for your husband's respite care.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.931)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.931) out of 10 for Copperfield Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 51 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 51 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.931 for Copperfield Court is calculated as follows: ( (569 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 608 Ratings = 4.931
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Copperfield Court is based on 51 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 51 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
