Opened in 2025, Hilton Lodge is a purpose-built care home in Haddington, East Lothian, providing residential and dementia care for up to 60 residents, with views towards the Lammermuir Hills.
The team gets to know each individual before admission. Families are involved from the start, and pre-admission visits help staff understand each resident’s life story, interests, and routines, ensuring the transition is as smooth and familiar as possible.
The home was designed for comfort and independence. Alongside private bedrooms, residents have a café, a private dining room, spa bathrooms, a sensory room, secure gardens and day room balconies. The award-winning Airwaves system lets residents check menus, activity schedules and entertainment through their own television.
Residents can choose from a full programme of activities, including exercise classes, bridge club, a dementia choir, quiz nights, pamper sessions and themed celebrations, as well as Therapets and alpaca visits. Outings to the surrounding towns and villages are planned around residents’ interests.
Hilton Lodge is closely involved in Haddington life. Local groups, NHS teams and dementia organisations meet in the café, which also hosts a monthly drop-in open to everyone. Children from local schools visit regularly, and residents take part in Haddington in Bloom and fundraising for the East Lothian Larder foodbank.
Families interested in Hilton Lodge may arrange a personal tour to view the home and meet the team.

I have never been so impressed with a care home, it's more like a hotel the facilities are fantastic. The difference in my granny from having the constant interaction and different faces has been amazing today she had a hand massage done and actually engaged in a conversation which is massive from last week. Today I felt she needed her hair washed and lo and behold all the staff went to lengths to ensure she had a wee spot with their hairdressers to have a wee pamper done. Cannot recommend this place enough we were all extremely anxious about her going in for a wee holiday but we had nothing to be anxious over. Friendly staff and again amazing at what they are doing thank you so so much
Thank you so much for your lovely review! Your granny was an absolute delight, and it was a pleasure getting to know you and your family as well. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

Mum was very settled in Hilton Lodge and appeared to have enjoyed her stay (Mum has Dementia so is not able to fully express her own opinion!). This was a first respite stay and we were anxious about how Mum would be but all seemed to go very well. We had no problem establishing old routines on her return home and all in all the experience was positive.

Maria began her career as a nurse at 17, initially working in mental health and learning disabilities before transitioning into care management. Over the years, she has held various leadership roles, including operations manager and care home manager, always striving to enhance the quality of care and support for residents.
Maria is proud of her ability to increase grades in previous care homes she has worked in. She is passionate about having good, person-centered environment where residents feel valued, safe, and supported. She takes great pride in building strong relationships with families and ensuring their loved ones receive the best possible care.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys retreating to her caravan in the Scottish Borders for some well-earned relaxation. She also cherishes time spent with her granddaughter, Gracie. Her advice for families choosing a care home is simple: Visit the home, check CI reports, voice any concerns, and most importantly—trust your instincts.
