The Belvedere is situated in Alderley Edge, Cheshire and specialises in nursing dementia care for up to 41 residents.

The Home three storey purpose built home opened in June 2009 with the comfort of each resident in mind. Belvedere has a lounge on each floor, including a dining room with kitchen facilities, comfortable seating and opulent decor. There are also two snoozlem areas and a secure garden.

The Belvedere works closely with its neighbour, Cavendish Court who have the same owners, which allows both homes to maintain a flexible service in relation to individual needs and contact with numerous health experts.

All residents receive their own care packages in order to ensure they receive the health, attention and dietary requirements that health professionals indicate will improve their well-being.

I had to make a huge decision whether to move my relative to somewhere else in Surrey or closer to me in Cheshire. The staff at The Belvedere could not have been more helpful. They were very knowledgeable and once I made the decision and brought my 88-year-old relative up here they could not have
been more caring. He was well looked after and he kept his dignity to the end. I was very impressed with the care he received and would recommend the nursing home.

My Uncle has been in Belvedere for nearly a year. No matter what time of the day I visit him the carers are so welcoming. Great smiles. Always very positive and caring. Lovely atmosphere for my Uncle to be in. I have no qualms in recommending anyone to this home from home. Very safe, secure, caring,
clean, and above all, they really care and look after their residents.

I visit a friend in the home twice a week and have always been made very welcome by all the carers etc.
If I want to know anything about my friend the carers have always been extremely helpful, thoughtful, kind and generous to me. They are always very pleasant and wonderful with the patients.

Mum is so well looked after in The Belvedere and I am given complete reassurance by the staff who look after her. They are a truly caring, professional group of people. They always give me time to let me know how mum is an when she needs anything. Mum had to be taken to A&E recently and one of the care
team accompanied her for over 10 hours. When mum eats, she is offered a taste of foods to help her choose which meal she wants.

It has been almost five years since my Mum became a resident at The Belvedere. During that time Alzheimer’s has taken its toll and my Mum probably won’t see the sixth year. However, on the few occasions when I got ‘the call’ and I was informed that things were not looking too good for my Mum, the staff
at The Belvedere pulled out all the stops, bent over backwards and got my Mum back on the straight and narrow. I am very grateful to the staff at The Belvedere for the past five years for giving me relative peace of mind and being able to sleep at night in the knowledge that my Mum is in good hands.

Excellent on all accounts. The staff are absolutely superb sometimes under very difficult circumstances.


The atmosphere in the house in calm considering it is a house for dementia sufferers.


The management and administration are also excellent, the manager seems to have a knack for selecting

the right kind of staff and we know this hasn't always been the case.

The care provided by The Belvedere since dad moved in has been excellent/ When he wasn't well staff acted promptly and during his hospital admission carers stayed with him. Staff are knowledgeable about dementia and strategies to cope with challenging behaviour.
The rooms are a good size, clean and
well decorated when we provided pictures for the walls they were put up quickly.
My father appears to enjoy the meals provided.

My father has been a resident at Belvedere for over 2 years and has been through a lot, both with his illness and his care. He seems very well cared for at this stage of his life and it is testament to the efforts of the staff and management that they have been able to deliver this in the face of lower

I've been in nursing 42 years and it's not easy. I'm pleased with all care and standards. The food is sufficient and nutritional. Occasionally could do with extra carers but on the whole quite good. They have a difficult job but are kind to residents and visitors with a cheerful disposition. It's a
bonus when I go and visit my Husband. He's clean and the room also very nice. the Belvedere is to be recommended.

During that time she is being settled in. Cleanliness issues have been addressed along with clothing issues.

My mother is a very new resident and the staff have made the transition here very easy.

The Manager and Deputy show good leadership and dedication. However, there are frequently inadequate staffing levels to maintain safety e.g. at mealtimes when patients have to be fed in their rooms. In-house activities have improved but outings in the bus appear to have ceased.

My husband has been in The Belvedere since the 2nd December. He found it difficult to settle but staff were very patient and understanding and obviously were well trained. Later he was given 1/1 situation and this I feel made him aggressive but this was needed and helped along again patiently by staff.
He ate and slept very well but very often first to wake and do his usual marching up and down. Regardless of his nuisance factor and regular dosage of settling down down pills he is beginning to settle with many thanks to the staff.

Top floor staff are excellent, caring and always willing to listen to any concerns that we might have. Management has always been available to discuss any issues that we might have. After a poor period, when many key people left because of the bad management, things are starting to improve. The current manageress and her deputy are making a good effort: I have faith in them.
The minibus has been standing idle for over a year and consequently outings to various local places have
not taken place. I am assured that steps are being taken to rectify this sad state of affairs.
The cook produces good food. There is a choice of dishes keeping all the residents happy is an impossible task: there is no magic solution There will soon be two activities organisers. There seems to be a shortage of staff and Agency workers are expensive.
