During the month, the staff continued their great efforts in making the residents' lives pleasant and comfortable. A lovely Christmas lights switch on with carol singing early in the month, a Christmas party with a guest singer and a trip to a local garden centre made Christmas wonderful.
On Christmas Day, I enjoyed lunch with my mum which was of the highest standard.

All in all, The Belvedere is a lovely place for my mum, where they understand her dementia extremely well.

The consistent care of the staff is fantastic, their unwavering attention to the residents and good humour are an absolute credit to the staff. We have a new manager now and her commitment to the home is exemplary.

Overall Experience

The new manager is putting in place many improvements that can be seen and ensuring that residents are at the centre of all changes. The home is a much happier and more positive place, after the inaccessibility during Covid. Staff seem to be increasing and show care for the residents. In the past, I felt the home was understaffed and the place looked unloved. My sister has always seemed happy and cared for although under last management, many personal things were lost (eg. teeth, glasses and pants) and enquiries by the family were not dealt with.

Thank you for taking the time to review. We are continuing to improve the service and very glad to hear that you have seen the improvements. Our management team has an open door policy for families so if there is anything you would like to raise, please feel free to see email or ring the manager or deputy manager and we will be happy to help.

I cannot praise this home enough. The standard of care is excellent, my mother is a resident there and has been for two years. The standard of communication is excellent. Even through Covid times when we couldn't visit, we had video calls and plenty of updates. The management and staff there feel like family and nothing is too much trouble. I would not have my mother go anywhere else, she loves it there and has come on in leaps and bounds since being placed there.

My father was admitted to The Belvedere during Covid in June 2020. He suffered from Parkinson's and dementia and the staff were amazing. Within days, we knew he was going to be in good hands and we were not disappointed. Despite all the additional problems they had to cope with, we were always kept informed and updated. Sadly, he passed away recently and on behalf of all the family, I would like to thank the entire team for taking care of him, I would not hesitate to recommend The Belvedere as the perfect home for loved ones who suffer from dementia.

Overall Experience

After a succession of short-lived managers, The Belvedere has been held up only by its host of dedicated carers and nurses, an absolute credit to the home who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic. The most recent CQC report awards a ‘good’ for the care and an ‘RI’ for the leadership. I think this has been an accurate reflection and would agree with this rating. If the trajectory of recent improvements continues then I would anticipate Good/outstanding across the board. In addition to the superb care team, the home now has a wonderful new manager, supported by a fabulous deputy and friendly admin support. The home finally feels like someone at the helm cares. Communication has improved exponentially, and there is now a buzz of positivity. From a relative’s (and I’m sure my mum would agree) point of view, the new manager’s obvious passion for the best in dementia care is an absolute joy and relief.

My mother entered The Belvedere in July of this year after being in a nursing house for five years with full dementia; the nursing home closed down. She was welcomed in, and it was straightforward. She is well looked after. Any concerns, I am informed of. As far as activities are concerned, I am told this all happened, but I've seen no sign of any when I have visited, and these poor people need all the motivation they can get.

Wonderful visit today to see my auntie for the first time in months. Excellent support and testing to make the visit safe. The staff are amazing. My auntie has been so well looked after both physically and emotionally. Looked so comfy and relaxed and made my Christmas complete. All the staff do an amazing job. Thank you so much.

My wife has been in The Belvedere three months and my overall impression is that she is well cared for by professional and caring staff. I feel she is safe. The nurses are excellent, always having time to tell me about my wife's condition, mood and general health. The carers too always know about my wife.

My mother was a resident in The Belvedere for six years until her death in September this year. Neither my sister or I lived locally so our visits were quite spread out.

We were pleased to leave mum's care in the hands of the staff, confident she was in good hands. Unfortunately, we couldn't be there when mum died but they didn't leave her and she didn't die alone.

The staff have been friendly and helpful since my father has moved here. They have a good understanding of his needs and hoe to meet them. I have found the staff to be very informative and they have very good attention to detail. It gives me peace of mind to have my father here as I know he is well cared for.
