Merryfields

My mother has been at Merrryfields for about 4 months now. We got her out of the last home as we felt the care was lacking. This home is amazing! The staff are excellent and really engage with the residents. We can always see on social media all the activities that the residents participate in. They all look so happy. This may be a smaller care home but the care is amazing and my mum is happy to be a resident.

I only have praise for Merryfields, on more than one occasion the staff went above and beyond but not just for my aunt but for us (the family). It helped to know she was being looked after by such caring people.

Every member of staff from the owner, manager, carers, domestic and kitchen team are fantastic! I would highly recommend this team!

I am incredibly impressed with all aspects of the care and attention that Merryfields provide. There is a wide range of activities designed to keep residents engaged and active, as well as being good fun and interesting. The staff are always supportive and are happy to go the extra mile when needed. The team is very well led and the atmosphere within the home is very warm and caring.

My mother has been a resident for nearly 12 months now and we thought it would be a difficult transition, however, it was the complete opposite. Every experience we have had has been excellent, we visited many homes before choosing Merryfields and it has turned out to be an excellent choice.

Clothing and personal possessions remain an issue.

I can't praise the staff enough.

Merryfields is a lovely home and my Grandad was very happy here after trying a number of other care homes locally. They accommodated to his individual needs and it always felt like it was home. The staff were all amazing and caring and would go out of their way to help both my Grandad and us. They were particularly helpful when Grandad was in and out of hospital for various reasons. Merryfields ensured Grandad come return to the home as soon as possible and be cared for in an environment he was familiar with. Merryfields were incredibly supportive during lockdown and in the final weeks of my Grandads life. I would like to Thank Merryfields for everything they did in the final year of my Grandad's life.

We've been incredibly impressed by the warmth, thoughtfulness and care given to my elderly mother. My parent has dementia and, beyond the care given, the creativity shown by the team towards providing engaging activities has been remarkable.

Merryfields is a warm, welcoming home with caring staff dedicated to the happiness and wellbeing of their residents. The wealth of activities they arrange is amazing, something for everyone. I would highly recommend Merryfields.

It’s has been a tough 12 months with covid - it has been very hard not being able to see Mum however Merryfields have been fantastic with their daily Facebook posts, videos and arranging FaceTime or WhatsApp calls. Merryfields also adapted very quickly to the government guidelines for visits by enabling outdoor ones in the summer and then fitting a special screen to enable visits in the winter. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for the very best care for their loved ones especially if they have dementia.

I know my granny is well looked after and that to me is priceless, I cannot thank the staff enough, from the cook to the maintenance man, carers and the manager.

I recently moved my father to Merryfields from another local residential home. The staff were very aware of his needs and quickly put a plan together to make sure that his needs were met. Within 24 hours they had contacted the doctor and arranged for my dad to have some appropriate medication, something that he should have been given months ago. I am very grateful to the staff for improving my dad's life and taking a real interest in him.

I have been a resident here for the last 3 months. I was made to feel welcome from the minute I walked in. I originally had an upstairs bedroom which I liked however I do not like to get too hot so asked if I could have a downstairs room so that I could have a patio door. Without question, I was moved into a downstairs room. The staff are always friendly and caring. I couldn't fault them. I am very happy here.

I am now able to visit her in the garden where a tented area has been set up for us to sit and chat safely for which I am grateful.

During Covid-19 everyone has gone the extra mile to ensure we kept in contact. I really cannot praise everyone enough.

I cannot thank the staff enough for all that they have done for my sister since she entered Merryfields! Everyone is kind, considerate and caring. I have been welcomed when visiting, despite all the pressures of lockdown. Thanks for all the support given to my sister and me.

I was recommended by a care home professional to place my mother at this amazing care home and are not disappointed. The food, hygiene and overall attention to detail are of a very high standard. They have also dealt with the Covid-19 virus very well indeed.

It was very comforting knowing my sister was so well cared for. And I cannot praise the home enough.
