My sister and her husband are both suffering from dementia. The standard of care they are receiving at Merryfields is excellent as is their accommodation. I am most impressed by the numbers and quality of staff who care for them and "care" is an appropriate word to describe how attentive and responsive they are to their every need. My sister and her husband are always immaculately turned out when I visit them and Merryfields is always sparkling clean. They tell me the food is excellent. I am very happy in our choice of Merryfields.

I cannot praise the owner and his team enough. My mother needed respite care urgently and after I visited the home in the morning the owner collected my mum in his minibus along with her wheelchair and riser chair that same afternoon. The team looked after her brilliantly for a week until she was eventually admitted to hospital.

We will never be able to thank the team enough for what they did at a very difficult and traumatic time for our family. I would not hesitate to recommend Merryfields. You can be sure that your relatives will be well looked after there.

Merryfields is a relatively small and family run care home which gives it a personal feel. I feel confident my mother is well cared for and receives medical attention when needed.

Staff are caring and treat residents with kindness and dignity from owners, management, carers, kitchen staff and cleaners. They are all friendly, patient and gentle.

An extremely warm and caring care home.
Our friend was only there for 16 months but it was a very happy time for her.
At 96 she was ready to be looked after. All the staff were always nice and helpful with her, nothing was ever too much trouble and that also included us when we visited, always a lovely cup of tea and a slice of cake.

Thank you so much.

After visiting several care homes within the area, it became very evident when visiting Merryfields this was the place for my mother. A very warm reception from the management and all staff. We were able to have a tour of the home straight away (all areas). The first thing was how exceptionally clean the place was. Residents' rooms are spotless with great attention to detail and the needs of the individual. This has continued to be so with my mother having planned activities, dietary requests and above all a happy and safe environment to be in. Merryfields does what it says on the tin and that little bit extra. Exceptional.

What an amazing place. Staff have time for residents, they genuinely seem to care! My mother was with Merryfields for 5 weeks before we moved away, due to a job change. I just so wish that we hadn't been moving so far as I have found it impossible to replicate the standard of care enjoyed by Mum whilst she was with the team at Merryfields. I know that Mum was comfortable during her stay. She is a particularly fussy eater and the team did try their best to find her something to eat at mealtimes. 'Ali's Cafe' is a great idea, where residents can order snacks anytime. Accommodation was clean and her room was a decent size. I would highly recommend this facility.

I am completely happy with the care my wife receives in this care home. It is always clean, warm and inviting. The staff are given the time to interact with residents and provide stimulation. My wife has been a resident for 5 years and at no time have I been less than completely satisfied with her care.

We would like to say how well Merryfields as a whole unit looked after mum. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
They were always friendly and had time for a chat.
Mum had a massive stroke on 03.05.17 and never regained consciousness.
They loved and cared for her until she died on 06.05.17.

I can't praise them enough.

We very much liked the homely atmosphere of Merryfields when we viewed it late 2015 ahead of my mother moving there in April 2016. Another key factor was the kindly and welcoming attitude of the staff. Over the last ten months, we have noticed most staff show great pride in their job. We have been impressed with their patient and loving attitude towards the residents. The staff have also been very friendly and helpful towards us.

My mother-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer and reluctantly left her flat to move into Merryfields. Here she was very well looked after in a clean and comfortable room of her own. The staff were all friendly, caring and patient and although mum would obviously rather have still been at her flat, the family all felt that the care she received at Merryfields was far better than anything else we could have arranged. This high standard of care continued until mum passed away in March.

My mother has Dementia and even though she lived close by and I saw her daily and she had carers she was still very lonely and confused. Since going into Merryfields she has improved, made friends and is well looked after by the friendly and caring staff in providing her quality of life greatly.

Dad was only at Merryfields a short time, from our first visit we were made welcome and the transition from hospital to the care home was dealt with sympathetically and efficiently. The staff were exemplary with the level of care given.

I felt at ease after every visit in the knowledge that dad was looked after and all his care needs were dealt with. The staff were friendly and professional. I could not have asked for more.

Our mother came to this care home in March 2013 and stayed there, contentedly until her death in June 2015. She has always hated the idea of going into a care home but when her dementia worsened, we took this course. We are so relieved and feel so lucky to have found Merryfields for her. Our mother's anxiety and unhappiness fell away, she enjoyed the staff's care and attention, she smiled, ate and slept well, liked outings. The staff always seemed loving, friendly, respectful with her and all the other residents. We, as guests, always felt welcomed. The atmosphere was warm, homely good home made cooking!, comfortable and comforting. I can't express my gratitude enough for the way our mother was looked after during those last years.
