Today was very enjoyable. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The BBQ was delicious, and the music was lovely. The drinks, alongside the games and quizzes, were very fun.

Our mum is always treated with respect and kindness. The carers (and all staff) actually do care. There are activities and events organised for the residents and also their loved ones. I'm very grateful for the time, effort and care that's given to our mum. Thank you.

After a wobbly start, Amy Woodgate House is now very good.

Activities are excellent, the food is good and the care is good, perhaps a few more professional people. Overall very good. Good management.

I am very happy with Amy Woodgate House, very efficient, happy staff at all levels. The building is always clean, tidy and warm. My mother is always very happy which is excellent. She is always clean and nicely dressed. Any medical problem or issue is resolved quickly and efficiently. My mother cannot join in with a lot of the entertainment (mentally) but always enjoys the music. I am very happy with the service.

Mum has been at Amy Woodgate since November 2022 and we are very happy with the home. When we looked at a few homes, it was here that we kept comparing to, as we instantly felt it was right for my mum. It was recommended by a friend whose mum is a resident. There was a gut feeling straight away, just like when you choose a house. We visit often and every staff member we meet is personable, kind and caring, even though we know she can be a challenge at times. We can't thank them enough for making mum so welcome and making the transition so smooth after us making a very difficult decision to place her in a care home nearer to us. After living in her house for 50 years we are astonished how well she has adapted to her new environment. This is a credit to her and the great staff here. She's eating well now and her mobility has really improved and she is always clean. They have a dedicated activities organiser so there's always something going on. Keep up the great work Amy Woodgate!

I’ve been volunteering at Amy Woodgate since 2018 and have had nothing but positive experiences. The staff are attentive, the residents are happy and as a volunteer, I felt fully supported in my role by the staff. Overall, the home is lovely and I would be more than happy to send any of my loved ones there.

Mum came to Amy Woodgate House in May from another care home. She has settled in really well. She has changed completely where they are interacting with her and recognises us so much more. They do lots of activities and the staff are always around to talk to. They keep us informed of everything that is happening with mum. At the other place no communication at all. Very happy and would thoroughly recommend them.

My Aunt was in the home for some 6 years. The caring and nursing during her stay and at the end of her life was nothing but exceptional. I would highly recommend the home. The management and team were always happy to help and available. I can only thank them for looking after my Aunt so well.

Our mother was a resident at Amy Woodgate House where she was wonderfully cared for over 9 years before her death in 2014; during this time our father visited her every day. When the time came and our father could no longer remain safely living in his own home, we were also able to secure him a place at Amy Woodgate. He was warmly welcomed in September 2020 and quickly settled. My sister and I were delighted that many of the staff who had cared for mum were still working at the home in 2020 and remembered dad.

Sadly our father passed away in November 2020. However, during his all too short time with them, he was treated with kindness, dignity, warmth and genuine affection. My sister and I will never forget the wonderful care provided by all the dedicated and professional staff at Amy Woodgate for both our parents, or the support we as family members received. We cannot thank them enough and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to other prospective residents.

My friend for over 50 years went into Amy Woodgate House in 2016 and was there for 5 years. I visited her as often as I could and on every occasion found the staff welcoming and caring. My friend's room was always clean and tidy; there was a whiteboard in the room with her background (including her acting career), her childhood and early life in India and other relevant details to help her remember. She would often say to me "I love my apartment but I have no idea who all these people are" (referring to other residents and staff). She often proposed putting in her own kitchen! My friend was always dressed with great care by the staff. She received tremendous personal care and attention and it was very obvious that she felt totally secure and at peace. On every visit I made, the staff, without exception, made me feel very welcome. I was always able to join her for a meal or afternoon tea. My sincere thanks to the manager and every staff member at Amy Woodgate House for their extraordinary care.

My sister and I want to express our thanks for the excellent care that Amy Woodgate provided for our mother for the last 9 years. During her entire stay, she was looked after by the compassionate staff who dealt with every stage of her gradual deterioration from dementia. Mum had a lovely sunny room with an en-suite bathroom. We could visit without notice at any time, and there were particular occasions when the staff made efforts to support her, for example providing shopping trips and days out which were arranged in the early years of her illness. Also a few months before she died, they arranged a fantastic 95th birthday party, offering the use of the day centre so that her extended family could attend. Another example was when the staff enabled her to be involved with the "model shop” in the home, which gave her so much enjoyment. We have nothing but praise for the manager and her dedicated team and are so grateful for their kindness provided, right to the end of our mother’s life.

I cannot recommend Amy Woodgate House highly enough. My mother-in-law was a resident for three years, suffering from advanced Alzheimer's in her early 90s. She benefited immensely from the sincere love and genuine commitment shown by staff, who are well supported and trained by extremely efficient and compassionate managers. Mum truly flourished and was genuinely happy, always treated as a respected individual. She felt secure due to the personal bonds with staff and nice personal touches, such as the provision of familiar items in her room and food that the kitchen knew she liked. She loved it when outside performers were brought in, and when cute animals were brought into the garden for summer parties. The standards of hygiene, accommodation and food were all excellent, and the provision of medical treatment was quick and efficient when required. As with any institution, though, it is ultimately the love of the staff that make all this work. Truly wonderful all round. Forever grateful.

Overall Experience
My Mother passed away at Amy Woodgate House in April 2020 she had been a resident at the home for just under two years prior to which she had attended the day centre.
Mum had a lovely sunny room with en suite and windows looking out to the garden. We were made very welcome when Mum first moved in and encouraged to customise her room with her own personal items. Her room was freshly painted and throughout her time at Amy Woodgate was kept spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the home and communal areas. Our family could visit without notice at most times of the day and during our visits could make ourselves feel at home, make tea/coffee, play music, all the things that make a visit homely for both us and Mum.

The management and staff went that extra mile to celebrate special occasions and put on activities. I have nothing but admiration for the dedicated staff who took the greatest of care with Mum right up to the end.

The care and attention shown to Mum has been exceptional. Throughout the years Mum was resident at Amy Woodgate I could not fault the management or staff. They showed care and support to Mum and to me and my family. They have always listened to my views and carefully considered Mums needs, responding quickly and professionally. The facilities are spotlessly clean, the rooms are bright and airy, with lots of excellent activities for the residents. Everyone is respected and made to feel it is their home.

Nobody wants to be in a position to have to choose a care home, but I would not hesitate in recommending Amy Woodgate.

My Mother was resident here for the three years leading up to her death this month. She was extremely well cared for in a safe and caring environment. The building is modern and well designed for the needs of the residents. It is always immaculately clean. The meals are excellent and there is always plenty of activities for the residents to be involved with. The staff are professional, caring and work extremely hard. They genuinely care about all the residents and their family and friends. All residents are treated with the utmost respect. There are 44 en suite bedrooms.

My mother was resident at Amy Woodgate House almost a year and received nothing but kindness, compassion and excellent care. All the staff are wonderful and the level of service is second to none. Her room was always immaculate and the common areas kept spotlessly clean. I know that there is nowhere that would have been better suited to her needs in the final months of her life.

My mother was a resident for 2 yrs and I couldn't have wished for her to be anywhere better. The care she received from the staff was with respect/dignity and a smile, under what I considered at times, to be challenging circumstances. The home is bright and homely with very comfortable rooms which were always clean. Worthy of a 5 star rating.

My mother spent at least 6 years in Amy Woodgate and from the beginning she was treated with dignity and respect, she was pampered by the staff and allowed to be herself. When we came to visit we always felt welcome and everyone was very hospitable.

A week before my mother died I came and stayed in the home with her, I was so impressed by all the staff, especially my mums personal carers. I could not have asked for a better facility and thank all of them for looking after Mum in her final years of life. I rate Amy Woodgate 10 out of 10!
