The care both my mum and mother-in-law receives here is beyond words, the staff treat them both like their own mum's as I would expect. The home is managed very professionally and take great care to make sure all the resident's needs are met and also have time for the families at all times. My mum has settled very well here after trying two other homes who couldn't meet her needs. The care here is so good. I have already put my name down for a room when I am ready, Seriously.

I would like to say:
I have stayed here before and really love it.
The staff are lovely and good to me and the food is very good, I can't fault it.
I am thinking of staying here permanently.

The maintenance guy is very good and would put anything right for me.

I believe it would be very difficult to find another care home where residents could have better care. Any needs are attended to promptly and staff are cheerful and friendly. Their attitude towards relatives is first class. Any concerns are always discussed and satisfactory outcomes achieved. If my husband was not happy there I would know just by looking at him! The leadership of the management team permits through all departments.

Dad has been in the home for 18 months he was in fair health when he arrived, but has deteriorated in the last few weeks. He is cared for very well, on the whole. Sometimes I find that messages do not get passed on, But the staff are very friendly, quite a high turn over through, sadly.

Avery House has restored my faith in residential care. My mother who suffers from Alzheimers was initially admitted for emergency respite care when my father was hospitalised but is now permanent. I have been impressed with the very good care shown as well as the approachability and friendliness of staff who listen and try to accommodate clients' needs. Medical care has been good and appropriate. My father is now also in residential care at Avery House, initially for respite following his hospitalisation, but has now requested to stay and he really likes it there.
It was a welcome surprise to be invited for a care review for both parents to discuss any concerns or issues I might have had. I was also grateful of the offer of an escort for a hospital appointment.
For me the only improvement is that there seems to be a loss of personal clothing through the laundry process.

I have been a carer from afar and wish I could find somewhere equivalent on the South Coast closer to my home.

I am very pleased with the overall care in Avery House. Nice clean environment, a happy place. All staff very kind to residents and families, occasionally they seem understaffed but try hard to care for everyone. They do need more activities as in the last few months I haven't seen or heard as much singing going on and other activities.

The staff were very welcoming and kind. They assessed my father quickly and efficiently to get him the aids he needed to help him. The staff listened carefully to him and us to make sure he was happy. The food was excellent and family were invited to join mealtimes. When he went into hospital a member of staff stayed with him until we arrived and the manager and her assistant visited him. They were very caring and he liked them.

Avery House has been a lifesaver for my father and me. Following a stroke, he was withdrawn, not getting out of bed or washing (even with carers) while living in his own home. Once in Avery, he was helped out of bed in the mornings. He is clean and happy. He is well fed and can mix with others though chooses often to eat in his room. He is helped with all daily activities. The staff are very caring and compassionate, despite my father having some inappropriate behaviour. The home is well run. Every one smiles and chats when I visit (daily). My only negative points are it is quite expensive compared to some other homes. But are they as good as Avery?

My mum has been in Avery House for several years. We are both very happy with the level of care she receives. The staff are very friendly and show interest in mum's wider family. Communication is generally very good. I would certainly recommend Avery House to anyone looking for care for an elderly relative.
