Opened in December 2009, Tallis House is a modern purpose built care home offering en-suite rooms and flat screen TVs as standard. Residents enjoy comfortable surroundings, freshly prepared meals cooked by the head chef, a relaxing café, a hairdressing salon and lovely gardens to take a walk through.

The home is closely linked with the local School and Church and was named after Thomas Tallis, the 16th Century composer who lived at the Abbey, following a competition at the School Fete.

Both my mother and father were in Tallis House over a period of a few years until they passed away. I cannot fault this care home, staff are amazing, especially the manager and her team, they always had time to discuss things with me and they always treated my parents with both dignity and respect and
always had time for them as well.
I could not have wished for them to be in a more caring place.

Both my in-laws were in Tallis House over a period of a few years until they passed away. The staff are all amazing, very helpful, caring and always treated people with dignity and respect. I really don't think they could have got better care anywhere else.

Tallis House kindly did the wake for our mother. The buffet was lovely and the staff were kind and thoughtful dealing with us all with compassion and care! Thank you for all your help. Both our parents were here at Tallis House and throughout their time they were treated with dignity and respect in

As you can see from my review, my answers are all "excellent" for Tallis House and therefore it speaks for itself. Since my friend entered Tallis House she was treated with great respect and dignity, she was truly at home and extremely happy. The staff were very good with her needs until her final days.
Once again, respect was shown and all I can say is a big thank you to all the staff.

My relative was a long term resident of the home (7 years) and whilst not everything was perfect, she was well looked after and cared for. Especially in her final weeks.

My friend was looked after exceptionally well in Tallis House. She loved it in Tallis House and her room was brilliant. The care she received was exceptional. Beyond belief. The staff loved her and she loved them. I, as her friend, was completely overwhelmed with the help she received during her stay.
When she became unwell they treated her with dignity and feeling. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

The first time I walked into Tallis House to view it, I felt a nice atmosphere. I was shown around in a friendly, but professional manner. I had no hesitation in deciding my father would be made to feel "at home" there.
My father never complained to me about anything and I feel he was as happy as he
could be in his circumstances.
The staff were always helpful, polite and friendly. The day he passed away, the staff were thoughtful and thorough. I will never forget the care the staff gave my father while he was at Tallis House. Thank you.

My aunt has been resident in Tallis House for 3 years until yesterday (15th May 2016) when she sadly passed away. I cannot stress how the care for my aunt by the carers at Tallis House was. They were absolutely brilliant, they were with my aunt in her final days and final hours and treated her like
their own family member. I am very impressed with the care she was given at Tallis House.

I began my career with Runwood Homes in 2009. I started as a carer in Tallis House, care team leader, deputy manager and now I’m a home manager. My ethos in my role is that with great teamwork, we can achieve anything for our residents and their families, and all our staff members contribute to the success of our home. Our residents are at the centre of everything we do at Tallis House.

My name is Joanne. I am one of the Deputy Managers at Tallis House, where I have been proudly working since 2016. I thoroughly enjoy being part of a great team, supporting my colleagues in their day-to-day duties, and providing high-quality care to our wonderful residents.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as Level 3 qualifications in End of Life Care and Dementia Care. I bring a positive energy to my work, complemented by a great sense of humour and a love for laughter.


Outside of work, I enjoy unwinding with TV series, swimming, attending live music events, and spending quality time with my family.

My name is Grace, and I am one of the Deputy Managers at Tallis House. I began my journey with Runwood in 2017, returned in 2023, and have been proud to work here ever since. I love working with a fantastic team, improving the quality of life for our residents, and embracing the fact that every day brings something new and exciting.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as an Access to Nursing and Midwifery Diploma. A fun fact about me is my obsession with sausage dogs—they’re my absolute favourite!


In my spare time, I enjoy watching crime documentaries, going ghost hunting, and spending quality time with my family.
