Being very impressed with this nursing home. My wife was brought into this nursing home October 7th after suffering with dementia for 3 and a half years followed by a stroke on August 3rd. She is settling in now which has relieved me of a lot of pressure and tension. I am very pleased with every aspect of this nursing home.

Overall Experience

My husband has been at Oak Lodge since March 2010, in that time he has been wonderfully looked after and treated as their own by all the staff. They do over and above with respectful treatment of family who visit. My thanks always to them in difficult situations.

Oak Lodge is very good and does a great job looking after my mother. The staff are very friendly and work very hard. I do enjoy coming in to visit. If I do have any problems, there is always someone to talk to and get it sorted out. Lovely place.

Corin RidoutJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2016

I am the home manager at Oak Lodge. I have worked for Bupa for 9 years and at Oak Lodge for 6 years.

I came to the care sector in 2010 after deciding on a career change. I had spent the previous 9 years managing a live music venue in Camden Town, London, before volunteering and travelling through South America for a year with my now wife. I started in the care sector as a support worker, supporting young adults with disabilities to maintain independence and engage in society. I worked hard and advanced my career, becoming a service manager in the sector before moving into care homes in 2016, with my first role at Bupa as a general manager of a multi-site complex in Essex. In 2019, I made the move back down to the beautiful New Forest, where I grew up and took the role of home manager at Oak Lodge care home, where I have happily remained since.

At Bupa, I am supported by the wider business and colleagues to be able to ensure the best outcomes for the residents who trust us with their care and wellbeing needs. The team here are a wonderful, kind and caring bunch, and I feel privileged to work alongside them.

I am married and have 2 young daughters, and I live in the beautiful New Forest. Outside of my role at Bupa, I am an advanced Wim Hof Method Instructor and run workshops for people to come and safely learn the method and the science behind the benefits. I am passionate about supporting people with their Mental Health challenges, and I am a trained Mental Health First Aider.

I joined the team at Oak Lodge in 2016. I previously spent over 23 years working for the Department of Work and Pensions as an admin officer. After taking voluntary redundancy, I thought my experience would be a good fit for this role.

I enjoy supporting our residents and their loved ones and answering any questions they have, working as part of a great team that cares for our residents and the endless supply of home-made cakes and biscuits!

I live locally and I am married with one son. I enjoy films, comedies, quizzing and gaming with my son.
