Since my last review, I have noticed a lot of changes, more staff, not so many agency staff. Food is more acceptable and good staff. Now, when I ask for something to be done, it is done. Mum is very happy here, she told me.

The staff have always been polite and friendly and cared for my relative with compassion. The food is excellent and the overall care and any treatment needed have always been done promptly.

The home is cosy and value for money.

I have visited my wife several times now and have been very impressed by all the staff I have met, management, nurses and carers, for their thoughtfulness, loving and kindness.
The lounge and dining room are in very good decorative order, clean and tidy.
My wife's room is nice and bright and well furnished with adjacent bathroom.

I feel very relieved that she is well cared for. Her previous home was nice but Oak Lodge is far better.

Care quality very much depends on who is on duty. There is a very good standard of care and can be also a very poor standard of care.

I am confident that my friend is receiving a good level of care. There is a relaxed yet professional ambience throughout the home and as a frequent visitor, I know many of the care staff and can raise any concerns at the point of contact.

The nursing care which is provided in this home is of a very high standard. My cousin had a medical emergency last week and the staff dealt with the problem very quickly and in a very professional manner. The home is very clean and tidy, also the residents are all treated with respect and understanding.

I am writing this on behalf of my husband who is a resident. He has been here for a month only. Up to now we, his family, and me, are very satisfied with most aspects of the home. His room is bright and clean. There is only one thing that should be moved, its the table by his bed, has seen better days.

Overall I am happy with the level of care my mother has received in this care home. The staff are friendly and the property is well maintained. I know of a few staffing issues that they have had and I am also aware of a few members of staff being dismissed because of patient mistreatment. However, I am happy that this has occurred as it shows the home won't stand for the type of behaviour and that is reassuring to know. I like the continuity of care my mother receives and all the ladies I have got to know and respect.

Room - Clothes are squashed in drawers not tidied, walls a bit scruffy.
Activities - Not here often enough to know about regular activities therefore satisfactory review.

Value for money - Like most care homes as she is self funded we find this expensive.

Overall - happy with the majority of things and would recommend.

My mum has been at the home for a year today. It's a lovely home, the staff are amazing. Some even went above call of duty for my wedding in July. As the mother of the bride the staff made sure she had her hair done and make up.
I'm able to bring my one year old son to visit his Nana and have left toys in her room for him to play at each visits.
It was a very hard to look for homes for our lovely mum, but as soon as we saw this one we loved it, it was home.

Amazing place and importantly mum is happy and safe.

The food is amazing, so much so that even my son is keen to eat it (I swear he hates my cooking).

Mum will have been with Oak Lodge a year tomorrow and I haven't yet visited and not seen a smile on her face. To know that she is so content is a huge blessing, she is well looked after, treated with the utmost care and I truly feel that she is safe. What more could a child want for their Mum. Making the decision and then choosing a home is one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, yet I know that with our choice of Oak Lodge that we found her, her new forever home. The moment we walked in we knew it was the one and Mum has certainly proved this to be the case. I have nothing but praise for the staff, having been a carer for umpteen years I know what's needed to be helpful, happy and caring on a daily basis and they all do it with a smile, each and every one of them. They go above and beyond and it's definitely appreciated by my family and I.

I am the home manager at Oak Lodge. I have worked for Bupa for 9 years and at Oak Lodge for 6 years.

I came to the care sector in 2010 after deciding on a career change. I had spent the previous 9 years managing a live music venue in Camden Town, London, before volunteering and travelling through South America for a year with my now wife. I started in the care sector as a support worker, supporting young adults with disabilities to maintain independence and engage in society. I worked hard and advanced my career, becoming a service manager in the sector before moving into care homes in 2016, with my first role at Bupa as a general manager of a multi-site complex in Essex. In 2019, I made the move back down to the beautiful New Forest, where I grew up and took the role of home manager at Oak Lodge care home, where I have happily remained since.

At Bupa, I am supported by the wider business and colleagues to be able to ensure the best outcomes for the residents who trust us with their care and wellbeing needs. The team here are a wonderful, kind and caring bunch, and I feel privileged to work alongside them.

I am married and have 2 young daughters, and I live in the beautiful New Forest. Outside of my role at Bupa, I am an advanced Wim Hof Method Instructor and run workshops for people to come and safely learn the method and the science behind the benefits. I am passionate about supporting people with their Mental Health challenges, and I am a trained Mental Health First Aider.

I joined the team at Oak Lodge in 2016. I previously spent over 23 years working for the Department of Work and Pensions as an admin officer. After taking voluntary redundancy, I thought my experience would be a good fit for this role.

I enjoy supporting our residents and their loved ones and answering any questions they have, working as part of a great team that cares for our residents and the endless supply of home-made cakes and biscuits!

I live locally and I am married with one son. I enjoy films, comedies, quizzing and gaming with my son.
