Kitchen view lounge - peeling wallpaper but the dining room is being decorated so may be fixed soon, easy access - one lift to the third floor. Staff decorate the lounge for festivals including Chinese New Year. Plants and dried/artificial colourful flowers are always on view. Meals - vegetables are often overcooked but a reasonable menu.

The staff are always attentive and look after my dad when he visits my mum in the care home. They sometimes phone me to check on him if he hasn't turned up! Alzheimer's is very distressing for relatives but I know my mum is safe and cared for which helps a lot.

My dad has been at Oak Lodge Care Home for 2 weeks. He seemed to settle well in the care home. The room he is in is a very nice room with an ensuite bathroom. The staff are very friendly and very caring. The security at the home is very good so the residents feel safe.

The care home is clean and tidy. They provide a healthy option of food, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

My mother has now been a resident at Oak Lodge for 6 months after having one fall too many she is no longer able to weight bare.
Nursing personal care is of a very high standard as is the food.

It is nice when visiting to see the same staff who are always welcoming and careful. I would certainly recommend Oak Lodge to anyone looking for nursing care.

My mum has been in Oak Lodge Care Home for over three years. In this time the friendly happy staff who look after my mum have been constant. They take great care of my mum's daily need giving her all the time she needs. The food is great and the home is always clean and smells fresh. My mum is lucky to have an excellent nurse working on Peartree Floor who always has time to answer questions and give feedback. To sum up the place, you are greeted by a smile as you enter and the experience gets better.

Mum has been in the home now for four months. Living out of the country, I am finding it hard to keep in contact with the home. However, when contacted, they were good in providing me with additional contact help.

Visiting this time the staff have been great.

My lifetime friend has been a resident for about 1 year and we have visited her on a regular basis on different weekdays and have always been impressed by all aspects of the care provided at the home.

In particular, the attitude and dedication of the staff that we have come into contact with is exemplary and we have complimented individuals accordingly at every opportunity. Other residents we have met appear to be happy and well cared for.

My brother has been very happy at Oak Lodge for around five years. He is looked after with kindness and enjoys the entertainment provided by singers and dancers.

I cannot comment on food and drink as my brother has to be fed via a tube. However, the residents look happy at the lunch table.

Staff are very caring and respond well to Dad's needs. He is happy here and has formed great relationships with the staff.

Responses to buzzers is an area which I feel has room for improvement as Dad has waited for a long time on occasions for someone to come into his room when he has rung his buzzer or buzzers are not always within his reach.

Corin RidoutJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2016

I am the home manager at Oak Lodge. I have worked for Bupa for 9 years and at Oak Lodge for 6 years.

I came to the care sector in 2010 after deciding on a career change. I had spent the previous 9 years managing a live music venue in Camden Town, London, before volunteering and travelling through South America for a year with my now wife. I started in the care sector as a support worker, supporting young adults with disabilities to maintain independence and engage in society. I worked hard and advanced my career, becoming a service manager in the sector before moving into care homes in 2016, with my first role at Bupa as a general manager of a multi-site complex in Essex. In 2019, I made the move back down to the beautiful New Forest, where I grew up and took the role of home manager at Oak Lodge care home, where I have happily remained since.

At Bupa, I am supported by the wider business and colleagues to be able to ensure the best outcomes for the residents who trust us with their care and wellbeing needs. The team here are a wonderful, kind and caring bunch, and I feel privileged to work alongside them.

I am married and have 2 young daughters, and I live in the beautiful New Forest. Outside of my role at Bupa, I am an advanced Wim Hof Method Instructor and run workshops for people to come and safely learn the method and the science behind the benefits. I am passionate about supporting people with their Mental Health challenges, and I am a trained Mental Health First Aider.

Keith EldridgeJob Title:Financial AdministratorJoined: 2016

I joined the team at Oak Lodge in 2016. I previously spent over 23 years working for the Department of Work and Pensions as an admin officer. After taking voluntary redundancy, I thought my experience would be a good fit for this role.

I enjoy supporting our residents and their loved ones and answering any questions they have, working as part of a great team that cares for our residents and the endless supply of home-made cakes and biscuits!

I live locally and I am married with one son. I enjoy films, comedies, quizzing and gaming with my son.
