Very good. The only problem I have is not leaving the alarm with my husband. Also leaving the alarm ringing for a long time. Otherwise, the staff and manager are really lovely and so glad he is here.

She is on Peartree floor. The care and dignity side of the package is excellent. All carers are attentive and nothing is too much trouble - very friendly.
The food is prepared by a chef and is very good. I visit my mum every day and she is always comfy and clean. There is a doctor on site every Monday and Thursday for any queries or concerns. Everyone is very flexible and accommodating to individual needs. Very happy and feel I can voice my concerns freely.

On 1 occasion when I was there, we waited over 20 minutes for someone to hoist him onto the toilet after me asking 3 times.
He said when you ring the bell, it takes ages for someone to come, 30 minutes wait on another occasion.

It has been a good experience when it's been a very sad affair to have to place my mother in a care home. All the staff are very good and if I had any worries or problems, I know I would talk to any of them. My mother has been here for 3 years now and she's being well looked after with lots of care and lots of dignity. Thank you Oak Lodge.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home. We understand how difficult it can be to arrange care for a loved one but we are happy to hear that your mother has settled in well and is receiving the care and respect she deserves.
Lovely staff lots going on always warm.
Thank you for your review. We are so proud of our staff and the efforts that they go to for our residents and their families.
My dad and I moved my mum into Oak Lodge in January 2018 and it has proved to be the best decision we could have made, she is very happy living here and all the staff are so kind and caring, attending to her many needs.
Thank you for sharing this, I am happy to hear that your mum is happy at Oak Lodge.
After several very traumatic (for me) weeks. It was a relief to know that my husband would be cared for in such a nice care home. Staff at the previous facility were excellent. A great support to me, it was not a place for him to stay permanently. My husband has only been here for a few days, I know he is very good kind hands and I may be able to stop worrying.
Thank you for your review. I'm sure that your husband will settle in well and make new friends not only with other residents but staff as well. I'm sure that you will have peace of mind knowing that he is safe and well cared for in our care and any concerns that you may have, just say and I'm sure they will be dealt with for you putting your mind at rest.
Very good overall experience.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home.
My father (Freemantle Floor) has been so looked after since arriving in this home. He seems very settled, contented and happy with all the carers he has. He is always clean and has gained weight which is a good thing. My father is vegetarian and I have been assured that the choice of food for him is improving.
Thank you for your review. I'm so pleased to hear that your father is settled and happy, this must give you peace of mind knowing that he is safe and well cared for.
My mum is happy and well cared for at Oak Lodge. All carers are fantastic and work incredibly hard to ensure all residents are enjoying their lives at Oak Lodge. Oak Lodge has a family feel and all visitors feel very welcome.
Thank you for your review. It is so nice to hear that your mum is happy and well cared for. It is the little things like a smile or a little chat that makes all the difference and makes it more like a family.
My mother was always treated with loving kindness. Her requirements were few especially in the last few years, but she needed to be turned every two hours because she was bedridden. In the early days, I had to step in because she was moved using a hoist which she found distressing. When she was able to use the step lift by covering the metal work with a towel to protect her knees.
Overall I was very impressed with the home, the facilities, the staff, the layout in the lounge and the ability to choose something different at mealtimes if the menu was not fancied for instance ask for an omelette.
So sorry to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review and kind words. it is lovely to hear that you were impressed with our home and I hope that when you look back on the time that your mother spent with us it gives you comfort knowing that she was well cared for.
Very satisfied with the care provided for my cousin.

Meet the Team (2)

I am the home manager at Oak Lodge. I have worked for Bupa for 9 years and at Oak Lodge for 6 years.
I came to the care sector in 2010 after deciding on a career change. I had spent the previous 9 years managing a live music venue in Camden Town, London, before volunteering and travelling through South America for a year with my now wife. I started in the care sector as a support worker, supporting young adults with disabilities to maintain independence and engage in society. I worked hard and advanced my career, becoming a service manager in the sector before moving into care homes in 2016, with my first role at Bupa as a general manager of a multi-site complex in Essex. In 2019, I made the move back down to the beautiful New Forest, where I grew up and took the role of home manager at Oak Lodge care home, where I have happily remained since.
At Bupa, I am supported by the wider business and colleagues to be able to ensure the best outcomes for the residents who trust us with their care and wellbeing needs. The team here are a wonderful, kind and caring bunch, and I feel privileged to work alongside them.
I am married and have 2 young daughters, and I live in the beautiful New Forest. Outside of my role at Bupa, I am an advanced Wim Hof Method Instructor and run workshops for people to come and safely learn the method and the science behind the benefits. I am passionate about supporting people with their Mental Health challenges, and I am a trained Mental Health First Aider.

I joined the team at Oak Lodge in 2016. I previously spent over 23 years working for the Department of Work and Pensions as an admin officer. After taking voluntary redundancy, I thought my experience would be a good fit for this role.
I enjoy supporting our residents and their loved ones and answering any questions they have, working as part of a great team that cares for our residents and the endless supply of home-made cakes and biscuits!
I live locally and I am married with one son. I enjoy films, comedies, quizzing and gaming with my son.
