Since my husband became a resident of Mountain View in March, myself & our son have been absolutely delighted with the care, dedication & lovely manner in which he is looked after. We've also been welcomed into the home where the fabulous staff actively engage with us too. My husband is encouraged daily to spend time in the lounge area where he can be amongst staff/other visitors. The Well-being team do an excellent job with varied activities/outings. We all attended a Father's Day afternoon tea in The Street (communal area), a Carnival evening on the unit with a quiz, music & buffet, animal interaction afternoon, my husband attends breakfast club in The Street every Wednesday morning where he can meet residents from other units, there is gardening club, outings in the minibus, fortnightly church services which he enjoys plus regular singers providing afternoon entertainment. I feel very lucky to have found Ty Penrhos for his care.
Hi, thank you so much for your really nice review, We are so pleased you are happy with the care and activities at Ty Penrhos. Kate
Generally pleased with my mothers overall care. The staff are kind and caring and treat my mother respectfully. Mam is quite happy at Ty Penrhos and any issues are dealt with promptly.
Thank you so much for your review, Staff nurses and management have an open door policy and welcome feedback and discussion.
Very happy with the care my mum receives, carers are always very welcoming and friendly on daffodil rise. Just a shame visiting closes at lunch time, shame we can't go into our loved ones rooms to feed them like how we was able to before at that time. Also, I feel as though my mum would be safer if walkers were monitored when walking around freely. As there has been reports of them walking into individuals rooms and taking items and my mum would not be able to react or call for help if needed.
Hi dearest relative, I have had a converstion with you regarding your review and we are aware of your concerns, I will also have a meeting with the team regarding the mealtime experience. I can assure you that safety is our number one priority. Kate
I visit my sister in law every week for about one and half hours so am reluctant to be to critical because I am not here long enough. I feel staff are not attentive enough to the people they are caring for and spend a lot of time sitting their their phones or eating. I find I have to return clothes weekly that don't belong to my relative and she is often wearing clothes that are not hers. The ratings I have left are because I have no seen meals or activities and do not know how much is being paid.
Hi, Thank you for your review, we are grateful for any feedback and hope to rectify concerns. Please be aware we have an open door policy and if ever you would like a chat with the staff nurse or managers, please pop in to the office. The care and all staff are excellent in all aspects of the care of my husband.

Thank you so much for your review, we much appreciate it. Kate Gunter Clinical Lead
The staff are always pleasant and courteous, and genuinely know each resident with comments on how they are doing and what they have been doing recently. The home is always clean and well presented with no bad smells or odours.
Thank you for your kind words, I will pass on your comments to the staff working on the community, once again thank you for taking the time to compliment the staff.
Staff are very good, easily approachable.
thank you for your kind words, I will pass these over to the staff. It is always to know that family are pleased and happy with the care thier loved ones receive, this is much appreciated. Once again thank you.
Excellent care given by staff to my dad. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Food times do vary slightly, so often sat waiting for food. Food isn't cut up for my dad who can have large pieces of meat he can't cut/eat. Staff are friendly + helpful. Level of frustration when my dad doesn't have his socks put on despite numerous request on balance though very good.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I will pass these over to the staff who work hard to make sure all care provided is individualized and of a high standard. We are already in discussions over the varied time meals are provided and will bring this comment to the Chef to find a solution.Once again thank you, we much appreciated all reviws.
My mother has been at Ty-Penrhos since December 2021 and sadly, in February this year, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. It was in my mum's best interest to keep her in the care home for a number of reasons but not least because she would have been incredibly distressed by the admission to a hospital. My mother also has dementia but Ty Penrhos and some of the regular staff at Daffodil Rise Unit are still familiar to her. I cannot praise them enough for their dedication, compassion and the outstanding care they have given to my mother and for the communication and support I've also received. The Managers, carers and palliative nurses at Daffodil Rise are the 'unsung heroes' who often go above and beyond what is expected of them and I hope this is recognised and they know how much they are appreciated.
Thank you so much for this lovely review. I will pass on your kind words to all involved in your mum's care, thank you again.
We have nothing but praise for the care the staff gave Mam whilst she was with you on the Caerphilly unit. They really went above and beyond. Mams care was complex but nothing was too much trouble for them. They strived to make sure Mam was comfortable and they took time to make sure all of her needs were catered for. They gave her hugs and held her hand when she was upset and when Mam was having a good day they would sing and dance with her. When it came to Mams last days they were there for us too providing not only food and drink but hugs and kind words. They really are the best and we would like them to receive this feedback from us. We really can't thank them enough.
Many thanks for your kind words, I will make sure the staff are aware of your review which is well derserved as they work so hard to provide a high level of care with dignity and respect, not only to the resident but also their loved ones.Once again many thanks.Karen
My wife has settled in at Ty Penrhos very well and the staff and management has been just brilliant with her and we as a family are very happy the way the care home is run.
Thank you for your kind words. We always strive to provide the best care possible treating all with respect and dignity. All care is individualised and their loved ones are encouraged to participate in completing these plans and agreeing to what outcomes would like to be acheived.
My mum seems to have settled well and her care is exceptional. I feel she has gained her dignity back and she now feels safe and contented. The atmosphere is always calm and peaceful and the staff always have time to talk about any concerns.
Thank you for your lovely comments. I am pleased that your mum has settled at Ty Penrhos. we do make every effort to make every resident and their loved ones to feel welcomed. We strive to provide individualised care to each resident by placing the resident at the center of their care and treating them with dignity and respect.
Excellent care on Daffodil Rise. No worries or concerns about my wife since she has been in their care. So happy she is with them . Staff are compassionate and understand dementia / alzeheimers. They have supported me and my family.
Thank you so much for you review and your kind words. we strive to always give each individual living at ty Penrhos the best care possible, which is what they deserve. Every member of the team give 100% to maintain the wellbeing of our residents by exploring their personal likes and dislikes making their lives the best we can.
My mother is on daffodil rise, the care is excellent , staff are compassionate they fully understand dementia / Alzheimer's. Since my mum has been there she has put on weight , more aware, looking so much better I can't thank the home enough.
Thank you so much for the great review, much appreciated, I will pass on to the team.
I'm happy with the care my Nan is receiving, she seems happy in the care home and likes the carers around her. Always lots of activities going on for the residents to take part in and a different variety of foods throughout the week for them to eat.
Thank you for your kind review. I am pleased that you are happy with the care your nan is receiving and the activities which are varied to accommodate individual residents.
Ty Penrhos stood out when I was looking for a place for my mum. She has been a resident since Sept 2023 and it proved to be the best place for her. The staff show care and kindness and understand her frustrations due to her Alzheimer's. The whole place is always clean and has a pleasant calm atmosphere. When she moved from residential to nursing the staff went out of their way to make it as easy as possible. They arrange lots of activities which the residents all seem to enjoy. I can't praise them enough.
Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad your mum has settled well and enjoys all the activities.
Always a good atmosphere at the home. Staff are always very good. Very helpful with me, always giving me updates on my mother and just explaining to me how she has been doing.
Thank you very much for your review, it is always appreciated to have some lovely comments for the care provided to your Dad.
Another lady also made a concerted effort to say hello and chat. She spoke passionately about the morning's activity session and a recent course she had been on. It was lovely to hear someone speak so positively about their role.
I also experienced her interacting with other residents, she showed great care and consideration even though I could see she was extremely busy. The smallest thing which really left an impression was that she made a point of sitting in a different spot so all residents could chat and see her.
Mountain View has always been a lovely community. The unit felt full of love and care, and it was a pleasure to visit.
Thank you for your kind review, The staff work really hard and get pleasure from seeing the residents they care for be content and happy. I will let all the staff know of your kind words, which I know will make them feel elated. Many thanks.
My mother has been in this care home since August 2023. She has received very good care. She has been prescribed medication which has had a positive effect. I always feel welcome at the home and able to express any concerns to management. I do feel staff are under pressure and this is sometimes evident.
Thank you for your positive review, we always aim to provide a high standard of care and pride ourselves in the work we do as a team.
