Originally from Scotland, I started my working life in banking, before deciding to complete a university degree. I then took some time out and travelled around the world to Australia. I have now worked in care for 14 years within sheltered housing, extra care housing, care homes and nursing homes.
As Home Manager it is my job to listen to our residents, lead the team, answer queries from families and ensure all our compliance requirements are met. I want to ensure that my residents and my team are happy and seeing that brings me joy in my role. I love to create a warm, welcoming vibrant home and make an impact.
The atmosphere is extremely important and it ensures that everyone I am responsible for feels part of our community and that each day is a good day and strive for positive feedback on what we do.
I believe everything that we do at Deer Park View, we put our heart and soul into it, we are passionate about the work and believe in improving the lives of our residents. I always hope to have a positive impact on the place I work in and ensure we have a lively, full, and happy home.
My biggest achievement was completing my Social Work degree whilst working. I have lived in the local area for over 5 years and one of the highlights of our location is Bushy Park just across the road. We also have Kingston nearby with lots of shops and activities.
My passions are my family and football. I have two young children and love all things football. I still support Celtic and many years ago adopted an English club which I still follow – Liverpool.
