Both my mother and father were in Charles Court. My father passed away in the very early hours of today after circa 4 months in Charles Court.
Throughout, he had received the most caring and attentive care. All the staff, including management, have been so happy in their work and is the type of home
you hope your parents will utilise. We are more than happy that my mother will receive happy support in the future. It must be hard for staff at many times but they always remain willing.

My wife has been a resident at Charles Court for 30 months, she suffers from severe Lewy Body dementia. Her care and nursing support are excellent and cannot be bettered. Her personal carer is wonderful and so caring with her. Their relationship is second to none and this is helping my wife with her
illness and long may it continue. Without this care, her life would be very difficult for the family.

My wife has been cared for since June 2015 and I have been pleased with the care she has received. The staff are so pleasing and always so courteous. The cleanliness is exceptional and the food is also very good. I love the occasional meal there myself and found it to be very good.

Generally very good. Not sure my Mother always takes her medication. She doesn't like tablets and needs supervision.

My experience over the last week has been one of appreciation of the management and all the staff and nurses.
The residence seems to be well looked after and the food is lovely. The staff are happy to help and answer any questions from resident and family members alike.
The rooms are lovely and the
facilities seem very good. There is one carer that is a wonderful person and in my opinion was born to be and exceptional carer (An Angel on earth).

My mother-in-law was admitted into this wonderful care home on 12th April 2018.
This has only been one week since she was admitted and I have visited her several times and each time I have visited her I must say that the staff and management have been great.
They all take the time to chat and seem
to look after the residents and families very well.
The rooms and food here are lovely and the staff make sure that all the residents want for nothing.
They have entertainment from time to time which is wonderful.

Have welcomed my Father-in-Law in fantastic, going out of their way to help him settle in, as had been into a previous care home which wasn't the best and sorting out infection (chest, urine) immediately as soon as they noticed it. Staff lovely and friendly easy to approach about anything.

You cannot fault the care and detail to all residents and visitors. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The food is excellent and visitors can have a meal with their loved ones if they wish.
Plenty of space so residents can move about and join in the many activities during the day.
The coordinator
arranges bus trips out and people look forward to them.

Really impressed with the team at Charles Court, my nan was taken ill in December and we thought that was her gone. She appeared a lot better but left the hospital with a very nasty bedsore which could of been prevented, but thanks to the staff at Charles Court, especially two senior care nurses, my
nana has made an amazing recovery and with the constant continued care, she is back to her best self.

Recently, Mum was admitted to hospital. While there she got a nasty bedsore due to not being turned. So when she got back to the home the carers looked after her really well and prevented Mums sore turning into something worse. Only one niggle I have really is sometimes Mum is forgotten when they bring
drinks around.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.882)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.882) out of 10 for Charles Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.590 for Charles Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (66 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.59
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.292 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Charles Court Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 15.2 = 0.592
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
