Just have to say a big, big thank you to all the staff at Abbey Court. You all go over and above. Just fantastic, and again, thank you.
My grandad has been in the care home for a few months now. It is always clean and tidy and the staff are always friendly and happy to help. My grandad is very happy here and I am so pleased that he is in such a lovely place.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are delighted to hear that your grandad is so happy with us and that you are pleased with the care and environment we provide.
Our team works hard to create a warm, friendly and welcoming home for all residents and their families, so it is wonderful to know...
My husband was only here 2 months (although he has been to 2 previous homes). I found the care was above and beyond expected. Although he was difficult (because of dementia) they handled him so well, with respect and took me under their wing. Informing me on medication and what to expect.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. It means a great deal to us and to the whole team. We understand how challenging dementia can be for both residents and their loved ones, so we are truly pleased that your husband was treated with the respect, patience and dignity he deserved...
My father has dementia and has settled in very well which is all due to the care and friendliness from all staff involved in his care. As a family we couldn't ask for any more.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Were delighted to hear that your father has settled in so well and that both he and your family feel welcomed and supported by our team. Providing compassionate, friendly care is at the heart of what we do, and your feedback means a great deal to us. Were grateful for your trust and will continue to do all we can to support your father and your family.
Whilst the surrounding of the place itself were 'difficult' the staffs attitude from introduction to leaving was lovely and reassuring. Thank you to you all.
The manager was very honest with us when we first met. The new owners are improving the care home, which had got a bit tired. The most important part of the service for me was the care and the staff there. They are first class, they really looked after my dad. He had just lost his wife after 62 years of marriage and was fragile. When we moved him back home he made a point of thanking them for the way they looked after him. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the care home because of the staff.
It was truly a pleasure to support your dad and your family during such a difficult time. Were so pleased he felt well cared for and that our team could provide the comfort and reassurance he needed.
Thank you for your kind words and for trusting us with his care.
Only been here 2 days but so far so good.
Abbey Court is a very good care home, knowing that your loved one is being cared for with dignity and compassion in a secure and understanding environment is very comforting. All the staff, from the house-keeping, kitchen staff, reception, admin to carers and nurses are friendly and kind, and help to provide a safe and welcoming home.
My brother has been at Abbey Court Care Home for three weeks, he has settled in really well. The staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. The room is lovely and clean, the bathroom is also spotless. He joins in any activity that is happening.
My husband has been at Abbey Court Care Home since June. He has Alzheimer's dementia, the staff are brilliant, they are kind, supportive and go that extra mile to keep them clean and happy as possible. The management is also brilliant, telling me if any problems with my husband and supporting me and making me feel at home. The whole place is clean and tidy, the cleaners are health and safety conscious most of the time cleaning two if not three times a day after meals. They are caring to all the residents that are there. Could not have found a better place for my husband. Gold star for all staff for all their hard work. Thank You.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback, Sue. Our aim, here at Abbey Court, is always to ensure our residents are as independent, comfortable and happy as possible within our home and it’s always fantastic to hear that this aim has been met.
My husband is on the Forget Me Not Unit, the care he is receiving since being admitted is 100% he isn't the easiest person to deal with at times but through all his time there he has been treated with respect and kindness at all times. The staff and management have kept me up to date on everything they do for him, I am so happy he is being looked after with the utmost kindness and care.
My dear wife suffers from deep depression and has done so for 40+ years. She also has aggressive lower body Parkinson's. She was accepted at Abbey Court in October 2018. Both I and the family are and always have been delighted with the care given to the dear lady. Times have been tough but the staff here are excellent, simply excellent.

My husband has been with Priory for the last 3 years in two of your homes. The care he has received on both accounts has been excellent and I can't praise them enough, not only to my husband but to me as well. Thank you.
The carers were great but short-staffed. Sometimes you never saw a carer and had to look around to find one. Turnover of managers is high. Items of Mum's went missing and requested what music she liked but it was never played to her. Entertainment was hit and miss and that's if they got taken to the entertainment. Mealtimes are not structured well. Sometimes breakfast was given at 10am. Clothes were slung in the bottom of her wardrobe even though we provided loads of coat hangers which never came back with her clothes on. Asking staff to call when she needed things and I hardly got any calls. Asked nurses and one of the lady managers to remove clothes that were too big and tell me what she needed, it happened once. One senior nurse took it into her own hands to stop a patch without consulting us first. When Mum passed away I was promised her ornaments would be wrapped in her clothes to prevent damage but they, along with her other stuff was slung in a box, like she didn't matter.

My mum-in-law reached the stage in her life when it was necessary to move to residential/nursing home care. Having looked at several providers I noted Abbey Court has a good CQC review. Luckily they had an available room! From assessment to moving in and continuing care, we have been very impressed. The home is beautifully laid out and spotlessly clean. Mum's room is able to accommodate all her needs.

They have been so “on the ball” with my Mum, showing her utmost dignity and respect, right up to and even after her passing away. We as a family and my Mum couldn’t have asked for more.

My brother was here for almost 2 years and was well looked after. We had no complaints at all. The staff were very caring.

My main complaints are as follows:- Not enough staff
1 Leg bag wasn't checked/emptied.
2 New leg bag wasn't changed for the first two weeks.
3 Bed linen is old and stained.
4 When my husband refused personal care, staff just left him in bed instead of having the authority to coax him.
5 The ensuite floor and toilet not cleaned thoroughly.
6 Clothes missing.
We have an open-door policy and the manager is available to meet with family’s who have concerns. We also offer regular relative meetings where concerns can also be raised.
Vomit stained sheets still on the bed three days later. Towels in the bathroom with more holes than towel!
Personal pads placed in the room for my mum to put on him if she thought necessary. We had to insist he had cream put on his bottom which was sore - we were told this hadn't broken the skin so was not required. Duvet cover as a bottom sheet on the bed, the list goes on...
I am sorry to hear of the concerns raised in regards to your fathers care, each area is currently being reviewed robustly and addressed within the home. We have an open door policy and the manager is available to meet with family’s whom have concerns.
