Memory Lane Community is specifically designed for people living with dementia using colour schemes that easily enable residents to identify areas within the home. It features life skills kitchens, where residents can be involved in everyday activities such as baking, setting tables, folding washing and pottering. Memory Lane also has a secure garden and balcony, where residents can enjoy outside space and activities in safety.
This Weekly Fee rate is an indication only of a typical standard fee rate for a resident living in a standard, comfortable room. A final Weekly Fee rate will be confirmed once we have carried out a pre-admission needs assessment. For nursing care, Weekly Fee rate will be dependent on personal needs.

My mother has lived in the home for a while and is happy and cared for. I find the staff who sometimes have to deal with challenging residents, as the home is for those with dementia, excellent in their care of my mother and cannot fault their kindness to her and to my family.

All my experiences at the home have been very friendly. My Mother-in-Law always looks clean and taken care of. I wish more old music was played during the day.

I found it very difficult to make the decision that it was time for mum to go into a home. I had always said I would not do it so the guilt was off the scale. Mum has mixed vascular Alzheimer's. Stopping in her own home meant she became a danger to herself as she lived alone. The staff were marvellous and she settled very quickly. She has been at Barchester Windmill Manor Care Home for almost five years now and has been happy. For the first three years, she had a better social package than me. Then we found out mum had lung cancer, the level of care she has received is second to none. Everyone from the manager to the chef and everyone between has been so supportive of her changing needs and also my own.

I like the way residents can express a likeness for certain foods. (My wife likes mushroom and eggs).
