All my experiences at the home have been very friendly. My Mother-in-Law always looks clean and taken care of. I wish more old music was played during the day.

I found it very difficult to make the decision that it was time for mum to go into a home. I had always said I would not do it so the guilt was off the scale. Mum has mixed vascular Alzheimer's. Stopping in her own home meant she became a danger to herself as she lived alone. The staff were marvellous and she settled very quickly. She has been at Barchester Windmill Manor Care Home for almost five years now and has been happy. For the first three years, she had a better social package than me. Then we found out mum had lung cancer, the level of care she has received is second to none. Everyone from the manager to the chef and everyone between has been so supportive of her changing needs and also my own.

Overall Experience
Windmill Manor provides my sister with all of her needs. The accommodation is comfortable and warm. The food is varied and good. There is ample room to walk around and a pleasant garden area.
The "social" room is large with plenty of chairs and a TV. The activities are varied and well organised with residents taking an active part.

Music and singing is very popular and well attended.

Overall Experience

My wife has been at Barchester Windmill Manor Care Home since February '16. Overall, the care has been good. Some staff are excellent. My wife has had medical problems and the have responded well with either the doctor being called or the ambulance called and she was in hospital with a chest infection. I like the way residents can express a likeness for certain foods. (My wife likes mushroom and eggs).
