Carers are wonderful! Mum often does not want to get up in the mornings or shower, but they always manage to do more than I ever would ever be able to do with my own mother! Mum was quite thin and not remembering to eat when she first came, but now she is looking like her old self again. Our thanks.

My friend was admitted as an end of life approach resident. I promised her I would not let her enter a care home - that I would nurse her at home (which I did for 2 years) but her condition worsened to such an extent that I had no other option. Among other things, my friend has vascular dementia so was not wholly aware of her circumstances. I could not have chosen a more caring home for her.

The home specialises in dementia care. The atmosphere is lovely and staff are supportive and friendly.

Nursing care is of a good standard and other care offered is good and professional.

Relatives are well supported, both by staff and other relatives and included in many activities.

Food is very good. My husband has now put on too much weight! On admission, he was very thin!

I believe our Mother is well cared for at Windmill Manor. She always looks clean and fresh and her health appears good. The staff are always very friendly, despite being busy, and they appear to include residents as much as they are able. However, I am not too sure how much staff time allows for 'one to one' interaction. Being able to drop by to see our mother at any time during the day is very helpful, and I also see the home as it runs on a daily basis. It is especially nice to be able to take Mum out into the coffee lounge/reception.

Mum is very well looked after by the staff at Windmill Manor, all of whom seem very caring and treat her with real affection and respect. The food is good and despite having a very small appetite she enjoys her meals. They make an effort to provide Mum with high-calorie supplements, to counteract her falling weight, and always let the family know if there are concerns about her health.

My family and I are very happy that my mother settled into the care home without any difficulty. The admission procedures were smooth, and she soon adapted to the daily routine. She is well-fed and well cared for, and seems as happy as her dementia seems to allow her to be.

My father came to Windmill Manor from another home, where he was extremely unhappy and would constantly pace. That stopped almost immediately. The home feels relaxed and comfortable. The staff are totally dedicated to the care of the residents and despite my father's issues, they are nothing but caring and supportive to him.

I believe that Windmill Manor is second to none and I cannot thank every single member of staff enough. This is a very challenging time for me, as I have come to realise that my much loved Dad needs round the clock care. I have always found the fantastic team at Windmill Manor to be remarkably caring, knowledgeable and meticulous. Their professionalism has made this difficult situation as easy as it can be. The carers have not only treated my father with respect but also they seem to know him really well and care deeply about him. Thank you all.

Mum has been at Windmill Manor for nearly two and a half years and is approaching her 101st birthday. As a family, we know that had we not moved mum, she would not have made it to her 100th! The care and love that she receives from all the staff is second to none. Being the age she is now, she sleeps a great deal, but she does not miss out. When she is awake, she is fully involved with the activities that go on. Mum's diet is very good, with nutritional drinks being given and enjoyed. There is a new doctor, who is so caring - speaking to family members when he sees you. As a family, we have been able to relax knowing that mum is being well looked after. She has no pain and is on no medication.

After myself and my brother had come to a decision to move my mother out of a care home, which we both felt was very poor in all departments, we found this care home which I viewed and was very happy with. We moved my mother into this one.
Since she has been here, I find every time I have been in to see her, the carers have been very caring and professional in their jobs, which is a breath of fresh air. I can't imagine how people can do such a demanding job.
I can see my mother is cared for very well, as she looks so much better in herself. It's been a short time since coming here but the improvement in my mother is down to the hard work of everyone in this care home
The only regret is I wish we had found this place earlier.

I can't thank the carers enough.

How nice it is to go in and be greeted by happy friendly staff. Love the family area and it is nice and clean, my mother is much happier here than the previous nursing home. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a relation to be in a great place.

We couldn't have chosen a better care home for our Mum. You cannot fault the care and attention she gets from all the staff - regardless of their job at the care home. Wonderful facilities, surroundings and entertainment. Our Mum is having a great time - company, entertainment and being attended to. We really enjoy visiting her and getting involved with the activities we can also attend. Lovely, friendly atmosphere that makes us feel welcome. We are coming here when it is our turn.

The staff are great and in my opinion, underpaid given that the home costs in excess of £4,800 PCM. It would be nice to see them being paid more for what is a very hard job. Dad's carers are what made me choose this home in the first place, they are fantastic.

Welcoming to residents and relatives. Communication systems a bit hard to fathom (who to ask about what). I think some of this info could be in written form in a 'welcome pack'. Staff are approachable and reassuring - relationships between residents and carers are warm and engaging - they know the residents well. :)

My mother in law has a very sad case of dementia and I have found on my visits everything to be satisfactory in terms of her care and well-being. My wife (her daughter) sees her almost every day is in a better position to make a detailed judgement. I find the activities programme to be really progressive in her care.
